ABANDONED. Children's mystery series where the main character is a girl who solves crimes with her guy friend

When I was in elementary school I read a mystery book series about a young girl with curly red hair that solves crimes in her town with her best friend who's a guy. I remember that the covers are really colorful and I believe that the girl is on all of the covers and the most distinctive thing about her was her red hair. Also if I remember correctly the girl's last name started with an 'H' and I could never figure out how to pronounce it. If anyone could help me out with figuring out what books these are I would appreciate it because its been bugging me for years.
