Do you think Helmuth's mother will ever stand up for her kids or continue to let Hugo do what he wants?

Why are all the boys/men excited to join Hitler and why do they all praise him? How cant they see what he is doing is awful?


In this book all the boys and men join the military and are mainly excited to join. They also run the house. Like Hugo came into their life and pretty much took over. He tells them all what to do and moved them into a new house. While the women stayed at home and cleaned and took care of the house/kids.
