Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments I've been struggling with figuring out what I want to read for this challenge. I have a couple of ideas, but I'm a weird reading mood lately in the sense that as soon as I voice what I want to read, something in me just be like "nope!". :D
So instead of doing that, I'm signing up for one book this month and I guess we'll see what happens :)

Thanks for the recommendation Kristin. It's actually one of the contenders I was considering, however, I'm so sick of books in multiple installments. Plus, It was one of the options I think I'll enjoy way more as a movie than as a book.

I definitely appreciate the comment :) I'll have to think about it for a few more days while I finish the one I'm currently reading :)

Congratulation Rachael! Out of curiosity, did you read an abridged version? aprox. 800 pages seems really short in comparison. But maybe it's just me, since I've only ever read the french :D
The TV-show is definitely on my radar to watch. If nothing else, simply because David Oyelowo is in it :)

Best of luck with your next pick! Have you decided which one it would be out of the possibilities you had?

Katherine, I'm a little confused about your post. Are you planning on reading 7 books or 10 books. Or have you read 7 out of 10 books? Or have you not read any yet, but are planning to read those you listed?

If you would please clarify, I'd appreciate it greatly so I can accurately add you to the list of participants :)

As far as I know (from my inside person in the movie industry) it's still in development, so there haven't' been any updates regarding an actual release date. Wouldn't be the first time a Dan Brown novel didn't make its way to the big screen.

Did you enjoy Ready Player One as a re-read? :)

It's in Pre-production so it'll likely be 2020 that it will be released.

Hi Lisa! They were both really fast reads. I liked Guernsey Literary... a lot... not so much Bird Box. That one wasn't to my taste.

message 79: by Janine (new)

Janine | 1551 comments Lisa wrote: "Did you enjoy Ready Player One as a re-read? :)"

I did, thanks Lisa. It's been over four years since I first read it so lots of it was exciting and surprising as I'd forgotten many of the little details. The 80s isn't my era so the cultural references it relies on that seem to make a lot of people either love or hate this book don't impact me too much, but I yet again found it an entertaining read.

message 80: by Megan (new)

Megan (lahairoi) | 7470 comments Just completed my first selection - A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle. Read this for the umpteenth time, but the first time as an adult. I remember the book being longer. Maybe there were just some big concepts in the book for me when I was a kid. I forgot how spiritual the book was - not religious but definitely spiritual. But the lovely writing was the same, as were the really smart characters. Definitely worth reading and can't wait to see the movie! 5 stars

That's great Janine! I can imagine after four years it must be like almost reading it anew :) And good to hear the references lost on you didn't prevent your enjoyment of it once again :)
Do you plan on watching the movie once it releases at the end of the month?
