I was trying to find the Goodreads page for a Young Justice fanfic that I had previously added to my booklists, but no matter what I tried to do I couldn’t find that page any more.

My personal backup of my Goodreads library shows that this book did, indeed, have a page on Goodreads before. But now it seems to not only have been completely purged from the main area of the website, but also from my own Librarian Edits history page, from all the private and public BookLists I was a member of, etc. More than that, I’ve never gotten any sort of a notification \ warning that this book was going to be purged from Goodreads.

There seem to be nothing left about it on this website whatsoever.

How can I find out what happened to this book page? And is this Goodreads’ general policy, to sneakily delete books without even warning people who have those books in their lists that the book is being stopped being listed on the website?

Renske | 12222 comments Generally speaking, the two main reason a fanfic is deleted:
- It is a work in progress, not a complete work
- The author made a request to delete it. (Fanfics are the only kind of books that can be deleted from Goodreads because the author makes that request) This is only done by the staff.

There is no notification system, but if you want to discuss that the feedback group is the right place for that https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/1

"Please note that items that do not meet Goodreads policies for inclusion in the database may be deleted without warning."
