March 2018 Group Read: Carve the Mark

AAAAHHH OH MY GOODNESS. Okay. So. I know a lot of people didn't like this book, but I personally loved it. Seriously. Well done, Veronica, well done. I can only hope that you don't kill of Cyra or Akos in The Fates Divide. That would be terrible. Anyhoo, I loved this book for a lot of reasons, some of which are:
1. Possible lesbian relationship!! Yes!!!!!
2. Adorably Cyra/Akos stuff.
3. Oooooh Cyra sass is strong in this book.
4. Ryzek is actually a very interesting character/villain. And he's really smart.
5. A lot of diversity.
6. I know I already said this, but it needs emphasis: POSSIBLE LESBIAN RELATIONSHIP!!!!
7. I really loved all the other characters.
Now, some things I didn't like in this book:
1. Um. Nothing that comes to mind immediately...
2. Still got nothing.
3. Yeah, no.

See? It's a great book! You know, in my opinion...

Oh man! I read this book when it came out, and it wasn't my favorite. There are a few aspects of it I did enjoy, however: YES, POSSIBLE LESBIAN RELATIONSHIP; diversity; Cyra was totally sassy; Akos and Cyra were pretty cute together. Better than Tobias and Tris.
I can totally see why you love it! Nice pick.

I agree that it wasn't my favourite book in the world, but I thought it was pretty good. The sass was probably one of my favourite parts, though. I love it when characters get super sassy. I agree with your comment on "better than Tobias and Tris". I ship it, but I don't feel like they had the right... I don't know... anything.
