I’m reading bitter greens - someone else has reserved it and I don’t like making people wait too long - but first I’m going to turn all the calendars over 😄

This looks like a good read Brenda ... I like a book with a 'sleuth'. Though I don't think I've ever read one with an 'Intermillennial Sleuth', ... so I have added it to my TBR list :-)

I enjoyed her first two (she's Aussie too Nicole) and am enjoying this one as well, so far!

I had to push through another book I had reserved from the library before starting my first "Easy Challenge". Then there are 2 other monthly reads, crickey as I am a breakfast reader only I will have to get on my skates.

4. Choose a book where at least 50% of the cover is your favourite colour (blue): The Snow Child read 17/3/18
5. Choose a book from your favourite genre (fantasy): Eona: The Last Dragoneye by Alison Goodman (AA) read 6/3/18
2. Choose a book set in the country you live in: Looking for Alibrandi by Melina Marchetta (AA) 24/3/18

Brooklyn by Colm Tóibín

I gave this a 5 star rating because I found it to be highly enjoyable. It is the basis for one of my favourite movies, so I'm not surprised that I liked the story, but books and movies sometimes tend to be polar opposites of one another somehow. This however, was a very pleasant read that I found difficult to put down.

I live in Australia and Liane Moriarty is my Australian author for the EASY challenge, What Alice Forgot

5. Choose a book from your favourite genre.
My favourite genre is fantasy fiction, The Keeper by David Baldacci

7. If you could time travel would you go forwards or back? Choose either a futuristic book or an historical one.
I would go backwards in time and love my historical fiction, Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco

Welcome to the challenge Ardentreeda:) I have linked your name in message 2 so you can find your post again easily.

Finished my first of the challenge:
2. Choose a book set in the country you live in.
Australia
Barbed Wire and Cherry Blossoms by Anita Heiss AA 3★
This was an interesting story about a love affair between a Japanese POW, escaped from the internment camp at Cowra, NSW, and an Aboriginal woman, whose family hid him in a bunker. At times I felt the tone was a bit patronising, it was clear that the author wanted to educate the reader, and I would have enjoyed a more subtle approach, with stronger emphasis on the story. Having said that, I do come away from the novel with a greater appreciation of the appalling treatment of our indigenous population; the POWs lived in better conditions.

#7 Choose Futuristic or Historical (Historical)

Book set in your own country: As I hail from South Africa I chose a book set there (and a favourite author)
Red Earth

Non stop action...4 stars
I now realise that the dyslexia kicked in and it should be a " a country you live in" not "come from" Did I fail the challenge?.... I'm tough, I can take it
Book published in the month of my birth: I am an October baby so this was published October 2017.
In the Midst of Winter

Disappointing....... 2 stars
Book set in country you would like to visit: Russia
A Gentleman in Moscow

superb 5 stars
Cheers
trish

7. If you could time travel would you go forwards or back? Choose either a futuristic book or an historical one
You Bring the Distant Near by Mitali Perkins Historical
A sweeping family saga across forty years and three generations of a Bengali family in the US and India. Recommended to all
