Hello, everyone. My name is Liam and I am from Georgia, United States. I like to read books that are in the Young Adult section and have cliffhangers. I found you guys by clicking "My group discussions" and clicking "2018 reading challenge." My reading goal is to read 50 books and I have already read 35 of them. I think later I will change my goal to 100 books.

You are more than halfway done I hope to see you reach 100 books.
Hey there, I'm Emma and I'm from Lincolnshire, UK. I enjoy rereading Harry Potter at least once every year and reading fantasy when not reading Harry Potter.
While scrolling through Booksandlala's profile I saw something about this group and checked it out, purely out of curiosity.
My reading goal is technically set to 12 but I want to read 25 this year to beat the 20 I read last year. Already matching last year so just 5 left this year.
Hello everyone! I’m from Texas and obviously love reading. I kinda fell of the reading wagon a little bit and I am now getting back to it. I try to read a little of everything, if the blurb or the cover looks interesting I’ll probably read it.

Hello Everyone, I'm Vinit from India. I love to read literature, fantasy and Mysteries. My goal is to read at least 2 books per month for last few months of the year.Looking forward to connect with you guys..
Cheers :)
Hey everyone!I'm from Germany and I started reading a lot of books this year. I fell in love with dystopias like Maze runner or the hunger games. Yet I'm open minded to read new books of different genres. I'm at the beginning of a journey which I hope will last long.
I found this group right after I registered my account here on goodreads and I thought I would find some new books I could read and that it would be nice to connect with other book lovers! Currently I'm trying to read one book a month and my goal is to read even more, I'm already getting addicted to reading :D
I'm happy to be part of this community and to connect with others.
Hello!I write this comment out of my bed in Germany where I live right after I woke up.
Currently, I don't read books and that bothers me. It stopped after I came back from my trip to England although I bought some books there. I miss that I read but I lost my motivation. I hope I can get it back through this group. It is my first group on Goodreads. Before, I just kept track of my books.
Reading for me is also a tiny bit like a job because I want to write reviews about the books. So, I always have pen and paper next to me for notes. This goal I have in mind for about a year now and I didn't achieve it yet. But it is my dream that I have a little community, really small, who read my post and connection to those people.
I think I am a person that reads the popular books but just special ones. My favourite authors are John Green and Stephen King. I think everybody knows those two but although they are so popular, they write special books.
John Green's books can be read by young people that are twelve or maybe younger and they just see the wonderful but also tragically love story between Hazel and Augustus or just a crazy girl that leaves a town and Quentin doesn't have his happy end and so on. But there are so many things that you can learn from these books. John Green writes realistic novels about youth love. It isn't always a happy end and being a teenager and growing to a young adult is absolutely not easy. I see a lot in this books because you also learn about mental health problems. If you project one's thought you might be more open to other people and can understand their problems. I think, reading his books gave me a lot of hope.
Stephen King is an incredible author for me. I read about seven books by him and I was always impressed. He has incredible mad ideas and can write excellent books. King's books are masterpieces! I always wonder how he can keep track of all his notes. I also ask myself how he learned all of this. For me, it is breathtaking.
One thing that I really enjoy: You never know what will happen. The plots in his books are so unexpectable and always when I start one of Stephen King's masterpieces and never thought that it would end how it ended and I never thought of the incredible story from start to end.
I am very excited now and I hope I will find more authors and incredible stories during my time in this group!
Have a good reading session every day!

Hey Jeggles!
I am so happy for you found this hobby! Reading is amazing because you always have a story that everybody could read but it is still your own fantasy that makes it unique.
I appreciate that you would like to try new genres. I also would like to try out new authors and other books that I normally wouldn't read. I want to broaden my horizon. Maybe we can recommend some books to each other.
Good luck with your reading goal!

Hey Ambre!
I also lost reading but don't worry we will get back because reading is the best that you can do. I think one problem is that I spent my free time with Netflix and YouTube. Also, I have a lot of homework and after school I am dead. But I also want to come back to reading because I love it so much.
I hope I will hear more from you!

Hello Emma!
Wow, you read Harry Potter every year?! It took me over a year to read all the books and I read the German version which is shorter, I think. That's really impressive!
Which other fantasy books do you recommend?

I am always impressed by people who read so many books! My reading goal is to read 15 books this year but I am not so strict with myself. I want to set a goal for this month and go on like that.
I would like to read new books which would you recommend?

Hello everyone! I'm quite new to goodreads but I am looking forward to being a part of it more. Book lover of course and can't wait to talk with more of you. This month I have read some really great books ... bit of a range in genre. I read "Band of Brothers" then onto "Big little lies". Both of these I loved. Just yesterday, I finished The Collector by John Fowles. Haven't quite made my mind up about it yet.
Looking forward to getting involved into some of the challenges! X

I am also very new here but not on Goodreads. But I just used it to keep track.
Currently there is a very cool challenge. It's called "Built your Dream Team". You have to think of an adventure and who you will need. It is a very creative challenge but so interesting! Maybe you like to join us.
I hope you will have a great time here and you can achieve your reading goals!

Hello :) my name is Raluca and I come from Romania. I love books, obviously 😊 i read mostly historical books, historical fiction, thriller, science, mistery. My all time favorite book is East of Eden by Steinbeck. I challenged myself to read this year almost 100 books, because I don’t have as much time to read. Another challenge is to read also in german, which is something i am struggling with now.
I am glad to be in a group of people who love books.
Hi :D my name is Laura, I’m a fifteen year old bookworm from Luxembourg. My favorite genres are contemporary and low fantasy YA but also some classics from time to time, and I mostly read English and German books, but sometimes French too.
My reading goal for this year is 52 books, but I’ll try to read 104 (so +- 2 books a week).
A few of my all time favorite books are The perks of being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky, Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy, and Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green & David Levithan. Other authors I enjoy are Becky Albertalli, Kerstin Gier, Rick Riordan and Cassandra Clare. I also love the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling.
I joined this group because I love talking about books with other people, and I don't know that many bookworms irl.
Hi Everyone! Happy to be part of this group. I live in an isolated area so I sure need this feedback and group dynamic. I live on an island off the coast of South Carolina in USA, about 50 miles south of Charleston SC. My goal will be a monthly one- I think that would be a good start for me. I usually like to read 2 books at a time- one fiction and one non-fiction depending on my mood. LOVE Historical fiction and fantasy, adventure[real life!], Sci Fi, anything fun and informative. This is a great way to be part of a group without having to climb into my car and drive to a function.
Happy Reading everyone!!

Welcome again and happy reading.
Hi everyone !My name is Quentin, I'm from Paris (France) and I'm not bilingual (one day maybe?).

Hi everyone- Lindsay here! I’m from Kentucky but have recently moved to Erie, PA (aka snow capital of the world). I’ve spent the last 7+ years reading almost exclusively medical texts to complete my clinical pharmacist training and I am unbelievably ready to start reading for pleasure instead of business! Currently I am on a contemporary fiction/fantasy binge. My reading goal for 2018 is 100 new reads and I’m finally glad to share that with people who won’t get all deer-in-headlights over such a lofty goal. Can’t wait to meet you all!!
Hi my name is Erica. I live in Georgia with my husband, 4 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 3 parrots, 2 pot bellied pigs, 1 goat, 5 ducks, and lots of chickens. We are originally from NH. My husband and I met and dated in high school and we are both avid readers. (Although I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who reads as much as he does lol) Our idea of date night is an evening strolling through a book store without our kids in tow. I read a variety of genres, but my favorites are historical fiction, mystery thrillers (like Gone Girl and anything by Mary Kubica) and books that are twists on fairy tales.
Hi everyone! I’m from Phoenix, Arizona. I’m an artist (oil painter), and listen to audiobooks while I paint everyday. I love fiction, historical fiction, and memoirs. My favorite books that I’ve listened to this year are ‘A Fine Balance’ and ‘A Long Walk to Freedom’. On average, I’m lucky enough to listen to 20 books a month. I just joined Goodreads and would love some recommendations.

Hello! I'm Kelly. I'm from New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. I have a wide range of books on my shelf, but fantasy fiction is my favorite genre to read. Some of my favorite books include The Harry Potter series, The Night Circus, the Grisha trilogy, and the Wicked series. Let's also include anything by Neil Gaiman. I know I am late joining the 2018 reading challenge group, but have been participating all year. I set my goal at 10 books to keep myself from rushing through the books to meet my self-imposed goal. I like to take my time reading, and enjoy the story the author has built.
Hi! My name is Amanda, I'm from Papillion, Nebraska and am currently in my senior year at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (GBR). I have been participating in my reading challenge all year but have kind of hit a slow point in reading because my classes have been taking up most of my time! I am pre-med and getting a degree in Microbiology with a minor in Biochemistry so I don't have much time for reading for pleasure. However, I'm hoping that will pick up a little bit as a relaxing outlet!! I love all genres of books and am currently trying become better versed in classics that I feel like every avid reader should read at some point!!
Hi my name is Anna. My favorite books to read are somethings that are related to me or to my family. I found out about this group by doing a lot of research about joining a book group. Plus I just want to read more with other people like you and not just talking about the book in front of my family.
Hello I am from Earth(i am not really comfortable telling strangers where i am from)
I like to read science fiction and Detective novels
I think i was looking at someone else's profile and this group was on it.
My reading goal is 8 books, of which i have already read 6. I may change it later.
Also, Rachealnyc, 100 books???! Where do you find the time?
Hi!! I'm Monica from India. I love reading books. Actually I used to hate reading books but then 2 years ago I found my right book. Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan happened. From then on I've been reading immensely. Books are my best stress buster. I read mostly fantasy, sci-fi, adult fiction, sometimes romance(something like John Green's).So, yeah! Here I am, as part of this group am very excited to read!
Hi my name is Sarah Millett, I am 27 years old and I am from London. I like all kinds of books but I mostly read biography or teen books.
Well a few days ago I joined Goodreads and I started the 2018 reading challenge even through we are already in October and I saw this group and I thought that I will join.
As I have only just started and where we are already in October I thought I would have a starting goal of 5 books if I see that I am doing well I might up the goal but of course next year I will do the challenge from the start of the year.
I can't wait to do this challenge because I used to love reading all the time and now I want to get back into it.
Hi everyone.- Where are you from?
I'm from Brazil, but I live in New Jersey since 2007 and like all of you, I love to read. I've been on Goodreads for a while but unfortunately not that many of my friends share the same habit of reading books as I do, so I found in Goodreads a good way to keep myself motivated.
- What kinds of books do you like to read?
I like fiction, fantasy, suspense and self-improvement books.
- How did you find our group?
I've been for a while in the Goodreads and only today my curiosity to navigate in the website sparks on me, that's when I found the community area.
- What's your reading goal?
My goal is to enjoy and make sure all the information is being absorbed, so I did not stipulate a book goal total.
Thank you all!
Hi all!My name is Terry and I live in Arlington, TX. I work part time and am a grandmother the rest of the time! I have 4 beautiful grandkids and 1 more coming in the spring.
I have been a reader all my life and read from many different genres. I guess I'm not a huge Romance fan, but then I ADORE Georgette Heyer and other Regency writers, so I guess I can't even say that! Maybe hard core sci-fi is out of my comfort zone. But I'm always open to good suggestions.
I have been poking around the groups on Goodreads and never found one that really resonated with me, until this last month. I have joined here and one more group (Reading the Detectives - which reads mysteries from the Golden Age).
My goal for this year was 60 books, and I'm already at 58, so maybe I should set a new goal!
I'm looking forward to meeting y'all!

I finished watching Big Little Lies and thought the show was amazing and followed the book, which was a great surprise! I am only a few episodes into Sharp Object but so far it is a great show as well and very similar to the book too!
