Sorry I am reading the ebook and I don't have page numbers and this silly book doesn't have chapter numbers. So I am 1/3 through

Juliette: (view spoiler)[Just because you are a surprisingly effective fighter does not mean you have the skills to be a political leader. I always think this reading books about rebellions but this is a great example.

I was so annoyed that J didn't have the sense to take Warner to the meeting with her. And I was further annoyed that she kept insisting that Warner and Kenji spend time together and become friends. Kenji would just annoy the heck out of Warner and they would be worse off. (hide spoiler)]

Kenji: (view spoiler)[ I really like Kenji's snarkiness, but he should not be allowed in a sensitive diplomatic meeting. Kenji cried when he saw Warner eat a candy bar. (hide spoiler)]

Warner: (view spoiler)[ I could shake him, why wouldn't he talk to Juliette? He's never embarrassed so I saw it as cowardice, but I didn't think he was a coward...until now.

I did feel bad that he and Adam were mourning their awful father and no one would really sympathize except each other. And having all of Juliette's friends located in his personal space would be very frustrating for such a private person.

I laughed out loud when Kenji cut Warner's hair. (hide spoiler)]

Castle: (view spoiler)[ I don't trust Castle, but he's got great intel, even if he won't share it. Have Juliette ask Warner and if Warner doesn't enlighten her, then tell her!! She needs to know, but instead she goes into the meeting blind. I respect Castle more after Kenji said that Castle was waiting for a leader before they took out the Supreme Commander. Warner: (view spoiler)[Glad that Warner finally told J about her biological parents and his role in torturing her sister. But he neglected to mention his ex-girlfriend?! Stupid man. Lol, Warner ends up confiding to Kenji?! (hide spoiler)]

Nazeera: (view spoiler)[Strange that she is breaking law by wearing a head scarf. I want to trust her though I hope she's not a plant. She saved J's life during the assassination attempt. (hide spoiler)]

Well, I think the ending was worth reading this so-so book. But the cliffhanger is a doozy.

Warner: (view spoiler)[ I hope this will teach Warner to be more open about his feelings and his life, if and when he ever gets the love of his life back. Amazingly, Warner and Kenji end up starting a friendly encounter. (hide spoiler)]

Kenji: (view spoiler)[ Kenji is covered in blood, but he has to be okay, because he is such a great character in this series. Nazeera has great promise and I could see them together. (hide spoiler)]

Juliette: (view spoiler)[ Poor Juliette, everyone was lying to her for her own good trying to protect her or to use her. Warner not telling her that she was adopted is really not the worse thing. Juliette's reaction to Warner's crazy ex-girlfriend, Tana, was perfect.

Page 145- (view spoiler)[ It still doesn't seem like much is happening...maybe this will just be a slower paced book compared to the others. Warner still won't tell Juliette anything even after the last few chapters have been filled with, "You're supposed to tell me something..." or "Castle says you something to tell me..." It's just dragging on too much. I'm not enjoying Juliette's character again, and I don't like the book dragging along with all these unanswered questions. I understand dropping hints slowly to make the reader feel some anticipation and excitement, but this isn't the case with this book. We still know anything about Warner, the RSPVs, Haider or why it's been said he has a sister about 10 times, or anything about Juliette's parents. It's time to move the plot forward. (hide spoiler)] But it is still a quick and very easy read for me.

Juliette, girrrl, I get you! I'm also pissed for not having a clue to what's going on...so boring! Almost 40 pages further into this book, and still nothing.

Page 315- (view spoiler)[ I’m starting to think this book isn’t for me. The dialogue between characters is so bad, and I HATE the miscommunication trope in books!! And that’s all this is! Secrets and just so much relationship drama. I was really excited at the beginning when I thought this was going to be about politics, but it’s been about Warner keeping secrets, his ex girlfriend, Juliette constantly complaining about not being good enough, jealousy and insecurities, and painful dialogue. I’ve heard amazing things about the ending, so I’m still hopeful, but this is my least favorite book of the series. It just hasn’t done anything for me. (hide spoiler)]
