One method Shel Silverstein used to take you back to your childhood was key words that made you think of memories. For example in the poem "sick" it talks about a little kid playing sick so he didn't have to go to school and one time or another we have all did the same thing. I also learned that simple is better. When writing we don't always have to use big or complicated words to make our writing effective. The last thing i learned in this book is to let go sometimes and let your imagination flow with different ideas, not every piece of writing has to be or feel real.
