'Little Fires Everywhere' to be Adapted for TV

Celeste Ng's sophomore novel LITTLE FIRES EVERYWHERE is being adapted for TV. Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington will star in and executive produce the series, with Ng acting as a producer. Liz Tigelaar (“Life Unexpected,” “Casual”) will serve as showrunner, and is also set to write the adaptation.

Y'all, I am so excited for this adaptation. It hasn't been bought by a network or streaming platform yet, but judging from what entertainment articles are saying, there is a lot of interest surrounding this project. Since the project is essentially a mini-series, I'm hoping that the producers hire some Asian American writers, directors, and DPs.

Hooray that an Asian-American writer is getting such acclaim. What surprised me when I read the books was that it wasn't an Asian-themed book. One part of the book is about Bebe Chow, but the book is set in the US and deals with the struggles of different women with their babies.
