I'll read Happily Ever After (Cinder & Ella, #2) by Kelly Oram for heart.

message 302: by Kellyn (new)

Kellyn Roth (kellynrothauthor) | 195 comments I'll let you know what I pick tomorrow after I start impulse reading a standalone tonight. (I know, so organized! xP)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Sounds great, girls! Happy reading!!

message 304: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments My kindle did an automatic update earlier and every book disappeared from my kindle’s home screen. I freaked out because a lot of my netgalley books are archived now so I can’t resend them. So I hooked the kindle up to my computer and the files are on the kindle but I can’t access them. Amazon managed to restore some of the books and documents, but it looks like tomorrow (today) I’ll be working on getting this fixed. To be safe in the future, I’m going to save backups of my ARC’s on a thumb drive. I’m just so frustrated! 😡😔

message 305: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (ksnapier) | 705 comments Ohhh. I had that happen. You can go to your device settings and look under documents. Your NetGalley books should all be there.
HUGS

message 306: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (ksnapier) | 705 comments My book for this round is going to be a stand alone The Reading Promise My Father and the Books We Shared by Alice Ozma

I've read it before so it should go fast.
HUGS

message 307: by Kellyn (new)

Kellyn Roth (kellynrothauthor) | 195 comments Reading A Most Noble Heir by Susan Anne Mason. :)

message 308: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Yikes! Tiffany, that would be so scary! I'll be double-checking my Kindle in just a couple of minutes, now that you brought that up. :)

Kimberly and Kellyn, I hope those books are delightful for you!

Happy reading, Team!

message 309: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments They are. I just don't understand how the books can be on my kindle but not accessible.

message 310: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Me either. That's strange! I hope it gets sorted out soon.

message 311: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments Andrea wrote: "Me either. That's strange! I hope it gets sorted out soon."

It looks like I’ll be hooking the kindle up to the computer and reloading a lot of them.

message 312: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Aw, wow. I hope that goes a lot quicker than it sounds.

message 313: by Kellyn (new)

Kellyn Roth (kellynrothauthor) | 195 comments Finished the book! Gonna have to post the review later as I don't have access to a computer right now.

message 314: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Awesome job, Kellyn!

message 315: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments I’m waiting until my day off to even try. In the meantime, I’ve resent a few things, like my book for heart. If I end up with a duplicate, I can fix it when I have my kindle hooked up to my laptop. Im also planning on spending some quality time working on my own book. ☺️

message 316: by Andrea (last edited May 15, 2018 05:56PM) (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Writing a book?! Best wishes, Tiffany! That's very exciting.

Folks, this is what we need now:

LIGHTHOUSE
Kimberly

HEART
Kimberly
Megan
Andrea
Tiffany

Kellyn, you are completely caught up right now. Well done!

message 317: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments I've found my groove with my heart book today. There are still a lot of chapters to go, but I feel like I'm making significant progress. I'm also working on other books that might work for whichever category gets called on Wednesday night.

How are you ladies coming along on your books for the heart category? Are you looking ahead for books that might work come Wednesday?

message 318: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments I should have my heart book finished and reviewed today.

message 319: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Sounds great, Tiffany!

message 320: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Team, we've got just over three hours till we get the next category. Remember, if it's a winning one for any team, the categories will get called DAILY. Be sure to check in daily at that point.

Also, we might want to each have a book ready to go (keep at least one hundred pages left to read, but feel free to get a start on it at any time) that will fit the DOG/CAT/1 category, since that is a winning one for us.

We're getting close to the end, I can feel it! It's been such fun being on your team! Happy reading this week, gals!

message 321: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments I’ve started a book that will work for a first in a series and it shouldn’t take very long to finish. I’ve got a book chosen for each possible category. I think we have a good shot at winning.

message 322: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Awesome! I think so too, as long as we're all willing to drop as much other stuff as possible to get our books logged in swiftly after that winning category is called. We can do this, team!

message 323: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments It's still not a winner, y'all!

The Eleventh category is...

21. Road (3)

Options for completing this category:
1: read a book with a Road on the cover or in the title.
2: read a book that is third in its series.
3: read a book that starts with the letter T (for three/3)

Be sure to check into your team's chat thread before the next category gets called and let them know your reading plans. If it has been two weeks since you last checked into the team's thread (and it isn't a planned absence), you will be removed from the team. Have fun guys!

Next category will be called: May 24th at approximately 12:01 AM (ET)

----

With this call:

Team one is within one (needs River/Lake/Ocean)
Team two is within one two different ways (needs either flower or hat called)
Team three is within one (needs dog/cat called)

So, basically, this is not a winning category and the next one will be called next week. :)

message 324: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments I'll be reading Peace in the Valley (Double S Ranch, #3) by Ruth Logan Herne , a book 3, for road. I have over 100 pages left, so will finish it tomorrow or so.

Still working on In Order to Live A North Korean Girl's Journey to Freedom by Yeonmi Park for heart. Should just be another day or two on it. I had to slow down in a couple of spots, because it got a bit tough to read (rape and such is never easy for me to read about; this story is breaking my heart).

message 325: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments I’m either going to read A City Not Forsaken (Cheney Duvall, M.D.) by Lynn Morris (#3 in a series), or The Knowing (The Knowing, #1) by Ninie Hammon (starts with a T) for my river book.

message 326: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments Is that a river behind the girl in the picture? It looks like there may be a river in the background on The Weaver's Daughter by Sarah E. Ladd

message 327: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments This week's category is ROAD, not river.

message 328: by Kellyn (new)

Kellyn Roth (kellynrothauthor) | 195 comments Okay, I'm going book-hunting! ;)

message 329: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Happy hunting!

message 330: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments I finished and posted my lighthouse book. Now to finish my road one...

Bess | 2584 comments road....wheeeeeee! lol

message 332: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments I kind of wish it came with a road trip. :)

message 333: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments Crud! Sorry! I’ll look again! That teaches me to try and choose books when I’m on pain meds lol. I’m having a rough week, physically.

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments Andrea wrote: "I kind of wish it came with a road trip. :)"

Road trip? I’m totally in! I’ll pack snacks!!

message 335: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Tiffany, I'm so sorry you're having a rough week! I thought something might be going on, because you're usually on top of what our categories are. Sending you virtual hugs and prayers.

As for the snacks, sounds great! :)

Thank you, we’re getting rain almost every day for the next week. While I know we really need the rain, it always makes my fibromyalgia and back issues flare up, and messes with my energy levels. I’m exhausted but sleeping even less than normal. I almost crawled up the stairs when I got home tonight. I’m praying that I make it to work tomorrow.

message 337: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments Ok so, for my road book, I’ll either finish The Lacemaker by Laura Frantz (starts with T) or read When Butterflies Cry A Novel by Ninie Hammon (has a road on the cover). And I’m totally set if river gets called, lol, but I hope it doesn’t!

message 338: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Father God, please relieve Tiffany's fibro and back pain. Please renew her energy levels despite the rainfall that's needed for the plants in the area. Bring comfort of soul in the midst of the physical pain as well. There is extraordinary joy in the midst of trials and pain, as You know. Help Tiffany find it.

Hugs to you, Tiffany!

Amen! And thank you! Please let me know if y’all need anything at all!

message 340: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments If you want to send some of that rain this way... Haha.

I'm pretty content at the moment, so I can't really think of anything I need. Thank you so much for the offer!

message 341: by Bess (new)

Bess | 2584 comments yes, we lift our sister up in yeshua's name. healing and shalom for tiffany!!

message 342: by Andrea (last edited May 23, 2018 01:01PM) (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments I just finished the last 120 or so pages of my road book and got it posted. Happy reading, gals!

Update on what we need this week:

HEART
Kimberly
Megan

ROAD
Kimberly
Megan
Kellyn
Tiffany

We're doing a wonderful job, ladies! Keep up the great work.

message 343: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments I love seeing those reviews come in. Well done, ladies!

One more heart book, and we'll get the chip for that.
Three more road books, and we'll be completely caught up.

We're doing fabulously, Team! Happy reading!

message 344: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments I have books ready for any category that’s chosen Wednesday night.

message 345: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Sweet! I hope they turn out to be easy, happy reads for you.

Now that I've finished some of those I had going, I have to double-check that I have some ready. I know I have a book one, book four, and standalone handy. If a book two or three gets called, I'll see which Kindle books I have available for that.

message 346: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments Thank you! It’s just been a difficult month, I haven’t read nearly the number of books I usually do. The rainy/overcast weather is kicking my bum. 😔

message 347: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments I know that feeling, Tiffany. I've had to take a nap two days in a row because of the overcast sky just sucking the energy from me. I love rain, but overcast skies without a drop of moisture? Yeah, not so much.

Oh, and I found a book two and three, which I'll be getting a start on tonight, so I've got all my books lined up for this week.

message 348: by Tiffany (new)

I will pray for you to feel better soon. I’m definitely running on less energy and majorly overdoing things. I tend to ignore my limitations until I’ve just completely wiped myself out. I’m glad you found your books for the week. I think we’re pretty well set up, as a team.

message 349: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments I think so too. We're doing so great!

I appreciate your prayers, though I'm feeling fine, other than those couple of moments when I had to succumb to naps. I've been more energized lately, getting up earlier than expected (which is good for me), going to bed earlier than midnight (also good). I would love prayers for this new short story I'm trying to write this week and maybe next. The words are flowing well for now, but I know they can dry up quickly. Please pray that the fountain continues to flow for me till I finish the project and send it off. Thank you!

message 350: by Andrea (last edited May 21, 2018 07:02PM) (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments I'll be praying for you too, Tiffany. Anything specific?
