Fear UniversityDo any authors make use of editors these days? While I find many books with great story-telling, entertainment and fun, I am so completely put off when I discover that the words 'taut' and 'taunt' are apparently interchangeable, or when the author believes the past tense of 'drag' is 'drug'. Lot of other nonsense too, such as the plural of 'mouth' being 'mouth's', or 'who's' and 'whose' used incorrectly. Seriously, I'm not some old schoolmarm insisting on uncompromising rules of grammar! I just want to be able to read without being yanked from my suspension of disbelief by careless, thoughtless authorship.

AMEN sista! My single biggest pet peeve :(
And the dark side of the new wave of self-publishing. (Which is wonderful in so many ways - but it really puts the onus on the authors to clean things up themselves, and far too many don't seem to bother) *sigh*
