Hey everyone!I'm from Indiana, but have lived in Florida for almost 20 years.
My favorite genres are business, selfhelp, biographies, and a dash of fiction. I like to read books while simultaneously listening to the audiobook haha

Hi Frank you snuck in on me while I was typing welcome to the group! I so wish my brain could read a book while listening to another book that is talent! I love a good memoir any that you would suggest? Please look around and let us know if you need anything. Welcome again I look forward to seeing what you read.
@BlagicMy mind couldn't take listening to one book while reading another lol I use the same book. So I get an ebook and while I'm reading, I play the audiobook. It makes everything stick in my mind better. Seeing the words and hearing them at the same time is sweet haha
On another note, when I watch Netflix, I watch with the closed captioning on. I guess that's the same thing huh?
Gaurav wrote: "hi everyone i am Gaurav from India, interested in poetry , fiction, n love, i want read 36 books."Hi, Gaurav welcome to the group happy to have you! I hope you find a challenge you love and a book to go with it. There is lots to do and even more to read. Best of luck with your challenge look forward to seeing what you read this year.
Hi all. I'm Chris, originally from Iowa but currently living in Missouri. I'm a college professor who really enjoys studying issues of identity, social movements (especially feminism), and rhetoric/performance. As such, I tend to lean toward memoir and nonfiction essays/theorization, but I also appreciate good fiction, especially from the perspective of characters who are part of a marginalized group. I found this page just by browsing the community section. My goal this year is only 20 books because of the demands of my job, but I'm determined to make those 20 meaningful and really let myself engage and think about them. Just finished a book I did not care for at all, but moving on to Postcards from the Edge and so far really dig it. Feel free to check out my profile for more information and for my reviews.

I am always looking for memoirs to dive into any suggestions are welcome. Look around and get comfortable with all the threads we have and let us know if you have questions. I will link our Nonfiction Challenge that we have this year because I think it might be right up your ally.

Hi everyone!I’m Fernando, from Brazil and relatively new on this platform. I’m enjoying so much that fortunately this community keeps me reading a lot.
I like both fiction and nonfiction subjects but, for now I’m really enjoying read the the classics.
I’ve set and update my personal challenge 4 times. First 28 books, then 36, 48 and now it's 50. I know isn’t that much but, believe me, for me it is(I had years on the past that I didn’t read 1 book during the entire year).
I looking forward to connecting with you guys!
Thank you
Hi Fernando welcome! I am glad that Goodreads keeps you motivated to read this group will only add to it. Having a mix of Fiction and Nonfiction makes for looks of fun reads. I think 50 is a great number and I am sure you will do great. I tell myself that it's not about the number of books but enjoying them, last year I drove myself crazy trying to read 230 and still came up short so just have fun! Look around if you need anything let us know.

Helloo there ! I'm Mariam, I'm moroccan and I love reading (duh why would I be on Goodreads if I didn't). I read any book that falls into my hands that I find interesting or that has been recommended to me. So yeah, I don't really care about genres. I found this group ( and I'm really glad I did) by looking up 2018 reading challenge on Goodreads, I just felt so alone in the challenge I needed supportive people I can talk to about books. Finally, my reading goal this year is 45 books and I'm at 20%. Have a nice day !

Hey guys! My name is Ketsyaris, Ketsy for short. I’m from Puerto Rico but I live in Florida. I love Goodreads and these kind of groups because it allows me to interact with people who love to read just as much as I do and make me feel welcomed for loving it. The kind of books I like to read are mainly Fantasy/Fiction, Contemporary, and Thrillers. I joined this groups in hopes that I won’t fall into a book slump and will be motivated by you guys and vice versa. This year I hope to read at least 25 to 30 books but who knows, with school and life, it might not be possible but that’s the goal and dream.
Hi everyone! I'm new to Goodreads and found this group when searching for an online book club. I'm from London, ON, Canada (aka "the boring London") but I do love my hometown. I tend to read fiction but am open to new genres. Currently reading "Look for Me" by Lisa Gardner. My reading challenge for 2018 was 10 novels; however, I am on book 6 already! I have always loved to read but would have never referred to myself as a "bookworm" (although now I may be able to!)
Looking forward to connecting!

Happy reading look around and let us know if you need anything.

Hello from suburban Chicago! I've recently joined this group after searching for Goodread's groups doing the annual Pop Sugar reading challenge. I've been in a private reading group with the PS challenge for three years and wanted to branch out for new ideas.
I've come to appreciate so many different book genres that I'd never taken time to read prior to this challenge. Who knew that I'd enjoy Historical Fiction, dystopian novels, or want to reread several classics from hogh school or college!
I used to be an avid reader before taking way too many Lit classes in one semester at college! Decades later, I'm finally rebuilding my reading stamina and enjoying books once again.
In addition to creating daily reading time with my children, I now make sure to carve out some time for my own reading. I seem to have lots of time to read as of late since I'm recoving from a recent shoulder surgery.
I look forward to getting acquainted with you all!
Happy Page Turning!
Hi everyone! I'm residing in Oman currently. I liked the color challenge so I joined the group too. I haven't checked out other challenges here. Look forward to making friends with you!
Hi everyone!I'm Patricia and I'm from Brazil.
Completely new to the Goodreads community so I'm still learning my ways in here! hahaha
I recently picked up the habit of reading, and my challenge for this year is to read 24 books! :)
It's nice to meet all of you, and I hope you all have a wonderful week!

I wanted to let you know that we as a group are also doing the pop sugar challenge if you would like to join us feel free. Please look around and join in where you are comfortable. My name is Jennifer and my goal is to read 50ish books "FOR PLEASURE" by the end of 2018. I am a PhD student in education, so I read books and articles constantly, but it's all work related. I absolutely love the work that I do, however, I need to incorporate some "me" time. Looking forward to seeing everyone's updates!
Hi Jennifer welcome! Congratulations on working on your PhD thats an awesome accomplishment. I hope you find tons of books to love this year and tons of "me" time while reaching your goals. Please look around and join anything that you find interesting. We are all friendly and love books you are in great company. Welcome again and best of luck.

Hello everyone! I'm Virginia, I'm from Argentina. I like to read all kinds of books and I'm always looking for new experiences. My goal this year is of 12 books.
This is the first time I join a group on Goodreads so I'm very exited!
Hello! I'm Allie and I'm from New Zealand :)
I really enjoy reading YA books, in particular Sci-fi (I'm a sucker for space!).
I have a goal of 100 books this year, which I'm pretty sure I can achieve since I'm already nearly at 25 books.
This group showed up on my feed somehow and I couldn't resist joining!
Hello everybody, I'm Vanessa, 21 and I'm from Germany.
Last year I had a goal of 12 books which I surpassed by double that I believe, so this years goal is 24 though I hope it will be more.
I read a lot of young adult fantasy with all kinds of stuff sprinkled in between in German and English, but mostly English.
I will be attempting the Color Challenge in this group, still have to plan it and go through my books to see what fits, but that's going to be fun :D
Happy to be here, by the way.
Hi all! I'm Dana, I'm from Western MA and live in an apartment with my husband and our 2 adorable cats. The books I generally go for are historical fiction, young-adult, non-fiction, and most recently I've been into more romance. I found this group just by searching, I was trying to find a reading challenge and this group just fit so perfectly with what I'm looking for. My reading goal this year is to read 50 books, this is my largest reading goal so far in the few years that I've set myself a goal. I'm also doing the color challenge and the A-Z challenge just because it's so fun to see what other categories my books can fall into and helps to give me a variety of books rather than getting stuck.I am looking forward to meeting fellow readers and finding new books to add to my to-read list :)
A.L.Rossmaur wrote: "Hello, I am from the Library, the YA section to be specific, but I do like to travel to other sections sometimes, mainly Austen the capital of Classic, but really the whole library though not often..."Hi and welcome to the group! Your introduction has to be one of the most original I have read. I am so happy you tripped up and ended up with a wonderful group of people who love to read. I wish you the best of luck with your goal.

Hello everyone! My name is Becky (or Rebecca) and I live in Texas. I have been a member of GR for a few years but have really been utilizing the site since I have cut way back on most social media and tv. I also have returned to College during a midlife career change and am employed as a Notetaker. Getting paid to sit in on College classes is amazing, I love my job. Anyway, I have started my first challenge and have just set a number and choose the books as I go. Do we need a set list to participate? I listen to many books as I am a hand spinner and weaver. Working with fiber and listening to books is my zen- a retreat that replenishes my soul and provides immense enjoyment and peace. Sorry for the long post, I look forward to meeting you all!
