Bess | 2584 comments I'm on page 223 of A Necessary Deception of 344 pages. So I'll finish this one and start on category 7!

message 103: by Sarah Grace (new)

Sarah Grace Grzy (sarahgraceg) I'm going to be reading An Untamed Heart by Lauraine Snelling for this one. Lots of mountains on the cover and in the book. :D

Very nice!!

Dawn (baseballblondie) | 1166 comments I'm in the mood to reread A Wrinkle in Time. A Wrinkle in Time (Time Quintet, #1) by Madeleine L'Engle

Since it's the first book in the Time Quintet series, it'll be my choice.

Perfect!!!

Bess | 2584 comments Are there mountains on this one?
The Governess of Highland Hall (Edwardian Brides, #1) by Carrie Turansky

message 108: by Hannah (last edited Apr 19, 2018 12:54PM) (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments No, but it's the first in the series, so it would work....I really enjoyed that book!

Bess | 2584 comments Hannah wrote: "No, but it's the first in the series, so it would work....I really enjoyed that book!"

Okay, thanks! I've been promising Ms. Turansky to read it and haven't gotten to it...now is the perfect time!!

message 110: by Karis (new)

Karis | 220 comments I just posted my review for category 5. For Mountain/Hill, I have my book read, but I just need to write my review. It's The One True Love of Alice-Ann by Eva Marie Everson which sounds really mushy, but actually was really well written.

I haven't decided on a book for Fence yet.

But did you see what Melanie pointed out? Both we and team 1 only need one particular category called in order for it to be possible to get bingo. Once one of those categories get called either Hat (which is what we need) or Dog/Cat for team 1, she will start calling categories daily.

message 111: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (baseballblondie) | 1166 comments So we should try to get all caught up prior then.

message 112: by Sarah Grace (new)

Sarah Grace Grzy (sarahgraceg) I think I'm all caught up, except for the most recent category.

message 113: by Karis (new)

Karis | 220 comments Yes, I think so, Dawn. It's a four corner bingo that we're almost at. Mountain/Hill and Eyeglasses are both corners we need. ;)

message 114: by Bess (new)

Bess | 2584 comments I think we're doing great!! Great job to everyone!!

message 115: by Bess (new)

Bess | 2584 comments I finished my mountain/hill book. I'll post the review once I get to a computer.

message 116: by Medomfo (new)

Medomfo | 43 comments Ok, sonI'm reading my Fence category book, Mallory Towers, and my Mountain/ Hill category book, Of Mice and Men( it's a school assignment that needed to gotten rid of).
Let's see how this goes 😂

message 117: by Bess (new)

Bess | 2584 comments Good luck! :D

message 118: by Bess (new)

Bess | 2584 comments The Eighth category is...

Bird (3)

Options for completing this category:
1: read a book with a Bird (3) on the cover or in the title.
2: read a book that is the third book in its series
3: read a book that starts with the letter T (for Three/3)

Be sure to check into your team's chat thread before the next category gets called and let them know your reading plans. If it has been two weeks since you last checked into the team's thread (and it isn't a planned absence), you will be removed from the team. Have fun guys!

Next category will be called: May 3rd at approximately 12:01 AM (ET)

message 119: by Bess (new)

Bess | 2584 comments I'm going to read: The Door (Seventh Dimension #1) by Lorilyn Roberts
It's been in my library for quite some time. Fits due to "The" in the title! :D

message 120: by Medomfo (new)

Medomfo | 43 comments I'm going to read: Notes from a Spinning Planet: Mexico by Melody Carlson.

message 121: by Karis (last edited Apr 27, 2018 08:51PM) (new)

Karis | 220 comments I believe I'm all caught up and my reviews posted besides the most recent category. I read The One True Love of Alice-Ann for Fence, and I used my freebie for Mountain/Hill. I was a bit bummed when they called the category because the day before I had just finished reading a book that had all kinds of mountains on the cover and would have fit perfectly. :(

I also posted a review for the Free Space. ;) (And thanks again, Melanie, for explaining how that worked. )

I'll check back when I decided on a book for Bird.

message 122: by Sarah Grace (new)

Sarah Grace Grzy (sarahgraceg) For this one I'll be reading Maybe It's You (Crisis Team #3) by Candace Calvert . It's book three in the series. :)

message 123: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (baseballblondie) | 1166 comments I haven't decided yet what to read for this category. I've got about 60 pages left in The Golden Vial, the one I'm reading for the One I don't remember the category.

message 124: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (baseballblondie) | 1166 comments Posting my review for Fence.

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) | 9915 comments Mod
Hey guys. This is just a reminder to Dawn and Medomfo that you guys have the free space still unfinished. Any book over 100 pages that is not a cookbook, picture book, manga/graphic novel, or poetry book will work (so long as you didn't use it for a different category). It just needs to be started and finished after the challenge begins.

Just mentioning this in case you didn't realize there was a free space. :D

message 126: by Bess (new)

Bess | 2584 comments The Ninth category is...

13. Lighthouse (1)

Options for completing this category:
1: read a book with a Lighthouse (1) on the cover or in the title.
2: read a book that is the first book in its series
3: read a book that starts with the letter O (for One/1)

Be sure to check your team's chat thread before the next category gets called and let them know your reading plans. If it has been two weeks since you last checked the team's thread (and it isn't a planned absence), you will be removed from the team. Have fun guys!

Next category will be called: May 10th at approximately 12:01 AM (ET)

message 127: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (baseballblondie) | 1166 comments Melanie,
Thank you for reminding me of the freespace. I forgot about it.

I'm going to probably use my current read, The Lost Castle, for the Lighthouse category. It's the first book in the Lost Castle series.

message 128: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (baseballblondie) | 1166 comments IF I want to use my PASS on a specific category, do I just say that in the review thread?

Dawn wrote: "IF I want to use my PASS on a specific category, do I just say that in the review thread?"

Yes, just say so in the review thread. It can't be used on a category that will give the win, if that makes sense.

message 130: by Sarah Grace (new)

Sarah Grace Grzy (sarahgraceg) This one's a hard one . . . If I don't find anything better, I'll probably read Trauma Plan. :)

message 131: by Karis (new)

Karis | 220 comments *FLAILS* What! How did I totally miss this category being called? Yikes! I just have not be reading much. (Like since 8 was called I've read only one book, which doesn't work for the challenge.) I'm going to go through my books tomorrow and see if I can find a good book with a title beginning with "the" to read quickly for category eight, and I am tentatively planning on reading one of the many non-fiction lighthouse books I have lying around for the 9th.

I'll check back in with titles tomorrow hopefully. :)

message 132: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments Karis, have you read Three Little Words? It's short, free, and a fun read. :)

message 133: by Bess (new)

Bess | 2584 comments Karis, breathe! It's just a game for fun. No stress allowed. :D

I'm listening to an audiobook for this category. In the Hall of the Dragon King (The Dragon King, #1) by Stephen R. Lawhead

It's an adventure and fun read. By no means quick though.

message 134: by Medomfo (new)

Medomfo | 43 comments For the Lighthouse category, I’m reading The Coronation by Olivia Lynn Jarmusch.

message 135: by Karis (new)

Karis | 220 comments Hannah wrote: "Karis, have you read Three Little Words? It's short, free, and a fun read. :)"

No, I haven't I'll have to check that one out. Thanks, Hannah. And, Bess, thanks too. *laughs* I needed that reminder. :P

Medomfo! You're going to love it! I so enjoyed the book when I read it a month or so ago. :) I'm actually going to MEET Olivia in exactly 13 days! (Going on a writing retreat!!!!! YAY!)

message 145: by Bess (new)

Bess | 2584 comments That's great!!!

message 146: by Bess (new)

Bess | 2584 comments I'm marking my book DNF. It's just too slow after the riveting fantasy books I've buried myself in with this challenge! Off to find another book for this category...

message 147: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments (Bess, I stopped partway in that one also and had to come back to it a few months later.)
