I gave it four stars. I'm a sucker for a book that takes me to a time and place I knew nothing about. Reading about their daily lifestyle, farming in the US not that long ago, was very interesting to me. And the book really did make me laugh.

Thanks for your comments, everyone! This wasn't a great success for most of you, but that's how book club goes, I guess. :) A favorite for someone won't be for everyone.
I've enjoyed most of our books, but the 2 or 3 I didn't like I was still glad I had read. It's good for me to get out of my usual ruts and try new things. So - thanks to you all! Looking forward to the next books.

Totally agree Cindy! You all have broadened my horizons immensely. It’s good to step outside our usual genres and see what others enjoy. Looking forward to 2018!

I think the main reason I like Book Clubs is because I read books that I ordinarily wouldn't choose. Some I love, some are okay, and some I really don't care for. But I'm almost always glad I read them.
