He smiled a bit at him. "We'll figure it out Luna.." He mumbled softly. Nyx shifted and smiled softly when Kai's lips brushed against his. He leaned closer, kissing him gently for a moment. He kissed him a bit more insistently, moving closer. Just that little bit of contact was making the scent and everything almost unbearably strong and more powerful. "You can always stop me Luna.." he mumbled against him, not wanting to force him into anything. Nyx didn't like calling him Omega, feeling like that was a jab to Kai so instead, he opted to call him Luna since it felt better.

Kai melted into the Alpha's kiss. He had been wanting this so bad and now that he was actually getting it, he wanted more than before. "Now why would I do that?" he queried quietly. Not wanting to talk anymore, he kissed him again and leaned farther into him. He placed his hands on the Alpha's hip. Kai had noticed the very quick change in how Nyx addressed him but he didn't mind it. In fact, he liked the change. Nyx calling him Luna made him feel even better about the whole thing. He deepened the kiss and tilted his head to the side. The more they kissed, the more intoxicated on his scent he got.

"Dunno.. just an option.." Nyx mumbled gently against his lips. He shifted and pulled Kai close, wrapping an arm around him and holding him close as they kept kissing. He kissed him deeply and slowly a bit more passionately, craving him more and more. "My Luna.." He mumbled against his lips before biting his bottom lip gently, teasing him slightly.(Skip please? I don't like writing out full sexual scenes so we can keep going a bit then fade to black if that works?)
((Alright then.))Kai loved hearing those two words come out of his mouth. He took his mouth from Nyx's and started to kiss his jawline. After a moment, Kai pulled away and stood up. "Come with me, Alpha," he beckoned, grabbing his hand. He might as well get them to where they needed to be. Kai led Nyx to his bedroom and wrapped his arms around him, kissing him deeply. He was ready for this despite the fact he had met his mate only a couple hours.
Nyx tilted his head slightly, letting Kai kiss along his jaw. He pouted slightly when he pulled away but stood to follow him. He squeezed his hand and followed him back to the bedroom, nudging the door shut behind him. Nyx wrapped his arms around Kai, tilting his head down to him and kissing him deeply. He slid his hands under Kai's shirt and nudged it up, trying to be slow and not force him into anything despite how much he wanted this.
Kai eagerly received the kiss and pressed close to him. He couldn't help the moan that escaped his mouth as they kissed him. "Alpha," he groaned as he pushed at his shirt. Kai pulled away for only a moment to pull off the shirt he'd put on not too long ago. He put his arms back around his neck and tugged him along to his bed, falling back so that Nyx was above him. "Don't hold back, Alpha," Kai murmured against his mouth as he looked up at him.

Nyx moved back just enough to let him get his shirt off before pressing himself back close against Kai, kicking off his shoes as he followed him to bed. He moved and straddled Kai, tugging off his own shirt before leaning down to kiss him again. "Same to you, Luna.." He whispered against his lips as he held him. (Yeah, can you start?)
Kai laid on his side in his bed. Whatever had happened had finished hours ago but he hadn't been able to sleep. He closed his eyes for the dozenth time but he wasn't trying to sleep. Kai was listening to Nyx breath because he couldn't bring himself to look at him. How was Nyx going to feel about having an Omega as a partner and the fact they had sex while drunk? The whole thing was honestly ridiculous but completely true. there was no denying what he had felt towards him last night, there just wasn't. But he was afraid of what Nyx might do, how he might act towards him because of it. It was all those racing thoughts that kept him awake. Kai finally couldn't stand staying in bed and carefully sat up, trying not to wake him.
Nyx stayed near him after he'd fallen asleep, gently having one hand on Kai's side so he knew where he was and if he got up. He slept peacefully, his breathing slow and steady but he stirred slightly when he felt Kai move. "Luna..." he mumbled sleepily, not waking up enough to open his eyes or look at him or anything. Plus, he was starting to feel the effects of a hangover so he'd rather sleep and avoid that for as long as possible.
Kai looked back as Nyx mumbled and he turned, partially leaning on his leg. ”Go back to sleep, Alpha,” he murmured, bending over to brush a kiss on his cheek. Kai made sure he wasn’t gonna suddenly wake up before he stood from the bed, pulling on the clothes he had shed last night. He padded from the room and let the door click quietly behind him. ”What am I gonna do?” he mumbled to himself as he walked into the kitchen. If the Alpha was going to wake up at his house, he might as well try and appease him with breakfast and some painkillers.
Nyx tried to mumble a reply but sleep pulled him back under first and he was out again for a few more minutes. He woke up after Kai had left the room and tiredly rubbed his face, looking around and slowly remembering where he was. Nyx sighed and got up, finding his clothes and getting dressed quietly. "I've gotta go figure this out.." He mumbled, remembering he'd slept with his Luna, who was an Omega. That wasn't supposed to happen so he was gonna go try and figure out why that had happened and what he could do about it. He sat on the edge of the bed, pulling his shoes back on and tying the laces.
Kai started making what he usually did but with a bit more food in case the Alpha wanted some. He heard the door to the bedroom open but he didn’t move because, in that moment, the scene felt too domestic for his liking. It felt like what he wanted in life, what he had dreamed about after being paired with his mate. Although, he knew now that it was unattainable. There was no way it could happen. ”I have food and painkillers if you would like some, Alpha,” Kai stated, raising his voice so he could be heard. He didn’t want to talk to him but he knew they were going to regardless.
Nyx ran his hands through his hair to tame it down some before getting up and quietly coming out of the bedroom and shutting the door behind him. He went to the kitchen, still overly drawn to being near Kai. "Thanks Luna but I've got to get some stuff done and figured out this morning..." He said quietly, not wanting to leave Kai but he couldn't just stay in his presence until he figured out why Kai was his Luna and how he was supposed to proceed with this. Nyx was clearly sobering up, his eyes more focused and he was more closed off and less friendly.
Kai found himself just a tad disappointed that Nyx was more or less blowing him off but it was to be expected. He bit his lip and poured the scrambled eggs onto the plate he had nearby. Okay, so maybe this wasn’t what we wanted. What Kai wanted was a mate that loved him and made him a suitable carrier. Another reason why their pairing was confusing. He probably wouldn’t be able to give Nyx strong offspring. ”Is there anything I can do for you before you leave, Alpha?” he asked, finally turning and looking at the Alpha. He looked good and he’d be lying if he said he wanted him to leave. One night spent together and he was attached.
Nyx came over to him, gently putting his arms around him for a moment. "It's not like I'm leaving for good.. I've just got some stuff to do.." He mumbled softly, resting his head on his shoulder. "You can call me Luna too, it's better than Alpha.... Or you know, I could actually tell you my name..." He mumbled softly, holding him for a second longer before letting go. The longer Nyx stayed close to him, the harder it was to leave and walk away from him. He took a step back and got out of his way, biting his bottom lip lightly.
Kai turned his head away when Nyx put his arms around him but he looked back up as he spoke. ”I already know your name, Alpha. It’s impossible to not,” he commented, giving Nyx a lopsided smile. Kai stepped away from the Alpha and grabbed a fork from the nearby drawer, almost slamming it. ”Don’t let me keep you, Alpha. I don’t want to stop you from what you need to do,” Kai said, grabbing the plate and taking it to his table. He turned around to face the Alpha again, waiting until he left. Because he had no idea what he was like sober, he wasn’t about to offend an Alpha.
“Then why not call me that, Luna, and we can both call each other by our regular names rather than Alpha or whatever. But whatever.” He sighed and backed off, not gonna get into a fight with him, it wasn’t worth it. He went to the door and left the apartment, letting the door shut quietly behind him. He left the building and quickly went home to change and shower, smelling like beer and s bit like Kai. Nyx rubbed his face, talking to himself.
Kai sighed heavily after Nyx left. So, apparently, he was not all sweet and gentle when sober. He sat down at his small dining room table and placed his head in his hands. Kai didn’t want to know what decisions he had to go make, although he could probably guess. ”Oh God,” he groaned to his now empty apartment. This was too much to think about and now he had an added worry: pups. They had had sex last night. And, not just because he did it with his Mate, but because he was a carrier. Werewolf pregnancies were not the same as human pregnancies. He would know within 2-3 weeks. It would be the longest couple weeks of his life.
Nyx went back home and showered and got dressed, glancing at himself in the mirror. "That was probably one of the stupidest things you've done Nyx. Good job." He mumbled to himself. He went back to the living room, getting out the books of records that had been kept back through near the start of the pack and it was now his job to add to it. He started at the most recent and began flipping back through it, trying to find any record of an Alpha and an Omega being paired together or an Alpha paired with another male. He didn't know what to do or how to go about this. He couldn't help being drawn to Kai but also knew, a lot of the pack would flip out at him being with a male Omega that was so far below them in their large pack.
Kai shook his head, raising his eyes to look at the ceiling. He looked back down and pushed away his food. He wasn't all that hungry anymore. Kai stood and strode to his room and the connected bathroom. He needed to shower and wash away the event of the previous evening. It didn't take him long before he was out, packed a bag, and grabbed his keys. He would go to his parents and talk to them about this, see what they thought about it all. Kai left, leaving all that behind, and got in his car. Kai got in and sighed, calling his mother. "Hey, Mom? Can I stay a few days?" he started, resting his forehead on the steering wheel.
Nyx kept doing research for a while, not finding any cases of an Alpha and Omega being paired and only one case of an Alpha being paired with a guy and that ended badly for the guy. He sighed softly and grabbed his phone, texting the Alpha from another pack that the Lilith pack was allied with. 'Hey. When you get a chance, we need to talk... I found my Luna, there's some issues though and I have no clue what to do.." He sent to them. Maybe it was just uncommon in his pack for some reason and he could just go about it as if Kai was equal to him.
((Um so, I'm kinda out of things to do... Do you want to move to something else or keep going from here?))
(Same here. Maybe move on to when Nyx rejects him in front of a bunch of their pack and then we can figure out where to go from there?)
Kai was actually terrified. It had been 5 days since he had last spoken to Nyx. After Nyx had left his apartment, he didn't see him again and was too worried to reach out to him. But now he was standing in the middle of what seemed to be a majority of the pack. A mandatory pack meeting had been called only hours ago and everyone was buzzing, wondering just what it was about. But Kai feared the worst. He would eat his own shoe if it wasn't what he thought it was. Kai stared at the ground, quietly eavesdropping on the conversations of the weres nearby. None of it related to him in any way but that's probably because no one knew that he and Nyx were supposed to be mates. Kai couldn't help his reaction as soon as he smelled it: vanilla and smoke. God, he both hated and loved it. It didn't take long for Kai to spot him, walking up to the little stage they had so that everyone could see Nyx. Kai felt like he was going to be sick. He didn't want to be here. Someone could tell him second hand. He didn't need to be here. Kai turned as if to leave but then Nyx started speaking and he stopped, returning to his previous spot. I will forever hate myself for this.
Nyx hadn't meant to completely disappear from Kai but he didn't know what to do about Kai and how to tell him what he chose to do or anything. So instead, he kept his distance, trying to focus on absolutely anything else but he couldn't help the dull ache he seemed to feel now that he was away from Kai. He craved his presence. He talked with the leader of another pack and they hadn't heard of anything similar to the situation of Kai and Nyx so they didn't offer much help. Other than to deny Kai and possibly keep seeing him away from the pack but choose someone else to be his mate instead so as to give off better offspring. Nyx took a breath as he walked up onto the stage, still not entirely sure what he was going to say but he just had to get it out and then he could run off for a while and find some way to make this work. He glanced around and his eyes were immediately drawn to Kai, smelling him and wanting to change his mind but he couldn't. It would cause too many problems. Nyx bit his lip and quickly looked down and away from Kai. He took a breath before looking around at everyone else. "Alright! Let's quiet down so I can get what I have to say over with and don't have to keep you here unnecessarily. I'm gonna try and make this short and so please, just don't question it right now and someday down the line I'll explain." Nyx said loudly to get everyone's attention. Once they quieted, he spoke again. "So I did end up finding my Luna not long ago. Which typically would mean a celebration for us and whatever. Not this time. My Luna is not a suitable mate or match for me physically or hierarchically to help our pack along in the future. So as to cause less problems and not have some sort of fighting for the next Alpha to happen after I'm gone, I'm choosing to deny my Luna and instead will find someone more suitable for the future of our pack." He said, avoiding looking at Kai because he couldn't bear it, it would make him feel too guilty.
Kai froze as Nyx started his speech. He really was doing it. He was actually denying him. Every rational part of him knew that this was going to happen. Kai knew that there was no possible way that Nyx would keep him around. He may have been a carrier, yes, but him being an Omega was more or less the biggest problem. Kai could not give him the offspring that would be needed to become the next Alpha. But he would be damned and heartless if it didn't hurt. Kai had wanted it to work. Hell, he had been imagining it since he had found out that he was a carrier. He didn't know his mate would be an Alpha but he had dreamed of finding his mate and settling down and having pups and just living out his life. That would not become reality. Tears pricked at his eyes and he wrapped his arms around his waist, almost protectively. The bastard won't even look at me, he thought in anger and pain. Would it have hurt him to warn me about his decision? Do it privately first and then publically? Now I'm standing here, 10 seconds away from losing it in the middle of the pack. Kai couldn't take it anymore and started to slowly elbow and slide his way out of the hoard of weres. He felt a few tears slip down his cheeks as he finally escaped the crowd and, to keep up face, calmly made his way back to his car on the other side of the meeting place.
Nyx shrugged. "So yeah. That's all I have to say. My beta has some other stuff they wanted to talk about so I'm gonna leave them to it." He said, biting his lip and heading off stage. He let his friend come up and start talking to them before he quickly and quietly left the meeting place, heading outside. He took a shaky breath, cursing loudly at the sky and anything to just try and calm down. Nobody would hear him out there anyways. Nyx hated having to do that and seeing Kai just made it worse. He looked around, half hoping to see him and apologize but half just wanting to run and get as far away as possible for a bit until he felt better.
As soon as Kai had closed the car door, the tears poured down his cheeks. He let out a sob and hiccuped, his body hunched over as he cried. Kai cried from the pain and from the anger of it all. He didn't ask for this. He didn't ask to be Nyx's mate. He probably, all things considered, would have been happier if his mate had been an Omega or Beta. Kai reached up and wiped away the tears but they were completely replaced with more. "Goddammit, Nyx!" he screamed to his steering wheel and put his hands over his eyes as his body shook. God, if he had known it would hurt this bad, he never would have even let Nyx approach him. Fuck what society demanded he does around Nyx. Kai never would have gotten involved with him. He thought he was going to be able to handle the pain. He was wrong. Hell, the whole ordeal had just ruined his life. As soon as people found out he was the rejected Luna to Nyx, he would never be able to find another mate. No one was going to want someone that had already been rejected by their Alpha.
Nyx caught the scent of Kai again and couldn't help but follow it, upset at himself since he'd known he'd hurt Kai and wanting to give him an explanation. He followed it over to the car and bit his lip when he heard Kai scream. He shook his head slightly at himself. "You at least owe him an explanation." He mumbled to himself and knocked lightly against the driver's side window to get Kai's attention. He moved back enough that Kai could open the door if he wanted before bowing his head and lowering his eyes, a sign of submission and respect to Kai. Typically an Alpha would never bow to anyone but it felt right to do so, to put himself below Kai since he had hurt him.
Kai startled, raising his tear-stained face with a jolt when Nyx knocked on his window. What was he doing here? What in the hell did he think he was doing, coming after him after what he had just done? Kai was decided, he wouldn't open the door but he watched as Nyx bowed his head and lowered his eyes from him. No one had done that before, mostly because he was not one that needed to be bowed to but God, this made his heart hurt more. Certainly, he wouldn't come over to him and show him respect just to shove it all in his face or gloat. Kai bit his lip to keep it from trembling and took a moment to wipe his cheeks, taking deep breaths before pulling himself out of his car. He closed the door quietly and leaned back against it, his hands folded behind him. "You don't have to do that, Alpha," he whispered as he looked at him, his head bowed.
Nyx stood still, taking a breath and just staying there for a moment. If Kai didn't move or acknowledge him, he would've left, but Kai did look at him and then get out to speak to him. "Yes I do.." He mumbled, finally looking at him after a moment. "I owe you an apology. I should've come and spoken to you first. Not catch you off guard like I just did. And I'm still not sure I should've done what I just did. So I'm sorry." He said quietly, biting his lip and watching him. His hands shook slightly so he stuffed them in his pockets. "I didn't know what to do. Our pack would flip out at us being together and I didn't want to lose my place or have them come after you to get rid of you or something.." He said softly, rambling a bit.
Kai listened quietly as he contemplated what he should even do from here. What good was this going to do him? Kai took a deep breath after Nyx had finished speaking. "Thank you, Alpha," he said softly. There was no incentive to call him Luna anymore. "You won't have to worry about me anymore, however. So please, forget me and find a Luna more suitable for your position and rank." It hurt to say that and keep the tears at bay at the same time. He bit his lip hard as he waited for a calm moment to speak again. Kai looked away as the tears pricked at his eyes again. "You don't need to talk to me again, Alpha," Kai choked out, tugging at his lip and wincing as he broke the skin. For a second, the scent of blood from his lip overwhelmed the scent of Nyx himself. Just because he had denied him didn't mean that the attraction was gone. They would still be mates and ultimately want to be together until Nyx mated with someone else. But until then, Kai knew that the scent of vanilla and smoke would haunt him.
“I’m sorry. I just. I wanted to protect you Luna.” He Mumbled, calling him that without even thinking about it, it was the name that fit him. Nyx watched him and took a breath. “I’m not just gonna forget you. You’re supposed to be my Luna and I’m supposed to be yours. If you thought our pack would be fine with that, I’ll go back on that stage and take back everything I just said. I don’t think they’d accept us though...” he said quietly, clearly struggling with the decision. Nyx bowed his head. “If you don’t want me speaking to you or anything again, say so and I’ll respect that. Or I’ll find a way for us. Whatever you want. I don’t know what I’m doing right now. I’m trying. I don’t know..” he rambled out quietly, shifting on his feet. Nyx wasn’t trying to sound so wishy washy about it but he couldn’t help it. Everything in him was stuck between two sides. Being with him or not. The scent of Kai, vanilla and just a little bit of smoke was pulling Nyx more to the side of finding some way to be with him but he had no clue how to make it work or anything. He just couldn’t help wanting him and had no clue how he’d find someone else when he was yearning for Kai more than anyone else.
Kai decided this was the part that hurt the most. He was making it so hard for Kai to say what he needed to say. They both knew that the two of them becoming mates was a dream. The clan would never accept a male mate for an Alpha, much less one that was an Omega. Nothing about it would work. Kai didn't try to hide the tears in his voice as he spoke next but he refused to look at him. "Just forget me, Alpha. There isn't a need to find me anymore so please-" he stopped, unable to keep going. "Please don't find me anymore," Kai finished. Kai couldn't bring himself to look at Nyx. If he did, he would cave and that wouldn't be good for anyone. He knew he was just mad at him about it but he would not be able to make any kind of good decision if he did.
Nyx bit his lip as he heard how upset Kai was and saw it on his face. He took a shaky breath and nodded. “Alright Luna.” He said weakly. “I won’t try and find you anymore. I’m so sorry Luna..” he said softly, shifting and bowing his head to him. The least he could do is show Kai some respect before leaving. He moved back from his car even though he didn’t want to, not wanting to leave Kai’s presence again but he had no choice. Nyx quietly walked away from the car, keeping his head bowed.
Kai watched him leave before he slid down the side of his car, sitting on the gravel beneath him. The pain didn’t bother him. He reached up, sliding his hands into his hair and gripping it. Was a happy ending too much to ask for? Was it too much if he asked for a good mate and that he and his mate had pups of their own, watching them run around and play? Was it too damn much? Kai let the tears fall, forcing himself to stand up and get back into his car. He tried to dry his tears but to no avail. Kai drove anyways, backing out of the lot and pulling on the street. He couldn't stay there any longer. He just couldn’t. Kai finally made it home and rushed inside. There he let himself go, dropping to his knees on the cold tile floor and sobbing. Damn that man. Damn whoever decided who mated with whom. Maybe that was the point, to not give him the happy ending he wanted.
Nyx didn’t even bother going home. He changed into his wolf form and just ran, not caring where he was going, he just wanted to get into a fight or something, just to give him a reason to be in pain Other than his own emotions. He ran for a while, passing Kai’s apartment multiple times. As a wolf, his sense of smell was that much stronger and he was still drawn to Kai. He kept running, forcing himself to go away from Kai’s apartment and away from the city in general.

A couple weeks had passed and Nyx still was a bit of a mess. He was more together and took care of everything he needed to for the pack but he didn’t try to find another mate or anything. He couldn’t get his mind off of Kai and kept occasionally smelling him around town and it took everything in him to not run to find him.Nyx sighed softly, getting back to his apartment complex late at night after a meeting with some of the betas. He walked to his apartment, rubbing his face tiredly and trying to ignore the migraine forming in the front part of his head, right behind his eyes. “Just go sleep..” he mumbled to himself
Kai was still walking. He wasn’t sure why he was still walking. No, that was a lie. He knew why. Kai had been to the doctor’s earlier in that day and had found out, as he had feared, that he was going to have a pup. Finding out had wrecked him, emotionally, for a variety of reasons. The main one being he had no clue what he was going to do with Nyx. Kai had initially gone back to his apartment after the appointment but he couldn’t stand being there alone. So he left to walk to help clear his mind. Which brought him to where he was, unconsciously following Nyx’s scent. After a moment of realization, he caught himself in front of what he assumed to be the complex where Nyx lived. I should at least tell him. It’s his pup too. But what will he do? Kai feared he would take the pup away from him when it was born but he had an obligation to tell him. Kai took a deep breath and willing followed the scent to a certain apartment door. He knocked and waited.
Nyx unlocked the door and pushed it open. He went inside and to his room, letting the door swing shut behind him. He kicked off his shoes and was about to lay down when he heard the knock. “Who’s showing up here this late?” He Mumbled to himself, heading back to the door. He bit his lip as he could smell Kai on the other side. Nyx hesitated a moment before pulling the door open. “Hey...” He mumbled softly, looking him over.
