Nikki ~ The Nocturnal Bookworm (nyxreadsstuff) Discussion thread for Six of Crows, one of our books of the month for March. Remember to use spoiler tags as needed. Happy reading!

To promote discussion here are a few general questions. Feel free to answer them or not answer them :)

Who were your favorite and least favorite characters?

Six of Crows is set in the same world as the Grisha Trilogy. If you've read any of the books in that trilogy, how does this one compare? If you haven't, was it hard to find your footing at first?

Remember to use spoiler tags for this one! Were there any plot twists you did not see coming? On the other side of the coin did you feel like there was anything you could see coming a mile away?

Diane (dijeye) Finished reading this one a couple weeks ago and so happy to have the opportunity to discuss with everyone. :) I might just have to re-read it!

tiffany I've read this book multiple times. So good!

Yissel (thedesignergeek) | 1 comments This book is a fantastic choice! I'm excited for everyone jumping into this for the first time!

Ainhoareadsbooks | 7 comments I just finished this book! would love to discuss it

Diane (dijeye) How did we end up on discussing details of the book before the end of the month when everyone who is participating should have finished? Don't want to post spoilers if that's not permitted. :)

I haven’t seen anyone post specific details or spoilers? If I ever miss some though let me know! The questions above are just a few to answer at any point either now or at the end of the month. I wanted to try posting general questions for each book in the first post in case anyone wanted a jumping off point for discussion. Any spoilers at any point should be hidden under spoiler tags (view spoiler) :)

Diane (dijeye) I've been thinking about who my favorite main characters are and honestly, I liked them all for various reasons. When looking at "the six" I think I connected personally most with Jesper and Kaz, but from a purely entertainment perspective, I'd have to go with Nina. Perhaps from a philosophical standpoint, it would be Inej. I like Wylan and Matthias also, don't get me wrong, but they didn't resonate as strongly with me.

this is really nicely stated/written! i personally love Nina best but yup, Jesper's flirtatious humor & Kaz's cold, dry humor are a nice mix and they make conversation really lively!

Nikki ~ The Nocturnal Bookworm (nyxreadsstuff) Looks like so far everyone has thought pretty highly of this one :)

Valeria (valea22) | 64 comments I read six of crows last year along with the Grisha trilogy.
The Grisha trilogy it’s more centered in the Ravkan country and the different groups of Grisha, as it’s the most complicated society in this “universe” it was easier to understand six of crows even though it’s happening somewhere else. I would have been a bit lost without it because six of crows does not immediate explains this.
Apart from that there’s vague references in the first book of the Duology to the first and second army and what’s happening with the Grisha society which it’s of course really clear if you read the trilogy.
Now, the second book relates more to it as characters which were introduced there actually show up

That been said my favorite character of Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom (I won’t spoil the second book for you) was Matthias Helvar. He was the most developed character in the series and the more level headed
