Kait, I think I'm up to date, but lemme know if I've missed any reviews. Thanks!
Great round, ladies! Thanks for all the great chats and reviews. I love hearing everyone's thoughts on their reads. Added a few to my TBR, as always.
Hope y'all have a great summer! Join us for R17 later in the year.

Book - Burn by Suzanne Wright
Shelf - Urban Fantasy
Pages - 301 pages
Date Read - May 22
Rating - 4 stars
Review - Thank you all so much for talking about this book! I had a bad cold into a sinus infection and am not into reading right now because of it. This was definitely what I needed. I loved just about every bit of the world Wright has created and her fantastic cast of demons.
I couldn't quite rate this five stars despite really enjoying it. I didn't love Lucifer. He was a pointless inclusion and reminded me of a meme. I thought the craziness of the imps was much more 'natural' and well done. I also don't feel like the ending was explained much, although the next book does seem to pick up without much time going by so who knows!

Title/Author: Lake Silence by Anne Bishop
Series: Others #6
Date Read: 5/24/2018
Shelf: Shelf - Spinoff
Pages: 414
Rating: ★★★★☆
Review: The sixth book of the Other series departs the Lakeside Courtyard and actually takes place in the small town of Sproing, named after the terra indigene critters that inhabit the area. This area is located on the edge of the Finger Lakes and is very much in the middle of Wild Country and dominated by the Others that allow the humans to follow the rules and co-exist or become prey. New cast of characters with Vicki, a divorced insecure woman that got The Jumble, a run down resort that includes a house, cabins and a beach on prime real estate, from her ex. Also Julien, an ex-cop Intuit that runs the local bookstore, Lettuce Read and a friend from his past, a recently transferred highway patrolman, officer Grimshaw who catches the first murder investigation at the Jumble. It's a pretty good little mystery with Vicki's ex and his womanizing and shady business associates, the Tie Clip club, coming into town to take her resort back. Lucky for Vicki, she's been favored by the others in a similar way that Meg was adopted in Lakeside, so she has allies in the crow guard, bear guard, panther guard and especially Ilya Sanguinati, her self appointed lawyer and head of the Vampires. Also the elders that live deep in the lake and woods and the elementals including the lady of the lake are all looking out for Vicki. Really liked being in the same world but having a different perspective from the sweet blood and abuses. Like to come back and visit this area again and see if any romance blooms from the new characters that we got to meet. The Others in this town are new to cohabitating with the humans and a little more on the wilder side than those found in Lakeside, so that was entertaining too.
