Cameron didn't wake nor did she stir all throughout the car ride back towards The Lab. Her body was too busy chasing it's wits about, trying to restore it's basic functions as the nanites rebooted themselves. Though it was taking time and all the while she was steadily bleeding from her spleen being lacerated. It was hard for her though since she dreamt while being unconscious. It was all dreams of the past and it wasn't pleasant. Dreams of the accident flooded her mind. However once the car stopped within the safety of the building she did jostle awake however. "I... I feel... Fell cold..." She whispered softly as she looked around inside the vehicle with blurred vision.

Finally he pulled up beside The Lab. It wasn't exactly hidden. The Lab was a large white building that stood next to a nearby beach. The Lab worked in secret. The upper levels were designed to look like a science lab for marine biology, but the lower levels, the levels underground, is where the experiments took place. Opening the car door, he slid out of the front seat. Moving to the back of the car, he opened the back door, gently dragging the younger girl out of the backseat.
Carrying her out, shut both doors and made his way out to the back of The Lab. There was a small door in the back that went straight to the underground levels. Once he got to the small door, he pushed it open with his foot. On the inside, there was a flight of stairs. There was one light bulb at the top of the stairwell, hanging from above. Sighing, he began to descend down the stairs.

Cameron was faintly aware of a car door opening. Then, she felt hands on her body. She moaned in protest, her eyes tightly shut. But this person didn't seem to want to hurt her, he was gentle and he moved her carefully. Though her side still racked with pain from her broken ribs. She gasped and grasped his shoulder as a result. Then she slacked again. But her hand remain softly on his shoulder. And then they were walking. A door being kicked open by the feel and sound of it. And then stairs, a little bit painful as she was jostled but nothing so bad. She managed to open her eyes and saw a faint light. And could feel a descending feeling. They were going downwards. Cameron tensed and swallowed hard before turning her head and looking at her captor. She should hate him but, she couldn't muster up the feeling.
Once they reached the lower levels and passed through the heavily armed security the scientists were practically jumping all over them. One man, the senior associate came to stand before Aaron. He was a man of his late forties. Had short black hair which was greying at the sides. He had a sharp nose, thin lips and icy cold grey eyes. He wore glasses and now he lowered them without even touching them, looking down at Aaron as if he were a boy about to receive a lecture from a principle. He was tapping his foot silently, the other's milling about the three of them now starting to wear scared and anxious faces. With the senior's arms crossed he was looking from Aaron to Cameron and back again. He remained quiet as he gritted his teeth and also huffed slightly. And then the bomb dropped.
He reached out a hand and slapped Aaron as of he were a woman. "You idiot! Who the hell is this girl! Bloody hell! One simple task and you mess it up! Must I do everything in this bloody building myself?!" He roared, clearly outraged. He was also one of the few who didn't fear Aaron's power. He knew Aaron couldn't afford to mess up. All the while Cameron had been watching. When the slap came she gasped. And then she glared at the scientist before turning her head away, looking up at the ceiling, outraged herself since she was feeling sad that her captor had been hurt, a different picture of him now forming inside her mind.

Then the confusion settled in.
"What do you mean 'who the hell is this'?" He asked, trying not to let the anger he was feeling seep into his voice. Wasn't this the girl they asked for? The one called Red? She even said to him that she 'wasn't going back'. This wasn't right. The girl had to be Red, or else nothing that he had done so far made any sense. Obviously, he had done something wrong, though. The way the scientist was glaring at him told him that he had messed up, and badly. What was his name again? Aaron didn't bother to remember.
Looking down at the so called 'Red' he could see that she was still pale. She was covered in bruises and scraps from her previous crash into the tree. He felt bad for her. She needed help, and fast. There wasn't much bleeding on the outside of her body, which confused him even more than he already was. His mind froze for a moment as a thought crossed it. What if she had internal bleeding? If that was the case, then that was going to be a problem.
■||Cameron Ellie Tallison||■
Cameron felt eyes on her. And not just from the large assortment of people circling them. She turned her head and saw the man staring at her. She simply stared back up at him. Her side was numbing. But then again she felt so cold she couldn't feel her fingers of toes. She was losing blood fast and by her unnaturally white face it was clear that she was in trouble. And of course, even Cameron wasn't that pale. Her skin had a milky hue to it with peach accents, now, now her skin was only chalky white greyish. Not pretty. Then she closed her dark brown eyes, fading into the darkness.
The scientist, Ulrich, groaned from frustration. "Are you completely idiotic?! This... This girl is not the girl I asked for! This... This is some street rat! I asked for my lovely experiment back! Not some imposter!" It was clear this guy was going to blow a gasket. Aaron bringing her here had major implications. He could see she was dressed nice despite having been in some sort of accident. And since nice clothes meant money and money meant family, well, family meant someone who cared if she disappeared, someone who would call the police! Now Ulrich wanted to punch Aaron, make him suffer.
But just as he was about to, with Cameron still in his arms another associate came up to him and whispered into his ear. It was a smaller man, younger. With brown hair and piercing emerald eyes. Only those eyes were calculating, so much so that they resembled a predator's eyes. And in fact, this calm, unseeming character was even worse then Urich. After several moments of fierce whispering passed between the two, Ulrich's face, who had gone through several emotions, settled on one specific one. One of resolve. "Your lucky boy." He said, softly and deadly. Then his face twisted into an evil and opportunistic smile. A horrid sight.
"My fellow and I have decided that you won't be punished too severely. Just no food for a week. And now you can go. And bring me back the right girl this time. But... I suppose... A... A thank you is in order." He said it in such a way as to be clear that it was not a pleasure saying it as he looked coldly at Aaron. "After all, you brought me a new toy." He said in such a dark and demented voice it would even send chills down Satan's spine. And then he licked his lips and rubbed his hands together. "Time to get to work. I suppose a good lunchtime dissection never hurt anyone." And then he walked forward and took a now unconscious Cameron from him. And then he started walking away, his fine, thousand dollar Italian shoes hitting the cold marbled tiled floor ominously as he headed to the elevator and the lowest level of the building, the floor where all experimentation took place.
And as he disappeared between the silver metal doors his fellows finally slapped out of it and rushed forward in order to follow their cruel and now eager leader. The other man, the one worse then Ulrich was Jeremiah. He despised experimented kids but he adored the suffering they endured from the various procedures. He smiled a friendly smile. A sweet smile laced with bitter poison. "Yes indeed, this shall be most entertaining. You did well Aaron. We haven't had a candidate in ages. Let's hope she survives the selection phase. I so do want to hear her pretty little screams." He said dreamily before sighing heavily and finally following after all the others. "Oh and one more thing. Forget Ulrich's request. The police will be involved soon, best lie low. We'll arrange for someone else to retrieve Red. Now go back to your room." He said calmly as he finally reached the elevator. He had been busy walking away but since the hallway was so small and empty, his voice boomed back to Aaron clearly. And then he too went down with the elevator, a sick smile of eager anticipation on his lips.....

He didn't care anymore. He couldn't let them do that to whoever the girl really was. He wouldn't let them. He didn't care about the consequences anymore. He was not going to let that girl go through what he, and so many unfortunate others had to go through. He couldn't let the scientists continue being the sick, sick creatures that they were.
Balling his hands up into fists, he took a step towards the elevator that led to the lowest floor. A few scientists that were still in the lab looked at him nervously. They had all heard loud and clear the 'orders' Jeremiah had given him. Yeah, like he was going to go back to his room just like that. He hated being told what to do, and he wasn't nine years old anymore. He could only imagine what they could- no, would- do to the girl. Aaron couldn't help but feel guilty. It was his fault, his mistake that the girl was here. Maybe he should have searched that girl's home more thoroughly...but what's done is done.
As he was about to take another step towards the hall that led to the elevator, a younger scientists had the courage to stand in front of him, blocking his path. The younger man was just a few inches shorter than Aaron and had dirty blonde hair. He had dark blue eyes that shone with fear, but at the same time, determination. "I believe he told you to go to your room." The scientist clipped in a cold voice. His arms were crossed over his chest and his tense figure feigned confidence. Aaron stared daggers at the shorter man, but he wouldn't budge.
That's when Aaron broke. If he wouldn't move, he would make him. They deserved it, anyway. They all did. About half a second later, the scientist in front of him practically exploded. The sound of tearing flesh filled the room. Blood splattered across the lab, staining the white colors that surrounded him. The man in front of him had fallen to his knees, his right hand gripping a stump of what used to be his left arm. At first it was silent. All Aaron could hear was his heart beating loudly in his ears.
Then all hell broke loose. Panic spread as the scientist that had lost his arm began screaming in pain. The sound of it pierced his ears, only hearing pain, distress, and fear in the man's voice. The few scientists that had been left- only six- in the lab rushed for the exit, practically running over one another. Just as one's hand touched the doorknob in the back, every single one of his fingers were ripped off, falling to the ground with a soft thud. The next scientist just a few feet behind him suddenly fell to the ground. The other half of his body was next to him, his legs bent in an awkward position. It went on like in that in a line, one after the other. Aaron only turned to look at them when the last one had collapsed onto the white, now red, tiled floor, headless.
Turning back in the direction of the elevator, Aaron stepped around the armless man, who was paling, quickly dying of blood loss. Aaron strode forward, only glancing back at the blood red room once more. Aaron rolled his eyes huffed. The room needed a change of color, anyway. What he had done, though, was finally setting in. There was no turning back.

Cameron became aware again as she was thrown onto a cold metal table. She landed hard and she managed a strangled scream as her broken ribs jostled from the landing. God they were awful. Then someone, a man, a scientist, entered the room and incredibly, stripped Cameron from her clothes. She gasped, her metal spine against the cold metal of the table made her muscles freeze as they were. She couldn't move properly nor easily. She was trapped. And sure she was about to be raped. Only. She wasn't. Instead the man examined her and then left the room. A door, loud and metallic clicked shut in a terrible way. Cameron was alone.
Only she wasn't. Sure she was the only one in this particular room but there was a mirror, a two way mirror and on the other side was a few tech guys and Ulrich with Jeremiah. Then Ulrich nodded his head. A machine sprang to life. It was a biometric scanner. Only it was not medically sound. Sure it could take the most advanced internal images that made 3d imaging look like an old golden oldie but it used a laser, one that was not medically safe and caused severe pain. The machine then swiveled around and started up, beginning cruelly with Cameron's head. She scream as a vicious pain erupted seemingly from within her head. Ulrich laughed while Jeremiah just stared, his eyes entranced.
But before the scanner was even done with Cameron's pelvis the shock to her body sent an electrical shock wave to the ever present nanites, making them reboot out of critical need. And then they gathered energy and set it off. A small buzzing sound came forth and the next minute the room was silent. The machine seemingly malfunctioning. Only it wasn't. It had been turned off through an emp, or an electron magnetic pulse or field. Ulrich's head lifted more while Jeremiah's eyes just narrowed. Then both barked orders for someone to check the machine and another to see if their newest collection was in fact human. They had always feared rival companies after all. But before that could happen.....
Another scientist, a lowly junior assistant came rushing into their room. "Sirs! That boy!" And that was all he said before his eyes widened, he gasped and fell in half. Ulrich cursed while Jeremiah smirked and pressed a button. A red button. What is it with red button's? As Ulrich stepped forward and met Aaron in the hall he scowled. "You nitwit. What do you think your doing?" He said it slowly and with such menace. And Ulrich was completely human. But he wasn't afraid. After all, he was the superior one. The actual human one. Aaron, Aaron was like the other experiment. And the experimented to Ulrich were just pets. Lab rats to a higher purpose. And while Ulrich confronted Aaron in the halls, Jeremiah watched as all the oxygen inside the room was vacuumed out. And left Cameron to suffocate slowly to death. Not that she had long left to live anymore. She had lost nearly half of her body's natural blood volume. And soon there wouldn't be enough left to sustain life.
Jeremiah licked his lips as he chuckled. His eyes insane with greed, insanity and also the most sickening of all, pleasure. He watched as Cameron started gasping for air and start to turn blue. He laughed sickeningly before turning around and walking through a door. No way could he afford to stick around now. He knew Aaron had finally grown a pair and would kill his idiot of a colleague. And he didn't care. As he made his way up and to the parking lot he sighed. To start over he thought wistfully. And then he pulled his car keys out of his coat pocket and clicked the button on it. The sound of a car's alarm system beeping turned of beeped through the vast space. And then the sound of a car speeding away. He could only imagine now what happened next. He licked his lips yet again.
Cameron was inside the room. She was cold and stiff. She tried moving but couldn't. And then a machine started up. And it moved and came closer to her. And then a red beam crossed over her head and it felt like her brain exploded. She screamed and was drawn back into the past. The pain almost the same as that horrible night. She remembered being rushed by air ambulance to her grandfather's company. Remembered the muffled sounds of men speaking, saying there was no way she would survive, or if she did that she would be a quadriplegic. She didn't want that but then again she didn't want to die either. And then the pain abruptly stopped. She felt so cold, so tired. She sinked beneath the black waves.....

Screams of intense pain filled the hall, but at the moment, Aaron had no mercy to give the heartless man. Next was his legs. A sickening pop emitted throughout the hallway, making even Aaron shudder slightly. Let him suffer. A cruel voice echoed in his mind. Aaron blinked. This made him just as sadistic as the scientists, didn't it? But what does it matter, now? The voice said again. Aaron shook his head, clearing his thoughts.
Ignoring the man's screams, he stepped around him, entering the room he assumed was holding the girl. But before he could even take a step inside, he heard a scream. Eyes widening, he ran inside of the room. Seeing a window on his side, he peered through it, slightly afraid of what he would see. His heart sank. The girl was pale, her lips a light shade of blue. Was there any oxygen inside of it? By the way she was making attempts to gasp in a breath of air, he came to the conclusion, that, no, there was no air. Panic filled him. "Shit, how do I-?!" His voice broke off, seeing a small red button standing alone. Could that possibly-? It was his only option. Aaron reached out and pressed the button, holding his breath, waiting for something to happen. He sighed in relief once he heard the hiss of air beginning to refill the small room. Sprinting over to the door that led to the girl, he could only hope that he wasn't to late.

Cameron was only faintly aware of a sound. Screaming... Yeah... That was what it sounded like. But then again she couldn't be sure, not really since she could only really focus on trying to breath which her body seemingly refused to do for her. Not even the nanites inside her body, now spread out, couldn't help her. They were half biomechanic and also half organic creation but they were only in their first stage of development, after all, they were highly experimental and it wasn't even sure if they would function inside a human body. That was prompted the action of secretly implanting them inside her metal spine at the time of her surgery. No, they would need an upgrade first and through outside means. Cameron was on her own on this one.
Only she didn't seem to be alone. Just when her lungs felt like they were about to explode from not being able to breathe at all something happened. There was a sound. A sound of rushing air and then she gasped in a large amount of fantastical, fresh and refreshing oxygen. And then she just laid there and breathed. Some remnants of pain still coursing through her from the scanner and then there was also the fact she was still in a critical condition from bleeding internally. Then there was also the cold metal table. But despite all this the moment the door opened and she turned her head and saw the man, again, her eyes widened and she turned over after yelping from the shock of being seen naked by a man. In fact Cameron had never been viewed in the nude by a man before.

Aaron glanced at the door of the small room. He was tense, ready for anyone else that showed up. Speaking of more people- Where the hell was Jeremiah? If he got away...Aaron didn't even want to think about what he would do. What if he kept trying to come after them when they escaped? He shook, his head, ridding himself of the thought. Now wasn't the time to be thinking of the possibilities.

Cameron heard footsteps but oddly she didn't hear the man speaking. She thought she might be blacking out some so she took a chance and lifted her head up and saw him rummaging around in a corner before she saw him turn and throw something at her. She could feel a breeze on her exposed body before she could feel fabric beside her. She lifted her head again and saw that it was her clothes. She reached a hand out and grabbed hold of her shirt and through sheer will managed to get it over her head and through her arms. Then she got her jacket since the upper body was easier to dress then her lower half. Once she got her jacket on she pushed herself up but only gasped and fell back.
Her side hurt too much. So while she lay there she slipped her pants on though it took sometime to manage it. Then she zipped her zipper and buttoned her button before laying back, completely exhausted and feeling as though she had run a marathon. She then looked up again and saw the man anxiously milling about. She assumed now he was on her side. Or perhaps this was some epic trick. Either way she decided to speak. After all she had nothing to lose in this moment. "I feel cold. My side....." She said and then lifted up her shirt and gasped again, her whole side on which she had crashed into the tree with was all red and bruised, a sign of the blood spilling out beneath her skin. And by now her back ached terribly. She needed to get off of that metal table.

He took a few steps towards her until he was right in front of the metal table that she was laying on. Mow that he had officially defied The Labs, he didn't really think that it would make it worse if he healed her. Hoping the girl wouldn't freak out, he put his hand out, hovering just a few inches above her injured skin. Concentrating on the wound, he could feel it slowly fixing itself. Knowing it would take a few minutes to heal completely, his eyes flitted from the door and back to the girl. He didn't really know what to say to her. Sorry for kidnapping you, I meant to get someone else, didn't sound very appropriate at the moment. But apologizing was a start. "I'm...sorry." He murmured.

Cameron had missed the man's face show since she was still looking down at her side, her eyes still clearly horrified. She lifted up her hand and tenderly touched the bright red skin and nearly cried out from the pain which it caused, her eyes narrowing from it before she bit her lip, removed her fingers and tilted her head back. And then she noticed something once she opened her eyes again. The man was moving closer to her. She tensed up, not knowing what to think of him. First he kidnaps her, though she knew he missed his mark since he was actually after Red, but now he was helping her? That was just the slightest bit..... Bipolar? And then he was right there in front of her. She unconsciously leaned back on the table, not sure what he was going to do in that very moment. However what he did do surprised her very much. He merely reached out his hand and let it hover over her side.
Then Cameron gasped and laid fully back down. She breathed deeply as she felt, actually felt, without pain, her bones reconnecting and sealing back together. Her lacerated spleen weaving itself back together as well. All the pain dissipating and then fully disappearing. Once the feeling ended and he moved his hand away she opened her eyes, staring in awe at the man. After staring like that for what felt like an eternity but was in actuality only about a minute Cameron found her voice. "Your like Red..... But your working for them....." She whispered softly. She wanted to get away now. She wanted off of the table but she was unable to still because of her metal spine. The cold from the table clashing with the titanium of her special metal spine. Now she blushed somewhat, hating having to ask this. "Can you help me off of this table?" She asked softly. Never looking away from his eyes.

"Can you help me off of this table?
He heard the red headed girl say quietly. "Yeah, sure." He answered. Aaron's eyes flitted from the metal table and back to the girl's eyes, feeling slightly nervous. It was strange. He didn't get nervous very often. Blaming it on the current situation, he took the girl's cold hand. He helped her lift herself from the metal table and balance herself on the floor. Despite him healing her, the girl still might be a little tired. Hoping the girl had enough energy to stay standing up, he let go of her hand.
For an idiotic moment, he vaguely wondered if the girl had seen him kill the scientists and guards in the other room. Then he remember that there was a two way mirror that stretched across one side of a wall, stopping just a few inches at the edge of the door. He refrained himself from rolling his eyes. She couldn't have seen him do that, and even if she had. None of that really mattered now. If they were going to quickly get out of The Lab, they were sure to run into more scientists or guards. He would have to use his power again. He knew his power could get a little gruesome from time to time, but it never really bothered him until now.

Cameron watched as the man's eyes went from the table to her own eyes. She wondered idly if he would find it strange that she couldn't help herself off of the table herself. But if he did he didn't voice it. In face all he did was give a curt answer and then indeed helped her off of the table. He even was nice enough to hold onto her hand for a moment once Cameron was on the floor so that she could get her balance back. And once she did he let her hand go. She then placed one of her hands on the side of the table and looked down at herself, making sure she was visually right and also feeling if her legs were strong enough as her body temperature rose and she regained some more natural movement. Once Cameron felt her muscles ache less she knew she would be good from here on out.
Now looking up and at the man she wondered what he was about. If this was only an elaborate scheme of some sorts. But then a very loud alarm sounded and a female computerised voice started sounding off, "Emergency! Subject Bio Rampant!" Cameron looked up with a frowning face at the speakers which sounded the loud mechanical voice into the room. Repeating and then adding warnings of precaution and also evacuation. Then Cameron looked at the man again with a questioning face but it only lasted for a moment. What ever questions she had swirling around her mind for right now could wait. In the meantime escape was of the essence. Getting a serious look on her face Cameron said firmly, clearing, "Where is the exit?"

"Help! Experiment Nine has gone berserk!" Veronica felt her breath catch in her throat. Experiment Nine? She had heard rumors from other scientists about Experiment Nine. The one that had agreed to work for them, for reasons unknown to her. But if she knew anything, it was that Experiment Nine was dangerous. His Biokinesis allowed him to kill, rip people apart, limb from limb. A shiver ran up Veronica's spine. By the sound of the other person on the phone, they had experienced Experiment Nine's power first hand. How had they escaped? Maybe they were just a witness, and had not been seen by Experiment Nine. Whatever it was, she put the other person on hold without a word and raced to the other side of the room where the emergency handle was. Pulling it down hard, the alarm sounded, echoing throughout the entire building. Almost tripping over in her high heels, Veronica went back to her desk as fast as she could. Pressing the intercom button, she spoke into the small microphone, trying to keep the apprehension out of her voice."Emergency! Subject Bio Rampant!" She said with urgency. "Please evacuate the building immediately." thinking more clearly now, she would have to alert security. Possibly the ones outside of the building, too, if Experiment Nine escaped. Picking the phone back up, she dialed a number quickly and pressed the receiver to her ear, tapping her fingers against her desk anxiously as the dual tone sounded. Finally, the other line picked up. "Hello? Security? Experiment Nine has gone rogue." She said. "Surround the perimeter. Do not let him get away."
The sudden sound of the alarm made Aaron almost jump out of his skin. The high pitched sound filled his ears and kept going on repeat. He had a pretty good idea of why they turned them on. He was just surprised it took so long for them to find out, since cameras were stationed at every corner you turned on. Hearing a female voice over the intercom confirmed that they were after him, and possibly the girl, too. Then again, they might not be after her. Every witness that had seen him head toward her room was dead, or so he thought. He take any chances thought. They had to leave. Barely hearing the girl's question over the sound of the emergency alarm, he grabbed her upper arm as gently as he could and began dragging her to the door. "This way." He said, glancing back at her. Making his way through the connecting room, he peered out into the hallway, but to his surprise, it was empty. Not trusting the red headed girl to keep up with him, he kept a hold of her as he quickly crossed through the long hallway.

Cameron finally noticed once her attention was off of her surroundings after doing a quick scan of the general area that the man was rather stiff and looked..... Distracted? He was not really paying attention to her question but more to their surroundings and of course, the voice over the intercom system. She was about to slap him when suddenly he sprang to life and grabbed her arm. Making Cameron both startled and also apprehensive. No one touched her really and she found this small bit of human contact a tad bit overwhelming. However that feeling soon faded and was replaced by one of utter anger. Cameron most certainly did not like being dragged along and was quiet capable of walking by herself. Even if at that very moment, she could not do so.
Her body temperature might have risen and yes the man might have saved her from her bike accident injuries but her metal spine was taking it's time warming up to be fully efficient and not to mention she had just been scanned with a laser which was not pleasant. And to top it all off her nanites were in a state of scrambled-ness and trying desperately to switch on and regain regular functions. In the meantime the man dragged Cameron along through a door, the same door which had allowed Jeremiah to escape. However their escape was hampered by Cameron's unconscious mind. She just wasn't comfortable with this man touching her. He was close. Too close. After her accident, Cameron had all but shut off human contact except for the odd hug from her grandfather and only because he was her grandfather. So Cameron dug her feet into the ground and started yanking her arm, trying to get out of the man's grasp. And when Cameron gave a yank strong enough to remove his hand from her wrist it was also strong enough to send her off balance and make her fall back on her butt.
Landing with an oomph Cameron took a breath and instantly started rubbing her wrist as her spine made a terrible creaking sound. As if metal were being bent. She looked up at the man and gave a half apologetic look to him. "I... I don't like being touched." She said simply and felt her back stiff up on her. She groaned as she fell back slightly, her one hand stopping her complete fall. Some more strange metal noises coming from her small pale body. Cameron sighed as she closed her eyes. It was both a curse and a blessing. Yes she could walk thanks to her futuristic spine but... It came with it's own challenges. Which in the next moment proved to be very useful since when the man bent down to lend Cameron his hand, he narrowly avoided a tranquiliser dart to his shoulder. "Watch out!" Came Cameron's shouted as a huge army of security staff armed with tranq darts came rushing into the narrow corridor.

"I... I don't like being touched."
Aaron's gaze softened a little. He could understand the feeling. Especially since he'd been poked and prodded at for so many years of staying in The Lab. Aarron leaned down to help the red headed girl up. Soon after, he was glad that he did. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw some sort of dart whiz past him, where his shoulder was just moments ago.
Straightened back up, he spun around, his eyes racking the other end of the hallway, the direction the the dart came from. At first he didn't see anything, until he realized that whoever it was that shot at them was probably using the sharp turns in the hall as cover from sight. Leaning back down, he quickly grabbed the girl's hand and helped her to her feet. Letting her hand go, he looked back at the other side of the hall. A man had apparently come out of his hiding spot. The man had a miniature gun in his hand, which Aaron guessed had the darts in in. The man pulled the trigger, and a small dart shot out, aiming straight for his head. Ducking just in time, he decided now would be a good time to get the hell out of here. Turning, he began sprinting away from the men with darts, gesturing for the girl to follow him. "Come on!" He said to her. There was another exit he knew of down this way anyway.
As the two tried to get out of the hallway, the men positioned in the other side of the hall fumbled with their guns nervously. They rarely ever had to use them. They also weren't exactly eager to be ripped apart, limb from limb. One of the men that had actually shot at the two came back around to meet the five he had come with. "There's someone else with him." He told the others in a low voice. "A girl." One of the men in the group shrugged. "So?" He said. "If Experiment Nine isn't killing her, he's probably trying to escape with her. Might as well get her too." The man concluded. Stepping forward out of cover, he aimed his gun, at the girl this time. Narrowing his eyes, he pulled the trigger, only to miss as they rounded the corner. He turned, then said, "Someone, report the girl to the head."

It was something out of a ninja movie it seemed. Cameron saw men appearing and then disappearing only to reappear a moment later. It was rather disconcerting. The hallway was rather narrow. The lights were very bright. Alarms sounded in the background and men's shouts could be heard coming from seemingly everywhere. It was all confusing and if one made one wrong move it would be all bloody over. Cameron blinked, completely surprised that her fall and then the man's sweet gesture had been a good thing. However once she was back on her feet it was all systems go and they only had one chance to make it out of there alive and whole. Or just whole since these people rather enjoyed living 'guests'.
Once the man's voice came into Cameron's ears her body seemed to just respond and she took off after him. She was right behind him the whole time. The more she ran and the more her adrenaline coursed through her body the more warmer she got. And the warmer Cameron got the better her spine heated up and responded so she was more then able to keep up. And she had to keep up since it seemed the lab suits where sending in a more advanced team of security. One that made the word 'elite' seem inadequate in describing them. They moved down the halls and turned corners and made their way down through the levels in a single file and controlled chaotic manner. The only thing going for Cameron and the man was that they were, for the time being, ahead of them since it had taken the lab suits time to gather the balls to admit they have lost control of the situation. And of course once the heads heard of this..... Oh boy.
Meanwhile it seemed that Cameron and the man were only going further inside the building then out, this other route was rather tedious. And Cameron was starting to wear down. Since her accident she hadn't been particularly active. "Are we there yet?! I can't run anymore!" She shouted, still worrying over what she had heard one of the regular security men saying. She didn't particularly want to be hunted down for the rest of her life. Then again for the last year Cameron had been rather lost. Direction seemed..... Useless? Either way she might not have had a clue about what she wanted for the future but she was confident enough that she didn't want this. Not to be hunted. To keep an eye out and look over her shoulder for everything and anything. Fear the smallest things. No. Who did?
And as they finally seemed to come towards the end of the pathway and towards the other door marked 'exit' it seemed that the end was finally in sight. Only it wasn't. The man stopped and tried opening the door but it was stuck. And as Cameron stood there and danced around, impatient and panicking as they were at an impasse since the man was still struggling with the door since it seemed it needed a code punched into the little device over the damn lock. And as the man tried numbers or fidgeting or whatever Cameron saw the elite security team appear. "Hurry!" She shouted as they all lifted their weapons up and aimed. Only Cameron knew that there was no one the man would be able to get the door open in time. And upon realising this, so did the nanites. And being a half cybernetic and half organic life form they took action as it was the final catalyst to their systems finally rebooting.
And once they finally did reboot their systems were functioning seemingly even better then before. And within moments they built up a vast quantity of energy and then, released it. Cameron meanwhile had lifted her hand up in the same moment, defending herself and the man from the inevitable. And so it seemed she did it on purpose whilst the truth was that it was merely a happy coincidence. A massive EMP went off. An electromagnetic pulse. Disabling the exit door's security override and opening it up and also it disrupted the elite team's state of the art electric suits, giving them all a mild shock and rendering them momentarily unconscious like a tazer gun might. Only it affected Cameron too. She blinked, unable to comprehend what had just happened before passing out, her system and the nanites, once more overloaded.

Every sound seemed to be blocked out as panic seeped into his mind. If the scientists caught them now, he didn't even want to think about what they would do to them. Aaron barely noticed the security team lining up behind him, guns raised. Taking a deep breath, he turned his head back, only to see the men suddenly collapsing, acting as if they'd been shocked. Blinking in confusion, he turned to the girl, who also fell to the overly clean floor, just as the security team had. Next to him, the key pad gave off a few sparks, and the door seemed to loosen a little. Only three words crossed his mind at that moment. What the hell?!
What could have done this? Glancing at the girl, he wondered why she had collapsed along with the men. Had she done this? Aaron turned back to the door, that a moment ago, had been heavily guarded by an electric security system. Reaching his arm out, he squeezed the door handle, his hand gripping around the cool metal. He tried turning it again, and this time, it gave way, opening up all the way. Weird. Aaron decided to question it later. Turning back to the girl, he picked her up, draping her in his arms. Glancing past the collapsed men across from him, he couldn't see anymore of the security team heading their way. Hopefully it would stay like that, but he doubted it. When shit happened, The Lab had a surprising amount of strength.
Stepping through the doors exit, he adjusted his grip on the red headed girl. For the first time, he felt free from The Lab. He was out of their strong hold and fighting back. Sure, they would be hunting him down, and now possibly the girl, but he didn't really feel like concentrating on the bad parts right now. You know what they say; Act now, freak out later. Past the loud sound of the emergency alarm, he could hear multiple voices shouting from inside the building. His feet seemed to have a mind of their own as he began moving, not exactly knowing where he was going. The best place he and the girl could be now was away. As far away from The Lab as they could go.
The door that he came out of led right to the sandy beach that The Lab was positioned next to. As he ran, he kicked up the white sand below his feet. Ahead, he could see the small town through the darkness of night that he had originally got the girl in his arms from, the place he had been sent to search for Red. When the girl woke up, she would probably want to go back to her home. As much as he wanted to send her back, that would be too obvious. It would be the first place the scientists would look. Still, he ran towards the town. It was the only place he could really go anyway, unless he wanted to burry himself in the sand and hope the scientists didn't find him. The town would have food and fresh water, which was something that they didn't have.
He knew that the girl probably wouldn't want to stay with him, what with the kidnapping and all, but unless she had found another victim to the scientists experiments, she would need protection. Suddenly, the girl's words came echoing back to him.
"You'll never take me back there."
Maybe the girl did know someone from The Lab. Thinking back, she was obviously covering for Red. And it sounded like she knew what she was talking about when she said there. This girl seemed to know Red, but the question was, where was she? There was a possibility she was at the girl's house...but after him showing up and kidnapping her new friend, he would try to get away from the area as fast as he could.
As he ran, he looked back behind him for a moment. Not far behind, was a woman in a white lab coat. She had a gun in her hand and was surprisingly fast, quickly gaining on him. The woman seemed to be making a desperate attempt in stopping them from escaping. Looking back again, he could see the woman raise her arms, aiming towards him. She pulled the trigger, but her aim was a little off. A bang went off and a small hole appeared in the sand a few inches to his right. He was suddenly glad that the woman had missed as he realized that it was a real gun. Nonetheless, Aaron kept running. Seeing the woman try and aim the gun at him again he narrowed his eyes at her. Before she could even pull the trigger, the arm holding the gun was ripped off of her body. Crimson liquid stained the white sand under her. As Aaron distanced himself, running further and further away from The Lab, he could still hear the woman screaming in pain.
Aaron was practically panting for breath when he came up behind a stone building, finally at the edge of the town. The girl in his arms felt heavier than when he first picked her up. Coming around to the side of the building, he entered an alley. It would have been pitch black if not for the moon that hung above him, illuminating the narrow alleyway. Setting the girl down against the side wall, he tried to catch his breath. He stared back at where they came from, looking for anyone that might be hunting them down. But for once, it was silent.

It was rather funny in a sense. The Lab relied so heavily on their technologies to remake people into something not entirely human and in the end, it had been technology that had given them their biggest knock. Thanks to a tiny little robot with the shape of literally a little bug they had lost a new subject and one of their most powerful and not to mention, obedient experiments. Even now as the man turned and went to Cameron, picking her up and running out the open door and away the 'elite' security force was still lights out from their little shock. And even if they did regain consciousness, their gear was beyond useless.
Cameron meanwhile remained fully unconscious. She missed the escape and the gun show completely. The nanites still struggling to come back online. It seemed they worked rather nicely when they did work but took their sweet organic time getting back into action. But then that might have been a good thing. No doubt Cameron's metal spine and otherwise tired body would have achieved nothing but to hamper the two's escape. After all, sand, hello. Not to mention she had been spared a mild heart attack from the daringly stupid woman's gun battling tries to stop them. It also meant Cameron was spared a lovely limb removal show.
However as the man ran through the city Cameron started mumbling. The nanites were still trying to reboot but that meant they were temporarily offline, not hampering Cameron's natural body responses. So she was starting to regain consciousness. But it was slow since the nanites had converted vital energy and system functions in order to power up for that EMP blast. Cameron desperately needed some food or a sugary drink to give her body a little boost. Already she was even paler then an Irishman. Her flaming red hair like an inferno against her head. Creating a halo effect if one would. But one thing going for Cameron right now as she was pressed against the man, sharing in his body's warmth, heating her own and making her metal spine more functional. Once in the small alleyway though she regained full consciousness.
Blinking Cameron moaned softly, bringing her hand up to her forehead. "I don't feel good....." She muttered before turning her body over, nearly making the man drop her as she wanted out of his arms. Too much touching. Once on the ground and able to stand on her own two feet, albeit also needing to lean against the wall for support, Cameron looked around them. "Where..... Where are we?" She asked groggily. She sounded weak and confused and looked much the same way. And of course she was since Cameron never went to this part of town. It was... Shady to say the least. This part of town crime was rampant, drug dealers and prostitutes lined each corner and gang rapes and murders happened every other night. It wasn't the safest place to be, if you were normal that is.
But Cameron, whether she knew it or not, and the man, where not normal. They were safe from the regular folk and even the Lab who didn't even consider their current location a possibility. Oh no. The heads of the Lab, beyond furious now that they had actually been informed of the recent 'losses' were sending their people to dockyards, airports, bus stops and taxi stands all over the major parts of the city, not to some rancid side street alley in the shittest part of the whole New York City. And that meant that Cameron and the man had some time to figure things out. Some time to relax and actually breathe. Well, snort since it really smelled in that alley way. Most likely since they were surrounded by garbage bins.
Cameron brought her hand up to her face, now feeling sick from the horrible smell. She was still leaning against the wall but she was sinking down somewhat. Her blood sugar was low and lowering dangerously by the minute. It was all due to the nanites but of course, who would have guessed? Cameron herself was an illegal human test subject who didn't even know what was hidden away inside her metal spine. A spine which was the only thing supposed to be placed into her body that horrific day that her limo crashed. But right now there was something else on Cameron's mind. She looked at the man, curious. "What is your name?" She asked him finally.

it was honestly the last question he expected her to ask. After being kidnapped, 'rescued', if you could even call it that, chased down by an elite security team and scientists, he would expect something more like. What the hell just happened?!
But nonetheless, "Aaron." He answered her shortly. He leaned against the wall, then immediately regretted it; it was filthy. But still, he was exhausted from running all the way from the Lab to the town, especially since he had the added weight of the girl to slow him down.
Aaron looked out at the other end of the alleyway. People tended to walk past the narrow entrance from time to time, but none of them seemed to notice them, and if they did, just didn't care. Standing up straight, he went out to inspect the street that the alley led to. Peeking his head out, he could see rows of stores, some of which were surprisingly open, despite it being the dead of night. Aaron wished he had a watch of some sort. Had night just started, or was it nearing the morning?
Looking to the right and left, he could see a few homeless men that littered the dirty sidewalks. Cars would occationally pass by on the road, but none of them bothered them. Was the Lab giving up that easily? Maybe they were still recovering from whatever happened back with the security team and the sudden loss of electricity. Or maybe it was just because they wouldn't think that he and the girl would even consider coming into this part of town. Whatever it was that was delaying them, they had to keep moving. The further away they could get from the Lab, the better.
Turning back to the girl, he was about to tell her to get up and keep moving. However, he'd obviously not been paying attention to her health enough. The girl was white as a sheet and looked sick. Maybe he could rethink his plan and let her rest a little while longer. Walking back to the red headed girl, he leaned back up against the hard brick wall, no longer caring about its cleanliness levels. "What's yours?" He asked the girl. "I mean- your name. What's your name?" Geez. He has a way with words, doesn't he?

As far as Cameron was concerned a spaceship could crash land right next to them and she wouldn't notice. She was feeling so bad that the people, cars, even the man's movements, checking the place out that they found themselves in, was just background noise to her. She had heard his name. "Aaron....." She found herself saying his name aloud, testing it on her tongue. She found that it sounded good to her. Nice. It was a nice name. Cameron looked up at Aaron and after his smooth moves. She found herself raising a brow. "Real smooth. Cameron." She said simply before hanging her head and slouching further down. "I... I don't feel well... Something... Something is wrong with me..." She said softly, sounding scared.
But Aaron was right. They needed to move. There was no time to rest. Even if he hadn't said as much aloud Cameron was no fool. She knew that time was of the essence and that they needed to get out of there, and quickly as well before the Lab's people showed up. So she raised herself up and pushed away from the wall, without further word. Despite feeling like shit Cameron would not just stand by. She would move. Even if each step brought her close to puking or passing out. Or both. She held her stomach and walked slowly away from the wall, unsteady on her feet but none the less moving. Once she was at the head of the alley she turned back, "You coming?" She asked Aaron.

"You should rest for a while first." He said, his voice full of concern. Walking over to her, he was about to- well, he didn't really know. Maybe he was going to pull her back into the alley or help her stand. But before he could, he remembered that Cameron said that she didn't like to be touched. She seemed pretty serious about it and pushed him away whenever he did. So instead, he just decided to stand a little ways behind her, respecting her 'personal space rules'.

As time passed, Cameron felt more and more odd. She wanted to sleep but had a feeling that whatever she did, she mustn't. So she blinked and concentrated on her breathing. And then she had something to distract herself with. Aaron. He came closer but didn't touch her. And she knew it was because of before. because of what she had said to him. She looked at him and knew he wanted to help her, but that he also didn't want to risk making the wrong move. But in that moment Cameron realised that she wasn't well and needed help. She took a breath, feeling only more crap then before, before walking and leaning against the wall with her back. "I don't know what's wrong. I feel nauseous and dizzy. And I..... Weird things keep happening and I don't know why." She said, admitting that she needed some help. That she couldn't really go further or do much alone. Then something happened, the nanites were learning and they were rebooting once more. And then they were online. They were advancing by themselves and sent signals to Cameron's brain, essentially letting her know what her body needed. Cameron blinked, "I think my blood sugar is low, do, do you have something for me to eat??" She asked him, sounding soft but not really hopeful that he in fact did have something to eat on him.

If he didn't know about whatever was going on and he tried to use his power, it might just make it worse. Luckily, he knew about low blood sugar. Aaron reached out to Cameron, hoping that she was right about the whole 'low blood sugar' thing. "Can I-?" Aaron asked, silently asking if it was okay to tough her. Without waiting for an answer, he lightly touched the inside of her wrist and concentrated on the flow of her blood. He hoped she wouldn't mind if he did something like that. But, he remembered reading about low blood sugar quite clearly. Blood sugar at low levels could be harmful, and that was the last thing they needed. As Aaron activated his power, he let her glucose levels slowly rise until he determined it was enough. Aaron quickly took his hand off of her wrist.

It was a long shot in any case. Cameron nodded and was about to turn around and start walking when Aaron walked towards her and held out his hand. He asked her if he may touch her. Cameron didn't answer him. She was too busy being shocked by the fact that he was nice enough to ask her. And without waiting for her, a minus but worth it she would see, he reached out and gently touched her wrist. She kept staring from Aaron to her wrist were his hand was. She noticed that it seemed like he was concentrating. And then she took a deep breath as she suddenly felt a little better. And then a little more. What was happening to her? What was he doing to her? She wasn't panicking since she was feeling better, not worse. But still, this was quite something.
She realised he was like Red, and that he too must have an ability. But he had been working for them, he had kidnapped her in mistake for Red, how could he??? But then again Cameron had no right to judge. It wasn't her place in any case. So she refrained from commenting and merely looked on as he seemed to finish and remove his hand from her wrist. She kept looking down, staring at her skin, her mind whirling to understand before finally looking back up at him. She then whispered softly but audibly, "Thank you." She wanted so badly to ask him about his ability. But now was not the time. Besides, this might have worked for her, but not for the nanites. They still needed the actual substance, not the manipulation of it. Cameron would still have to actually eat. But for now that had to wait. She looked at him and then said, "Let's move."
And then Cameron turned and started walking out of the alley, emerging onto the dirty and overgrown weeded street. She frowned but said nothing about it. She started walking up the street and frowned once more. She had never been here before but somehow knew there was a small convenience store only up the street and on the right. It was actually the nanites, completely fitted with GPS. Their creators had thought about everything really. Cameron didn't look back but knew that Aaron was following behind her by way of his shoes making a noise on the pavement as he walked. And soon they were heading right and a little ways down before Cameron spotted the convenience store. She made her way over and hoped she nor Aaron looked too suspicious. She needn't have worried. The store was empty except for the clerk, a old man in his seventies half comatose behind the counter. She walked in and perused the shelves, seeing what was on offer and thinking what would be needed best. She had also figured out where they could go from here. She turned to Aaron and said, "Get anything you like. I also know where we can hide out after we're done here."

Walking down the aisle that Cameron was in, he stood next to her. "Where are we going to hide?" He asked her, confused, but also glad that she had some sort of idea where to go. Honestly, Aaron had no clue for where to go, so he was grateful that she was here with him. Cameron reached out to one of the shelves and grabbed a bottle of water. Shrugging slightly, he decided that this was all he would need for now. Aaron knew for a fact that he didn't have very good judgement, but he mostly focused on the 'now' instead of 'later', so he didn't really think ahead most of the time.

Cameron was very much like a tomboy. Instead of carrying around a purse or a small clutch she carried a masculine wallet around. Well, a feminine looking one at least. She also didn't carry this in her coat but in her jeans. And since she had gotten her clothing back, well, that little beauty was still in her pocket so she had money, a none track-able method of payment. She looked up after getting some water from the shelf to look at Aaron. "There is an abandoned building not far from here. We can go there, it's a private property." She said and it was true, it was her property. Or more specifically her grandfather's property. But still, it was her's by association. Plus no one went there since it was very much locked up but Cameron knew a way in.
She then proceeded to grab up some more water along with a few sodas and juices and then also various items of food. Some aspirins, bandages, disinfectants, anti-inflammatories, more bandages, a lighter, a flash light with some batteries, a dump cell phone, a small radio, more batteries, an umbrella, two warmer jackets, some gum and also a map of the area before heading to the counter and paying for everything. The cashier raised his brow and then murmured something like "Tourists??" He seemed a little boozed up as well as snoozed up. Cameron then took on her natural British accent and nodded. "Yes we're camping all throughout America, but unfortunately our bags haven't arrived yet from the airport." She said and smiled falsely. It seemed to work as the cashier just nodded and yawned, ringing everything up and taking the large amount of money without a second glance since they were tourist, sure they were 'campers' but even campers had money. He gave Cameron a yellow toothed smile once everything was done and he handed her bags to her. Cameron returned the smile and then turned, walking out with Aaron behind her and then setting off to the building a few blocks over.

Aaron followed her out the door, with a small wave to the man behind the counter, who looked like he was already drifting into sleep. Aaron thought about what Cameron said was an abandoned building. How did she know it was there? She did say it was private property. Maybe her family owned it or something. Was it on this side of town? He hoped so. He didn't feel like walking anymore. He was already tired out from having to run from the Lab all the way to the city, especially with carrying her. But, he supposed he shouldn't be complaining. He didn't want to imagine what would have happened to her if he'd left her there with those psychopaths surrounding her.

Cameron carried the bags lightly, as if it weighted nothing despite the bags being quite full. It was the result of the nanites now starting to work more efficiently as their artificial intelligence grew and learnt. So Cameron's strength was rather increased at this moment, making the bags light. She also walked swiftly, and had to tone it down to stay beside Aaron. She looked at him every now and again. Wondering what his story was. She opened her mouth a few times but only closed it again, no words coming out. She wasn't sure what to say and therefore she decided to stay nothing. Instead she merely kept walking beside him, leading the way towards the dilapidated building which was only three blocks away toward the ocean.
It used to be a factory of some kind, shoes if Cameron wasn't mistaken. But then the owner's business started failing and he had to sell. Her grandfather had bought the building, deciding to keep it as is, just closed off, for a future apartment building. Future since right now that area was not the most ideal but he knew as the police started getting more funding and amped up their patrolling that eventually that would change and make for a great buy since he decided early on that the apartment building will be a high rise building, and therefore have an amazing view since the ocean was only four blocks away from the building site. Of course the current building would be scrapped since it was rusted and almost all of the windows were shattered out. There were leaks from a damaged roof and the wiring needed to be redone as well. Luckily pests were not a problem, yet. The building was pretty well sealed up but as Cameron knew, there was one entrance not so well sealed up. The building was also luckily not worthy enough of guardsmen or dogs, just a high fence with chain link.
It seemed that the walk went fairly quickly enough despite it being awkwardly silent. Cameron walked around the block to the back of the building where she moved some wooden boards aside, revealing a medium hole in the wall. She climbed through and once Aaron was also through she moved the wood back into place. Then she said softly, "This way." Then proceeded to walk to the back wall of the building and then crouched down, kicking out some glass from the basement's small window. Then she slipped in and waited for Aaron to join her. He was luckily just small enough. Once both were in the basement Cameron lead them up the stairs and through the building, up some more stairs and finally stopped at the old owner's office. She sighed, setting the bags down. "Well, here it is." She said.

He walked behind her to a single window that led to the building's basement. When she kicked out the glass and slipped through the hole she made, Aaron came in behind her, being careful to avoid the small sharp pieces of glass still attached to the edges of the window frame. Landing on the cement floor, he saw that Cameron was already making her way up the flight of stairs in the corner of the the large basement. Aaron trailed behind her, climbing up stair and going through different hallways. They only stopped until they were in what Aaron assumed was an office. "Thank you." Was all he said. For what, he didn't really know. Maybe it was for her giving him the guts to stand up to the scientists, even if she didn't know it. Or maybe it was for bringing him here with her.

Cameron was busy unpacking the bags, still not sure how to have the things. Like if they should be taken out and stacked in one of the book cabinets or just neatly repacked into the bags, food with food and other supplies with the other odds and ends, when she heard Aaron's thank you. She looked up and blinked, also not sure what it was for. She looked back down but her hands were still. Then when she finally did look back up she said softly, "No, it's me who should be thanking you. You saved my life back there. Thank you." She wanted to say more though, to ask about his ability, if he could see if there was anything strange about her. Cameron might not have said anything before but she was not stupid. Now she thought back, remembering each moment she had done something that should not have been easy or was just plain strange.
But fear held her back. She was scared over what was wrong with her. If anything was wrong with her even. She took a deep breath before finally returning to packing the bags. She decided it was best for emergencies if the bags remained packed, Cameron only repacking it to be more neat and efficient. When she was done she got a bin and moved all of the stuff on the desk into the bin, sending dust flying. It seems the old owner hadn't even bothered to clear out. There were even still important files and documents in the office. Smart. Cameron coughed a little from the dust. She used her hands to clean off the desk before dusting her hands. Suddenly she just spoke. "Aaron is there something odd about me?"
