I'm not sure what it is about the audiobook, but until now I've had a hard time getting into it. The Stevenson POV just annoys me. Now that things are starting to look related, I hope it will be easier.

43 % - (view spoiler)[ At this point, I don't even care about the Stevenson POV. As much as I liked the actual stories his character wrote back then, and it would be interesting to think about how he came up with them - the execution is just boring.

Considering that there isn't really much going on in the present day POV, and yet I am more interested in what is happening with a couple of coyotes - it's pretty sad. (hide spoiler)]

72% - (view spoiler)[ Ok now I am flip-flopping. The modern day stuff is no longer interesting to me at all. I'm tired of Rafe and Miranda. The damn coyotes are even hiding out, not wanting to see what happens to them.

Now, the Stevenson POV is interesting. The Jack the Ripper stuff is intriguing. It has to be someone he knows, right? (hide spoiler)]

Finished - I get now why you have all said that the end was good, but that it was tough to get there. (view spoiler)[ I'm glad we figure out who Jack the Ripper is, but I must admit that I am confused about the part where Lloyd tells us he has been using Louis's handwriting. Does that mean that the entire journal is a fabrication or just the notes that he admits to writing. I guess it doesn't matter.

Rafe's POV still annoyed me at the end. I think a little prologue with him finding the journal in the trunk would have been sufficient to introduce the Stevenson POV. I just don't think that Rafe's adventures tied into what was happening with Stevenson at all - there was no connection to their situations. It would have been one thing if Rafe was struggling with turning in a family member for a crime, or if he blacked out and strange things were happening in the canyon and he wondered if it was himself doing them. ANY connection would have been nice. We could have erased Rafe's entire POV other than finding the journal and the story would not have suffered much. (hide spoiler)]
