Mason Lugg Part 1:The book I read, during Freshman year, read halfway and then stopped, forgot about it, and didn’t pick it up until now, was honestly a good book in my opinion, which was The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Tom was not a very good kid, he would always play hookie just to get out of school, which he thought was fun in his opinion, he would also try to get into trouble with his aunt Pollie, by getting into the jam that she makes, which she said in these words

“Forty times I said if you didn’t let that jam go, i’d skin you alive, which was kind of a threat. Going a little off topic for a minute, In this book, it connects kinda to the book “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,” obviously the book “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” stars Huckleberry Finn, which in the book “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer,” it also stars Huckleberry Finn. When I was reading this book, the English was so terrible, because of the fact that it was old English, they would say “Yes” with “Yes’m,” I mean for how bad it was, I would always cringe, every time I would feel like I am losing modern english brain cells because of the Old English.

Tom was much of a troublemaker when he was a young boy, because he thought doing really stupid things, like playing hookie, eating jam in the closet when his aunt Pollie told him not to eat the jam, and not getting along with anyone in the closest town, was fun. Each Monday, Tom would hate, because it began another slow, painful week of school. And each day he would try to play hookie, which never worked. Tom did go to church with his aunt Pollie, because his aunt Pollie forced him to go, which it was just for a morning sermon, no Communion, no hymns, no prayers (unless you count the prayers they do separately as a family), and no bible verses. Which stinks, because I like the full church services, they are much better. As time past, Tom decided he wanted to run away because, he didn’t like his aunt Pollie, or school, or his sister Sid. Believe it or not, word got around the nearby village, and everyone was shocked to hear the news about Tom Sawyer, even though everyone hated Tom. As time went on, Tom was severely desperate, he said that no one loved him, and he also claimed that everyone would be sorry, because Tom wanted to try and get along with everyone, which everyone not let Tom get along with anyone, because they wanted to try and get rid of Tom Sawyer. Tom did return home, and because of that, his aunt Pollie was rejoicing, and said that she would not cause harm to Tom any longer, even if he denied to do something that he should do to make his aunt Pollie happy, and even if he did something really stupid that he should not do. Tom heard some good news as the days went by, which was that one of his old friends, back into his town. In the end, Tom did put peace into his tiny town of St. Petersberg, which he did see the judge of the town, and he said to him “I hope you have a good lawyer to pay for the damages that you caused in the past.
Part 2: This book was ok, if I were to rate it on a scale of 1 - 10, I would give it like a 5 or a 6. I really didn’t like the old English that the writer put in the book, every time I would come up to one of the old English words, I would always feel a little upset just trying to read it, because it was old English, I like the new English, not the Old English.
Part 3: The two Big Idea words I would put in this blog, would be Change, and Guilt, because no matter what area of the book you read, you would always read guilt when Tom, or another character would speak either to Tom, or when Tom would blurt out what he had done to a character in the book.
