I read a book in 2015 about an American science professor who get a letter inviting him to go to England to speak about a paper he wrote on time travel. he and his wife leave that night to go to the airport, along the way a person runs out on the road and they hit him. he is dirty and smelly, his clothes are raggy and he is clutching something to his body. there is no phone coverage to ring an ambulance so they bundle him up in the car. the wife takes the package, it is a book wrapped in an animal stomach, she starts reading it. so the story breaks down into chapters that she is reading. a reporter is sent back in time to interview Nepoleon Bonaparte while he is escaping from the island prison. two archaeologists uncover the remains of a gladiator but then they find a gadget from the twentieth century buried with him. a report interviews Christ. the book is not the Didymus Contingency or the Jesus Project.

I was saving the book for my husband to read because it is really good, but now I cant find it and cant remember what it was called.

It was set in our time. it was soft cover. book size was about 30cm x 15 cm
