How to combine authors who are duplicated?

You can change a name on one profile and you will be asked if you want to merge it with the existing one.You can't do it if one of the profiles is for GR author though.
If there is an alternative spelling for the authors name it would be good to mention it in the description.
Trying to find out how to combine two same authors(Duplicated) into one.
