I happened upon a bunch of his paperbacks for ridiculously cheap. So, I grabbed all of them and I'm ecstatic that I liked his writing. I hope all of them are as good. I'll probably read one a month, if you're interested in doing more buddy reads.

Look at you coming back for more! I thought for sure you and Lena we're burning your copies of Farris. Lol.

Sometimes, you have to be in a certain mood or frame of mind to read stuff like this. I remember the first time I ever tried to read Straub. I couldn't get through it and thought he was a stuffy, blow-hard. Then I picked up Ghost Story again years later and thought it was one of the most eloquently written horror stories I'd ever read. Go figure.

I could do the Fury next, since it seems a few of you have it. I simply need to whittle away at this TBR pile and then have someone stand guard at the local used book store and not let me enter!

I just looked and I have Shattered too. Yes, We'll probably be doing a buddy read of more Farris either late April or early May.

Me too! (view spoiler)[I wish the scene with Tyrone at the boat went on a little longer. (hide spoiler)]
But overall I loved how the book had this nightmarish, dreamlike quality to it. He made that seem effortless. This was my first time reading something by Farris and he's a very good writer.
