Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments I wrote out my to-read NetGalley titles yesterday. Um... One hundred thirty-three titles... and counting. XD

That site is so addicting! And I'll have plenty of books to read for the rest of my life, when I combine my NG, paperback, other Kindle, and audio books. Yet, I'm always finding new ones I *must* read... or at least obtain.

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments I have 212 right now lol.

message 53: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Whew! Girl, it looks like we need lots of categories and challenges to help us out. :)

message 54: by Tiffany (last edited Mar 10, 2018 07:38PM) (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments Yes, we do! I guess it’s a good thing I read close to 160 books last year. I wonder if I can top that this year.

message 55: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Nice work! That's a massive number, my friend. Very proud of you.

I think I hit 125 last year. My goal this year is 120, but I'm currently nearly 20 books ahead of schedule. If I can keep up that pace, I'll be really happy with my final tally.

message 56: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments I was on medical leave and partial bedrest from July until January so I had a lot of extra time last year. My goal this year is 130 and I’m at 51 so far, 27 ahead of schedule. I’m hoping to work most of this year but may be having surgery again in fall.

message 57: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Wow, Tiffany, I'm so sorry about all the medical issues! That sounds really rough. Yet, there's an incredible amount of joy to be found in suffering. I hope that has been your experience, as well. Keep us posted on the surgery, if you think about it. I'd love to pray you through it, but I won't probably remember without reminding, considering that's half a year away.

message 58: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments It really was my experience, as well. It gave me lots of extra time with my kids, as well as extra prayer and reading time. And, I did manage to lose the weight I wanted (and then some lol). And God used it to teach me a lot about patience and being able to just be. I also caught up on a lot of rest. I don’t always sleep well but I got extra sleep during parts of last year.

message 59: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Wow. Tiffany, that is quite a testimony of God's great gifts. Thank you for sharing! I'm so grateful He was with you and blessed you so beautifully through that tough time. May He continue to bestow joy upon you.

message 60: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Well done on finishing your book so quickly, Tiffany!

I am currently working on my review for my horse/standalone book. That should be up within the hour.

message 61: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Posted my review. Working now on my free space book.

message 62: by Kellyn (new)

Kellyn Roth (kellynrothauthor) | 195 comments I just started with Bound. Not sure how long it will take me ... this isn't going to be my best week for reading. But I'm trying!

message 63: by Andrea (last edited Mar 11, 2018 05:46PM) (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments You can do it, Kell! Remember, we don't have to have this first book done in the first week. No team can get a bingo yet. We want to stay on track as much as possible, but life does happen and it's wise to grant ourselves a little grace in those moments. Enjoy your time in the book this week.

message 64: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments How does the free space book work?

message 65: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments We each have to read a book for that one. It can be any book that is at least one hundred pages and not a cookbook, manga, etc.

message 66: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments Oh cool! I may work on that one too! Thank you!

message 67: by Kellyn (new)

Kellyn Roth (kellynrothauthor) | 195 comments Can the free space book be finished at any time?

message 68: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Yes, Kell, it may be finished at any time, now that the challenge has begun.

message 69: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (ksnapier) | 705 comments finished Miller's Valley and posted the review. It was so good, in my opinion.

message 70: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Well done, Kimberly!

Only two more reviews to go in order to get our horse rectangle stamped. We're really cruising now!

Thanks!

message 72: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Hey, gals! We'll be getting the new category tonight at midnight (eastern time zone). Who's ready?

message 73: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments I’m so ready!!

message 74: by Megan, ☘I Lost My Shoe ☘ (new)

Megan (celtic_girl) | 6323 comments Mod
I'm nearly ready. I have about 25% left in my horse book.

message 75: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Great job, gals! So proud of you ladies.

message 76: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments The second category is TREE (4).
Options:
1. Tree on cover or in title
2. 4th book in a series
3. Begins with an F (for FOUR)

Looking through my books now.

message 77: by Kellyn (new)

Kellyn Roth (kellynrothauthor) | 195 comments I'm thinking I'm going to use this one:
A Borrowed Dream by Amanda Cabot

But that may not be an option - gonna check with Melanie - so I'll look for an option 2 just in case. :)

message 78: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments I'll be deciding between these two, if Melanie okays the one I asked about:
Waiting for Summer's Return (Heart of the Prairie #1) by Kim Vogel Sawyer The Lost Castle (The Lost Castle #1) by Kristy Cambron

message 79: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (ksnapier) | 705 comments I will read this one: Murder, She Meowed (Mrs. Murphy, #5) by Rita Mae Brown
There is a tree on the cover

message 80: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments I'm loving the plan, ladies. Happy reading!

message 81: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments Harp on the Willow (Mt. Laurel Memories #1) by B.J. Hoff This is the book I’m reading for this one.

message 82: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments I hope you enjoy it, Tiffany!

message 83: by Tiffany (last edited Mar 15, 2018 06:48PM) (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments Thank you! I also have A Borrowed Dream and The Lost Castle on my review list. I’m really enjoying these review books. I hope you enjoy yours, too.

message 84: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Thanks! I hope so too. Aren't review books (mostly) fun?! (I say mostly because I've found a few duds that way.)

message 85: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments They really are. I’ve only found a couple, so far, that weren’t at least mediocre. I’ve had 2,maybe 3 ARC’s that I just couldn’t finish. Mostly I’ve found some amazing authors. And I’ve made some new friends, as well. So, when you add in that it kept me occupied which I was on bedrest last year, it’s been a blessing all around. ☺️💕

message 86: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (ksnapier) | 705 comments I changed my book for this category. I had started reading The View from Rainshadow Bay (Lavender Tides #1) by Colleen Coble Wednesday night and it wasn't until I finished it this morning that I realized there is a big beautiful tree on the cover.
I hope this is ok. I am going to post it if you all agree.
HUGS

Megan (celtic_girl) | 6323 comments Mod
I'm currently reading a book, Phantom Evil (Krewe of Hunters, #1) by Heather Graham , that might work for the new category (there appear to be trees in the background). If it doesn't work, I'll find something else. :)

message 88: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Kimberly, if you had at least 100 pages left to read when the category was called, then I see no problem with that. Congrats on finishing so quickly! Looks like you have plenty of time to work on the free space book over the next week.

Tiffany, I'm glad the ARCs have been such a blessing to you, particularly during all the bedrest.

Megan, that's about as much of a tree as was on the cover of the Cabot book that's been approved by Melanie, so I think that book should work well for this category. Happy reading!

Thanks Melanie! :)

message 91: by Kellyn (new)

Kellyn Roth (kellynrothauthor) | 195 comments My free space book is going to be The Innkeeper's Daughter. Can't link to it from this device, but I will later. :)

message 92: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Ooh, that one looks good, Kell. I've seen it around GR a lot lately.

message 93: by Kellyn (new)

Kellyn Roth (kellynrothauthor) | 195 comments It's ... interesting. A lot of insta-attraction that's a little annoying.

message 94: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Oh, that doesn't sound so good. Hmm. Maybe there's something in it to like. :)

message 95: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Next cat is KEY (2).

I'll be reading Daisies are Forever by Liz Tolsma, the second book in her Women of Courage series. I started it yesterday but am only on page 73.

I haven't started my tree book yet, but it's up next on my Kindle.

What will you all be reading for key? How are your other books coming along?

message 96: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (ksnapier) | 705 comments I think for key I will read The Cat Who Moved a Mountain (Cat Who... #13) by Lilian Jackson Braun

message 97: by Kellyn (new)

Kellyn Roth (kellynrothauthor) | 195 comments Ugh, I'm getting behind! I'm about 70% through with my free space book and I haven't started "tree" yet. I have no idea what to do with "key" ... I think I have a book 2 in my eARCs that hasn't been read, though.

message 98: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments No worries, Kellyn. I haven't started my tree book yet, either. Just keep after it, and I'm sure we'll catch up soon. :)

Kimberly, that book looks interesting. I hope you enjoy it!

message 99: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments This time I’m going to read The House on Foster Hill by Jaime Jo Wright for starting with “T”.

message 100: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments I've heard great things about that story, Tiffany. I hope you enjoy it.
