Noble House by James Clavell - DNF

Well, I tried and failed miserably. Granted it is a long book (over 1,300 pgs.) and it is the shortest month, but I thought I had a jump start and enough momentum to power thru it but I only got to pg. 576. I liked it a lot and got more interested as I got further thru it, but amongst work, the Olympics, home life/chores, etc. neither it nor I stood a chance. I will pick it up again (maybe on a long vacation) and try to finish it but for now I move on to the next tag. I had an old boss who would always characterize an arduous, unachievable undertaking that should be avoided as "a land war in China", I never cared for this boss but I do now better appreciate his analogy. I was tracking to a 4 star rating for whatever it's worth.

I tried to read Shogun and dropped it after a few chapters. Didn't like his writing style, could not engage me.
