During my winter reading i came across this amazing book that was able to challenge my understanding and allow me to expand and go more into depth with my knowledge about topics i thought i had a clear understanding of.This book is about systematic oppression specifically institutionalized oppression and how the system targets specific groups to fall into the cracks such as the prison system and talks about mass incarceration.This book was written by a professor and an active person in her community which is why i enjoyed reading this book because she gave great details about what she was researching about.If you love books that challenges your understanding and talking about bigger issues with injustice i recommend this book
