Lyn Elliott | 30 comments Thank you, Kris, it's great to have this now.
I'm just re-reading the Intro etc to the Fagles translation, so this will be a nice run in.
I've printed out the schedule and stuck it on the wall in my office to keep me on track. Lyn

Judy (wisdomkeeper) | 24 comments I got my copy a couple weeks ago. I'm in! Time for me to start reading! Thanks to Lyn for the idea to print out the schedule.

Rebecca Budd (clanmother) | 4 comments I’ve started to read, too! This is the first time I’ve ever participated in a virtual “bookclub” discussion. Thank you Kris for the invite. I look forward to the adventure ahead.

Thanks so much for joining us, Rebecca! This should be fun -- so many wonderful friends participating.

Emma (keeperofthearchives) For those that want some interesting notes on the poem they can read according to this schedule, take a look at this produced by Royal Holloway- it's got some great points that could really help to focus the discussions.

Richard Derus (expendablemudge) | 9 comments I am in waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy over my head...I read the Fitzgerald and the Lombardo translations, ran out of bookdarts, bought more, and read the Wilson translation...ran out of bookdarts...am now attempting the most harrowingly difficult writing task of my entire almost-60 years on this planet, ie a review/essay on all three...am renewedly pleased with my decision not to pursue an academic career...am awed afresh by Fearless Leader's doctorate...help....

You can do it, Richard! You're my hero for reading so many translations in such a short period of time. And I love Tamara's advice to you.

Kathleen | 44 comments I love the creativity and generousness of this group!

I'm getting closer to the top of my library's hold list, and should hopefully have a copy by the end of the month. I'm gonna need that scarf to pull me through, but I look forward to catching up with you all!

Yeah, that's the spirit all right! The wit level in here is higher than average.

I read them all because I can, having no other obligations to be elsewhere or interact with more fools than is the legal minimum. Retirement, albein involuntary, rawks.

You can definitely catch up, Kathleen -- the reading schedule has an extremely leisurely pace.

Kathleen | 44 comments Thank you, Kris, for the schedule and all the other considerate things you do!

I just have to share--it's coming!! My copy is en route and I should be able to start in the next week. SO excited.
