Nomination thread timing question

I think a shorter cycle would be fine. 1 week for nominations, 1 week for voting should be plenty. If you think you need more nominations, you can pull from prior months non-winners.
Rephrasing my main question: does it matter how much time there is between announcing the choices and the end of the month?
If I post the nomination threads this weekend, the results would be announced the weekend of the 17th, giving us a full two weeks to wait for the official start of the month and to have the new set of books distracting us from the March books. If I wait until next weekend, there would be barely a full week for those who rely on libraries to try to get the books.
If nobody cares, that's great, and I'll just post them when I feel like it. If there are people who want more than a week, I'll post this set this weekend. And if there are those who feel rushed if the books are announced in the middle of the month, I'll wait until next weekend.

Brian, here is an example nomination thread:

I will post three nomination threads in this folder either this weekend or next weekend, for books for us to discuss in April.

I don't like starting the process for April at the beginning of March, so later would be better for me. But I understand about the library issue.

Thank you the process is clear to me now .
My experience has been that people often need two weeks to obtain the book. This is because some people need to order an English version to a non-English speaking country. So, I think you just work backward from there. I know it's hard doing all this while working full-time so it's also up to your availability and we'll get by either way. :)
I hadn't considered that scenario. Is there anybody in this group who has to do this, who doesn't just get an ebook instead (instant download)?
I buy physical books relatively often and they usually take a few days to be delivered, sometime longer.
Not sure about sci-fi readers, but I know quite a few people in who read fantasy in English and can't get it locally.
Unless someone in this group asks for more than a week, I'll stick to "at least one full week, but not two".

I don't think we need three weeks for nominations. March started right before a weekend, so I have an extra week to play with.
QUESTION: would you prefer extra time after the books are chosen (so post the threads ASAP), or try to keep the period between books being chosen and we start to read them shorter?
