And you can't reread a book read already for this challenge. Not an issue this week but if you read (or reread) Eg Salvation by Sloane Kennedy in week 1, you can't use that same book again during the challenge :)

Week #2: read a book with an MC with blonde hair and/or fair skin.
Bookcover/link:

Page numbers: 235
How the book qualifies: #5 on Blonde on the Cover list

And ..."
Thanks, Jane (and Grace too). That'll help if my "can't get through a new book" reading slump continues to be a problem.

Week 2
Option 1
7. Snow white was 'fair' - read a book with an MC with blonde hair and/or fair skin. You must either quote the optional list used OR include in your post the sentence that qualifies that the MC is fair or blonde.
Optional lists in case you need to know your book's MC is 'fair'.
Sexy Blonde Heros Historical Contemporary and Paranormal Romance
Best Blonde Heroes of Contemporary Romance
Sunlight Blonde Heroines in Contemporary Romance Novels
Blonde on the cover
MM readers - you'll have to do a word search if a book isn't already added to a list!
Option 2
Key date: 15 September 2017
Please ensure you follow the format shown in msg 3 of your team threads. when you post your selection and completion posts.

Ugh, I hate that! I hope it improves Liz!
And thanks Jane and Grace for answering. =)

Review:
I really enjoyed the first book in this series and had been looking forward to reading book 2. However where the first book and me glue to the pages finishing it quickly, this second book, whilst I did still enjoy it, I really had to push through to get through portions of it. The idea itself I really liked and I liked the chemistry between Audrey Rose and Thomas and I must admit the legend of Prince Dracula has always been a fascinating one and I liked what the author did with the legend and the way it played in with the murder mystery. The last part of this book moved very quickly and I liked where this book ended up. By the sounds of things there could be another book coming i this series an I look forward to reading it.

Book: How Beauty Loved the Beast
Page count: 292
How the book qualifies: The heroine has red hair and pale skin (...of her red hair and pale skin against...) - page 44

Tink, you need a quote a sentence from the book that shows this for the book to qualify. You either need to include a link to one of the optional lists or provide a sentence from the book that says one of the MCs has blonde hair or fair skin.

I know that problem and I don't blame you for waiting!

I would think so, but would Jane to give her opinion. I'll ask in the other thread for you, since I haven't found my book it might matter for me too.
Just a thought, is it saying the character is pale from a situation like a scare or in general? That might be the only reason it wouldn't work.

Completion Post

The book is set in Corfu, Greece.
Completed 3.18.18 *4 Stars*
Let me start by saying that Nora Roberts trilogies or family stories just work for me. This was not an exception! I love the characters and the relationships they develop. This book focused on the first couple of the six people, again pretty typical, the others will get their stories in the next two books. Lots of set up, normal in a first of series book - everyone has to meet and we have to learn what they are up against. The hero of this was Bran Killian, a magician and the heroine was Sasha Riggs, an artist and seer. They were a wonderful couple and I had to root for them. There were lots of challenges and together they faced them. Looking forward to the next one and even more challenges!
I listened to the audio with Saskia Maarleveld narrating and enjoyed it.

Selection Post

Chapter 2, page 11: "He hadn't, but damn if she wasn't fine looking, with long wavy blonde hair and amazing blue eyes." (Hero's thoughts while being introduced to heroine.)

Missing selection posts from Caipi, Liz and Grace. No rush, as long as it is before the next call.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Week # 2
Option: 1
Book: How Beauty Loved the Beast
Rating: 3 stars
Date Read: 18th March
Review:
While I did enjoy all three of these books there were quite a few inconsistencies throughout them that ended up niggling me more in this book rather than the others. (view spoiler) There are also a lot of questions unanswered but I'm presuming the author is carrying the storyline on with different main characters next.

Week #2
Books: Racing for the Sun
Rating: 2.5 stars
Review:
I have such mixed feeling about this book. I was sucked into the story from the beginning but I really didn't like either of the MCs, especially Sonny, he creeped me out. He's one of those characters you'd run from if you met him in real life. The story was captivating, the secondary characters were wonderful as usual, but the romance left me cold. The only time I really felt anything for any of the characters was not between the MCs (view spoiler) Not Amy Lane's best IMHO.

Ugh, I hate that! I hope it improves Liz!

Thanks! I managed to tear through my pick this week, even though I didn't like it very much, so I think my slump is behind me. :)

Book: Guardian

Review:
When attorney Alexander Wilson's car makes strange noises he looks for the nearest auto mechanic and finds EDWARDS AUTO. His short encounter with the owner of the shop, Titus Edwards, a tattooed, musclebound mechanic who raises his niece Phoebe, leaves Alex hoping to see the guy soon again. This wish gets fulfilled when Ty (Titus) needs an attorney to protect his niece.
Sadly this book didn't work for me.
GFY is a sweet fantasy I like to read from time to time, but the story really needs to be convincing. There has to be something special, this spark, this all-consuming passion and chemistry, that allows me to believe in it.
Unfortunately I didn't feel anything alike in this story. On the contrary, the romance felt superficial to me.
I also found the second storyline disappointing. The problem with Phoebe's suddenly appearing biological father was resolved far too quickly and easily.
The only plus point was Val, Alex's sweet Corgi.

It's pretty bad when the best thing about a romance is a dog! :-) Looks like neither of us had good picks this week and Tink's wasn't great either. :-/ I hope everyone else has better luck!

I love comfort reads ~ so many books I regularly reread :D

We have all our selection posts for week 2, but still need completions from me, Nikk and Grace. I know weather could be an issue - I think Nikk mentioned it in another challenge. I might finish my book tomorrow, but if not, definitely over the weekend.
Hope you all are doing well!

You are good still! You just can't be more than two books behind. Later in the challenge it matters that everyone keeps up, but now there is no rush. Speed only matters in the last week!
You aren't the only one who hasn't finished either and I haven't gotten to my book at all today - so far at least.
And Happy Birthday to your daughter!

Week 3
Option 1
3. Read a book with a 5 AND 3 in the book publication date and/or the page numbers (any combination) on the GR page for the book you choose. You cannot substitute a month for a number (3 = March; 5 = May).
Please note how this qualifies in your selection post.
Option 2
Key date: 22 September 2017
