I just finished this and OMG I am so so mad. I loved everything until that last few chapters. I still love this story and I can't wait to see what happens but I need it to be fixed.
I need book 2 NOW!!!!!
I have so many questions. Some of it I of course saw coming in some way but Sarai.....no way. Minya....I have wanted her death for so long in this story she is just pure evil incarnate. I almost felt back for her at times when she relived the massacre and then again right towards the end about her growth but then she went and did something horrible.
For me I'd have to let Sarai go. I'm sure she'd rather move on than be a play thing. And I think Lazlo knows this so hopefully they can use that. I mean with Lazlo's gift he could just encase Minya in a tiny room and force her hand. Just saying. Never bow to someone that manipulative.
I have way more thoughts but my brain is still spinning. Will return when I can focus!

So update. I was just messaging Bogdana about the book waiting on her to finish so I can discuss and she just go to the fall and mentioned the prologue...I had completely forgotten the prologue so I went back and re-listened and OMG HOW DID I FORGET THAT????? I was so convinced it wasn't here at first since book 2 is literally her title but nope how wrong was I?
I just found the page in my notebook where I wrote down my comments about Sparrow/ Ruby/ Feral. My little heart was broken for Sparrow seeing this guy she actually had feelings for with her sister who was just using him out of boredom....awe. Now I think Ruby is starting to think more like her sister in that way that maybe something more but Feral did seem to think of it as a challenge (though given how she treated him I can understand it) but he also sees something in her. I know Sparrow said she isn't interested in him any longer and I'm glad they were able to talk and seemed to move past it given how much they are going to need one another in the sequel. Anywho I think I may be done now but who knows.
So it's taken me a while to gather my thoughts and post something. I am so completely in love with this book and these characters. Even Minya, who is quite horrible, is such a well flushed villain. There is no love-hate relationship with her. It is pure full on hate!
I am sorry Eve that I didn't break the news about the prologue more gently. I could tell from our texts that you had completely forgotten about it. :(
So one thing that gives me hope is the fact that even though Sarai is a ghost, Lazlo could still touch her so maybe there's some hope there after all. I really can't wait to see where the story goes next.
Also, since Lazlo is a half-god I wonder what effect will that have for the people of Weep. Will there be war in the next book, or will the people of Weep become allies against Minya and her army of ghosts. What scares me is the fact that the next book is called The Muse of Nightmares. While I know that's Sarai, she seemed to have moved passed that, meaning she stopped terrorizing the dreams of Weep's citizens. However, now that she is under Minya's control I am scared that she will wreck havoc on the people of Weep and make it difficult for them to trust any of the half-gods.
All in all, all I really can say is that I need The Muse of Nightmares now!!!!

Yes I had forgotten but it's okay I needed to be reminded that prologues can sneak up on you like that and to remember them better. I think I had just gotten so caught up in everything I had moved away from it. Yes I worry Minya will control her too.
