Danielle (dizzy_booknerd) | 249 comments Hey guys! still trying to figure out my book for Fence (3) but I'll post it later today! :)

message 102: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments I look forward to your review Hannah!

message 103: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 1038 comments I'm reading The Hidden Side by Heidi Chiavaroli for Fence (using the letter T). I had already started this book, however I had hardly read any of it and was only on page 35 when the category was called.

message 104: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Yikes! We are only two away from a bingo. Not ready to be at the end yet.

Just finished my "fence" novel. Ready for Wednesday evening!!

message 105: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments Also posted my review for the Fence book. I want to win :-), but also hoping that a category will be called which is way off for bingo to keep the game going :-)

Brittany | 1038 comments I posted my review for The Hidden Side by Heidi Chiavaroli for the fence book.

message 107: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Can’t wait to read it!!

message 108: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments I'm hoping lighthouse gets called so I can count Pelican Point, which is up next for me.

message 109: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments The Seventh category is...

Mountain/Hill (1)

Options for completing this category:
1: read a book with a Mountain/Hill on the cover or in the title.
2: read a book that is the 1st book in its series
3: read a book that starts with the letter O (for One/1)

Be sure to check into your team's chat thread before the next category gets called and let them know your reading plans. If it has been two weeks since you last checked into the team's thread (and it isn't a planned absence), you will be removed from the team. Have fun guys!

Next category will be called: April 26th at approximately 12:01 AM (ET)

message 110: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments This category makes Team Two ONE away from being able to call bingo (needs Hat called and then could get a four corners bingo).
It also makes Team Three ONE away. They just need Dog/Cat and then they could have a stamp bingo.

When a team gets to where it is possible to have a bingo, then categories will get called DAILY just so others have a chance. You won't need to finish all of those categories, just the ones that help your team out. Hope that makes sense, if not I'll explain more. :)

message 111: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments So the daily calling will only happen if one of the above categories are called next week.

So For this week's category

Mountain/Hill (1)

Options for completing this category:
1: read a book with a Mountain/Hill on the cover or in the title.
2: read a book that is the 1st book in its series
3: read a book that starts with the letter O (for One/1)

I will read From the Start (Walker Family, #1) by Melissa Tagg -- first in the series.

I actually still need to read her books, though I had one of hers on my TBR forever. I did read the novella which was published before From the start, and enjoyed it, so looking forward to a novel from her.

message 114: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments I look forward to reading From the Start. I probably won't get to it until May though.

My current read would qualify. It's the first in a series and I have 200+ pages left.

I may go with Mountain/Hill though as I have several options:

Crimson Mountain by Grace Livingston Hill The Mountain Midwife by Laurie Alice Eakes West for the Black Hills (Dakota Sunrise #1) by Peter Leavell Eden Hill by Bill Higgs Happiness Hill (Love Endures) by Grace Livingston Hill

We'll see what I'm in the mood for once I finish my current two reads. :-)

Happy reading all!!

message 115: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments I'll be going for O and reading One More Song to Sing by Lindsay Harrel . I started the first little bit last night.

message 116: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (dizzy_booknerd) | 249 comments Hi guys! I finally caught up for the past 2 weeks and posted my reviews - sorry for the delay! :) For mountain/hill (1), I'll be reading A Scone to Die For (Oxford Tearoom Mysteries #1) by H.Y. Hanna as its the 1st book in a series.

message 117: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments Great job! It's good to be caught up and ready to go, since the other two teams are within one call each of getting a bingo. :) I need to post my review for the last category....

message 118: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 1038 comments I'm not sure what I will read for Mountain/Hill.

I may read The Mountain Midwife by Laurie Alice Eakes

or maybe What Could Be (Everyday Love Series Book 1) by Jaycee Weaver (which is the first in the series)

message 119: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments I'm all caught up!

message 124: by Bess (new)

Bess | 2584 comments lol...I hear you! I'm reading fillers right now. :D

message 125: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments I tried to read my current book to finish Wednesday to start the next category straight away. But the book is too good, so will probably finish it today.

So might just read samples until the next category is called :-)

message 126: by Bess (new)

Bess | 2584 comments lol...Sarita! Mine is really good today too! I hope to finish it today.

message 127: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Today’s the day! Suspense almost over. :-)

Sarita, glad you loved it!! I’ll be reading that novel in May.

I think you will enjoy it. I wanted to keep it for May with the group read, but then needed it for this category :-)

message 129: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 1038 comments I finished my Mountain/Hill (1st in series) book
What Could Be (Everyday Love Series Book 1) by Jaycee Weaver

message 130: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments Okay, ladies. In case that the category called tonight is a winning category for either of the other teams, we'll need to be ready to check in daily to see what we can get finished if the categories flip to being called daily... I have a couple books that I'm halfway through and that might work for potential categories. I'll do my best not to hold up our team from any potential wins. :)

message 131: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Great reminder Hannah! We’ve got this!!!

message 132: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments Hopefully this week's call will also put us within one space of winning as well and we will have a better chance when the final call comes. I'll have more time to read after next week.

message 133: by Staci (last edited Apr 26, 2018 04:18AM) (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Wow! Bird (3) is our next category.

Some options:

The Raven (Coffey & Hill #2) by Mike Nappa Sing in the Morning, Cry at Night by Barbara J. Taylor The Pelican Bride (Gulf Coast Chronicles, #1) by Beth White The Swan House (The Swan House, #1) by Elizabeth Musser

I also have a few third in series options. Not sure yet...

message 134: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments I'll be reading Pelican Point (Hope Harbor #4) by Irene Hannon . I have about 120 pages left to read, so this an easy category for me.

message 135: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments I have third in series options, but think I will read The Man He Never Was A Modern Reimagining of Jekyll and Hyde by James L. Rubart - starts with T

message 136: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 1038 comments For BIRD, I am going to finish reading The Heart Between Us Two Sisters, One Heart Transplant, and a Bucket List by Lindsay Harrel . I can use it for the T option, or there is actually a bird on the cover in the upper left corner of the book, it is a tiny bird statue on top of the building. I have the paperback, so I can see it on there...anyway, I have been listening to the audiobook, but also have the paperback and I have 129 pages left to finish.

message 137: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments I thought I had seen a bird on that cover but hadn't gone back to see. I'm looking forward to that story!

Loved that book! Good eye on spotting the bird on the cover.

Danielle (dizzy_booknerd) | 249 comments Finally posted my mountain/hill review! :) I'm going to read Two Down, Bun to Go by H.Y. Hanna for Bird (3) as it's the third in a series. :)

message 142: by Sarita (new)

message 143: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments Finished mine last night. I'll have my review up later.

message 144: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments 13. Lighthouse (1)

Options for completing this category:
1: read a book with a Lighthouse (1) on the cover or in the title.
2: read a book that is the first book in its series
3: read a book that starts with the letter O (for One/1)

message 145: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments So I have two options Out of the Storm (Beacons of Hope, #0.5) by Jody Hedlund or The Lightkeeper's Daughter (Mercy Falls, #1) by Colleen Coble

Both has a lighthouse on the cover and both will work for either first in series or starts with O.

I'm in two minds - I have the Colleen Coble series, so seems like the smarter choice, however, I have never read a book by Jody Hedlund, but don't have the series.

Any recommendations between these 2?

message 146: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments I've read Out of the Storm and haven't read a Jody Hedlund that I didn't like so would vote for that one.

message 147: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Forever Safe (same series Sarita!) is a lighthouse book I could read.

Forever Safe (Beacons of Hope, #4) by Jody Hedlund

I may go with the first in the series. I plan to read From the Start this month.

From the Start (Walker Family, #1) by Melissa Tagg

message 148: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments I'm doing first in a series...yes, my lighthouse book of the week just got finished up for the last category!! I hit it a big dent last night before bed, so hopefully I can finish up today.
Cherry Ames, Student Nurse (Cherry Ames, #1) by Helen Wells

I love Jody Hedlund's books and particularly enjoyed that series. There is a short little prequel novel that could give you a taste for if you'd like it. The prequel ties into an overall theme of the series, but you can read book one without having read it if you don't want to. I enjoy Colleen Coble's books, too, although I have not read that one. Naomi Rawlings has a great series and the first book involves a lighthouse, too, if you are looking for other books. Love's Unfading Light (Eagle Harbor #1) by Naomi Rawlings . It's free on kindle.

Oops! I just realized that the Jody Hedlund book Out of the Storm (Beacons of Hope, #0.5) by Jody Hedlund is actually the prequel novel. Sorry! It's a great way to visit the series. It is much shorter than her usual books, but a good story.
