Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1236 comments A warning from A.F. a moderator on another group:

If you see any post by a James, or James Dawson, in this group or another group, labelled: "For Authors Looking for FREE Promotion and REVIEWS" or "Looking For ACTIVE Book Reviewers" or "Looking For PASSIONATE Book Reviewers" please do not join or sign up for anything he offers. At the very least this guy is an aggressive spammer, at worst running a scam.

She has discovered him under other names too.

Free reviews are a dangerous thing right now- it targets you with Zon and they have been taking an ax to both my son's and my reviews cutting down reliable and steady reviewers. I'd be leery of anyone doing that.

Thanks for sharing, Anna.

Angel | 723 comments I've seen those same post around too. I thought it suspicious from the start. So have never joined. I have a naturally suspicious mind. I always listen to my intuition. It never steers me wrong. Thanks for reporting this Anna.

Faith Jones (havingfaith) It sounds unrealistic that there isn't a catch when a book reviewer pleads for books in any genre to review. They'd be inundated, surely? There are half a dozen promotional web services now that send likely reviewers lists of books to download for nothing, so maybe if similar posts appear in future, just reply "sign up to this and take your pick" and add a link.

He has created at least 5 profiles this week alone and now posts late night. I block him and delete thread and topic as soon as they come in. One night it was back and forth. Then he resurfaced at 3:30 am. I barely sleep and took those down too. It’s annoying as shit. Sorry for my language I’m just over his bs

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1236 comments Just had this in my private email given out only to blog interviewers (usually). This means it's someone who has accessed the private messages, so Goodreads, I hope you will make it more secure.

"I found you on Goodreads. I saw that you were asking for reviews there. If you still want reviews for your book, then please contact me for more details (tirekickers and time wasters, please ignore this message). Keith H"

There is absolutely no way I have been asking for reviews - I avoid this like the plague.

So beware! Again...

Peri June (perijune) | 81 comments I've just had an email from Keith H. as well. It seems he's making the rounds this week.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1236 comments Where's he got our email addresses from?

Well, my email is in my bio, so that makes sense. But if your email is not public, then that's a little worrisome.
