Do you think there will be a happily-ever-after ending for Avery and Trent? What do you see for the future of Avery's family?

Michele | 15 comments I think there is a happy ever after for them.. They had an instant connection that I don't think could be ignored, which was obvious I think with their interactions. I think Avery becomes very successful with her new job and also helps adoptive people find their histories in their biological families. I don't think their is any shame in the Stafford family for coming from where they did. It is not their fault that they were kidnapped and put up for adoption and who they were adopted by. I think Avery did right by May and Judy, and that she should embrace her lineage even it isn't glamorous like the life all the people that look to her and her dad lead.

I don't know if there will be a happy ever after for them. I think they live two completely different lives. Lives that would be very difficult to bring together. I think one of them would have to give up a whole lot to make it work. Her political affiliations and lifestyle will always follow her. And let's face it, his island life isn't very conducive to working as a lawyer. (Edisto is in the middle of nowhere. And there is not a whole lot there.) It's a sleepy, out of the way beach community. I can't see how she would be able to practice much law. As much as I love the idea of happy ever, it seems unlikely. Now, if she was willing to give up her lifestyle and just be content with beach life, then maybe. But she doesn't seem like that kind of person.

As far as the family, they will probably continue to go on like nothing has changed. They may explore the family history internally, but they will keep it from the public. There are way to many skeletons for them to do anything but that. I like that the author left the future up to your own interpretation, so I can just imagine things as happy ever after.

Jessica | 9 comments I want to believe they did the happily ever after because Avery never seemed like she wanted that public political life. It seemed very conditioned into her - even her relationship with Eliot. She just did what was expected of her but she always felt out of place. I think she went and worked for that PAC and found some sort of balance between the public lobbying life and living privately.
