message 752: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cawils_99) I started and finished The Heir (The Selection, #4) by Kiera Cass over the weekend and I was a bit disappointed with Eadlyn but it was good overall. Now I'm restarting City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments, #2) by Cassandra Clare .

I'm just about to finish up Immaculate.

I'm still reading A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and To Kill a Mockingbird. I'm going to be starting Making Pretty any day now, and I'll probably read Emancipated soon too.

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 318 comments Since I last posted I've finished Bone, Vol. 3 Eyes of the Storm (Bone, #3) by Jeff Smith Bone, Vol. 4 The Dragonslayer (Bone, #4) by Jeff Smith Bone, Vol. 5 Rock Jaw, Master of the Eastern Border (Bone, #5) by Jeff Smith , Locke and Key Vol. 4 Keys to the Kingdom by Joe Hill Locke and Key Vol. 5 Clockworks (Locke & Key) by Joe Hill Locke & Key, Vol. 6 Alpha & Omega by Joe Hill , and The Curse of the Wendigo (The Monstrumologist, #2) by Rick Yancey

4 more books left in the Bone series, a fantasy both epic and hilarious

Locke and Key is... well kind of indescribable. Recommended for "mature" readers. So long as you feel you fall under than umbrella and are not opposed to reading comics, I highly recommend.

And Curse of the Wendigo was just amazing. I really, really like The Monstrumologist, but its sequel blew it out of the water, IMO.

Next up for me, Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles, #2) by Marissa Meyer

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 318 comments Finished Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles, #2) by Marissa Meyer Last night. Absolutely loved it, just as much as I loved Cinder. Both 5 stars :)

Up next, Cress (The Lunar Chronicles, #3) by Marissa Meyer

message 759: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (booktasticnerd87) | 6 comments I am currently reading Ignite Me (Shatter Me, #3) by Tahereh Mafi , Girl of Nightmares (Anna, #2) by Kendare Blake , and An Ember in the Ashes (An Ember in the Ashes, #1) by Sabaa Tahir . I am almost Done with Ignite Me. It's part of a read along that I am in. I got bored with Girl of Nightmares and I am actually debating on if I shall finish it. And I am really enjoying An Ember in the Ashes as it is also really good and part of a read along that I am part of.

message 760: by Susan (new)

message 767: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 318 comments I finished The Isle of Blood (The Monstrumologist, #3) by Rick Yancey last night, and while the first two books were excellent, this one won me over just a little more because of the way Yancey focused on certain relationships and how he made me flip flop on my opinions of certain characters.

Up next Sidekicks by Jack D. Ferraiolo , a cape and tights story by an Emmy winning TV writer. Should be fun :)

message 768: by Emily (new)

Emily Shaw (emilyshaw16) | 313 comments Haven't posted here in a while and I'm currently reading a bunch of books oops.

Listening to Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor and reading the ebook of Anna and the French Kiss (Anna and the French Kiss, #1) by Stephanie Perkins at work

Then just been alternating between these few at home. Not in love with any of them so I just keep rotating haha
Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades, #1) by E.L. James Playlist for the Dead by Michelle Falkoff Code Name Verity (Code Name Verity, #1) by Elizabeth Wein

I just started the first few chapters of Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1) by Sarah J. Maas though! Super excited to finally start this series!

message 769: by Lilian (new)

Lilian (random_girl_here) I'm reading Red Queen (Red Queen, #1) by Victoria Aveyard for my school book club.

message 770: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 318 comments Just finished Sidekicks by Jack D. Ferraiolo and am blown away by how good it was. Wasn't ready for that at all, I got it as something light to break up my darker reads. It is, IMO, every bit as good as the Lunar Chronicle and Monstrumologist books I've been reading recently. Different, but equal in terms of how much I enjoyed. I doubt I'll convince many to check it out. Trust me, I almost passed on it. But if you do skip it, you're passing on what might very well end up being my favorite read of 2015.

Up next, finishing off the Monstrumologist with The Final Descent (The Monstrumologist, #4) by Rick Yancey *excited*

message 771: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 318 comments Just finished The Final Descent (The Monstrumologist, #4) by Rick Yancey Not my favorite series, but one that stands alone in a very unique way. I doubt I'll ever read another series too similar to this. Fantastic.

Now I'm starting Fairest (The Lunar Chronicles, #3.5) by Marissa Meyer

That's how I felt about Fairest. I really think it would have worked better as a full-fledged prequel. That would have been amazing. :)

I ended up at the weird conclusion that, for me, Fairest would have been better if it was either much shorter or much longer. I did enjoy it though, as you know since you had a similar experience with it :]

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 318 comments I finished Bone, Vol. 7 Ghost Circles (Bone, #7) by Jeff Smith today. Bone is phenomenal. I don't know how I've been a comic reader all my life and never got to this series before now.

Up next, Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna, #1) by Kendare Blake

message 785: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 318 comments Angie wrote: "Tommy that is a really good book."

It sounds like exactly the read I've been looking for. I got the second book as well :]

message 786: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 318 comments I'll come back and share thoughts once I finish it. I read the first chapter of Anna and am getting a Supernatural vibe from it. If that keeps up, I'll end up loving the book almost for sure.

message 787: by Susan (new)

Susan | 169 comments Finished up The Magic Shop by Justin Swapp . Excited to be starting I Belong to the Earth by J.A. Ironside . Re-reading The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1) by Rick Riordan on the side :-)

message 788: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 318 comments I just finished Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna, #1) by Kendare Blake I liked it, but didn't love it. There were more pros than cons though and I did become invested in the characters so I'll for sure read the sequel.

Up next I'm gonna read the first book in a series I've meant to read for years Midnight for Charlie Bone (The Children of the Red King, #1) by Jenny Nimmo

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 318 comments Just finished Midnight for Charlie Bone I really liked it, but can't go so far as to say "loved it". I am intrigued by the rest of the series, though.

Up next, some comics reading Bone, Vol. 8: Treasure Hunters while I decide what novel to read next.

message 793: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 318 comments Up next I'll either read Bone, Vol. 9 Crown of Horns (Bone #9) by Jeff Smith (the final book in the Bone series, not counting the 2 prequels and 1 companion book(I'll be reading those as well)) or Girl of Nightmares (Anna, #2) by Kendare Blake
