I read this book about 25 years ago. It is about a group of guys that go to deer camp every year together. One of the men is going out and instead of hunting deer he is shooting other hunters. One of the other men in the group discovers the hunter's secret. I have been trying to find the name of this book off and on for several years. Any help would be great.

The Dead of Winter by David Poyer, maybe? I found this description on NoveList Plus: "While hunters stalk the snowy woods for deer, Paul Michelson hunts the nameless men who murdered his son, but a skilled marksman is hot on his trail."

This is not the book I am looking for. It does sound good however. I will be grabbing it from the shelf very soon.

Shoot is not the book either, but it also sounds like something I would like to read. Please don't give up. Even if I don't discover the name of the book I am looking for it looks like I will have plenty of good reads ahead. Goodreads is great.
