Books recommandations written by Val McDermid

Hello everyone :)

I have heard lots of good feedbacks about the author Val McDermid and I want to discover her books, but I don't really know which one to start with.

What are your favourites books from her? Which ones are you recommanding me?

My favorite is and always will be A Place of Execution

I read the Singing Mermaid and enjoyed it emmencely

A Place of Execution is my favorite. But you can't go wrong with any of her books.
The Mermaids Singing is the first in Tony Hill/Carol Jordan series
The Distant Echo is the first in the Karen Pirie series
Both of those she's still writing. You really can't go wrong

If you are reading the Hill/Carol Jordan start with the beginning i.e. The Mermaids Singing. Like that you get the best out of this series. I personally thought the last one wasn't very good as by then the story line of Hill/Jordan wasn't very believable anymore, but others probably will disagree.
