Hi,
I say "slight spoiler" but it's not REALLY because the little plot nugget doesn't end up going anywhere and feels like a continuity error?....
Why did Agnes leave a pregnancy test in Lou's bathroom? I mean. Why did she even take it at all, knowing that Gopnik had a vasectomy before they got married? WAS she actually sleeping with the painter???
This is never explained, or am I nuts and missed something!?

Yes she did sleep with the painter and probably others. It is why she tells Louisa about how she really does love him after the incident. I think it is just never said outright because we are just supposed to guess like Louisa is that things are not always as they seem nor are people.
