"I've overheard bits of conversation about it but I don't know exactly what's going on. Just that it's really bad. Most of the best we pay attention to at the Tower is about Jump City." Star answered honestly and shrugged.
Nixon sighed in dismay. "It's awful there. There's been a civil war raging on for nearly a whole decade. I feel so helpless because I can't do anything." He admitted, pressing his hands to his head.

Starfire placed a hand on his back. "We'll start small but eventually your team will be able to fix big things like that."
Nixon nodded, acknowleding the alien's words. She was a good support system, which was one of the ideal traits in his future team mates.

Star smiled slightly. She was already thinking of ways to help Nixon with everything. Somehow they needed to get the word out to the heroes that he wished to recruit. "How are we going to contact the possible recruits?"

Suddenly a buzzing sound makes him open his eyes. "I know, I know, I'm late...".
He ignores the sound for a while but in the end, he stands up and takes the buzzing phone from a nearby table.
"Yes, I know I'm late, no, I will be careful, yes, no unnecessary fights with the police or any costumed idiot..., may I ask... what counts as -unnecessary-?, relax, relax... I'm just kidding... I'm gonna start the operation, yes, I assure you, we will need him, and if he refuses my... sorry, your generous offer, then I just will have to look for a new apprentice".
As the call ends he put the phone back on the table and walks to the living room, there what looks like a family, a man, a woman and two teenagers, a boy and a girl, sits together in an ample leather couch, his faces hidden by the darkness.
"Seems like our time together has come to an end, my friends, I'm very grateful for your kind hospitality, taking a stranger like me into your house... I'm very grateful, you have restored my faith in humankind, I wish I could repay your generosity but I guess that freeing you from this dull, pathetic existence is enough, don't you think? Well, I'm just gonna take a shower, get dressed and maybe take a few sandwiches for the road and will leave you and your beautiful house".
As the man leaves pools of something dark drip and grow at the feet of the family sitting on the couch.
