This is the thread for our March 2018 Group Read with Guest Author, Jason Parent. Jason was a fan favorite here on HA's Group Read section, so it was a no-brainer to have him back for his latest release, What Hides Within, Please help me welcome back to HA, Jason Parent!

Hi Red. I'm doing well. Just returned from a convention in North Carolina and am getting ready for StokerCon in Rhode Island. Also, thank you for the review and all your book reviews - I enjoy reading them on Twitter!

There will be a sequel, which will be somewhat different, for reasons likely obvious to you. I will be happy to discuss that... a little later in the month, lol. Thank you for reading and reviewing! I follow your reviews as well on here!

Always a pleasure to talk books with readers, whether mine or not. And for those who don't know me (and maybe I shouldn't volunteer this), but I will answer any question asked. Nothing is out of bounds (though I'm sure Goodreads might have some boundaries). So far the worst that has come out of the policy is an allegation of sexual activity with a panda bear, but I blame that on a language barrier.

The cover is a little intense. Glad you liked Seeing Evil, because What Hides Within won't be the only book with a sequel this year...

message 25: by Jason (new)

Jason Parent | 741 comments So... now that I've gotten back to everyone, I promise to be more responsive here on out, lol. I will be posting this book for sale at 99 cents in a couple of days as a thank you to Horror Aficionados and all of you showing support.

In the meantime, what's everyone reading? I'm tackling The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly. Keeping my interest so far.

The Book of Lost Things

Currently finishing Blister Had to put it down for a while because I wasn't sure where it was going, but I'm back to it and will hopefully finish today.

I'm working as a contributing editor for Corpus Press' upcoming Halloween collection, so I will definitely be producing more Halloween horror this year

Some intriguing choices. I have not read either, though both fall within my reading tastes.

Jeff Strand is one of my favorite authors, though I wouldn't rank Blister at the top of his work. Enjoyable, but no Dweller.

You know I wouldn't stop you. ;) But I don't know... does Goodreads jail people like Facebook, lol

Thanks, Katy, and welcome. I have just met some dwarves in The Book of Lost Things - so far, I' enjoying it quite a bit. What Hides Within is, well, not the same kind of book.

Except maybe for that sordid retelling of Red Riding Hood... or, maybe not.

StokerCon will be at the Biltmore in Providence, March 1-4. I will be splitting time volunteering as a HWA member, spending time at the NEHW (New England Horror Writers) booth, going to panels, and moderating my own panel (Saturday at 11am). If you decide to stop in, do please come by and say hi!

Yeah, I almost went two years ago when it was in Las Vegas because, well, Las Vegas. Last year was CA, and I missed that, too. I figured I'd have no excuse to miss it this year since it's 8 minutes from where I live.
