Hi there. I read this book some 10+ yrs ago. But pretty sure it was written much earlier.
The setting is in a remote area somewhere in Russia I believe. It's a research station, in one of the coldest place.
There was a plane crash (i think) and the pilot was murdered. There was a stewardess whom the protagonist (the scientist) fell in love with but initially he was very suspicious of the stewardess.
There was a handful of colorful characters.
I remember a guy (i think) badly injured and he has diabetes and was carried throughout their journey.
For the life of me I cant remember the author nor the title. But I love the book so much. And for some reason I kept thinking it was Hemingway who wrote it.
Would be wonderful if someone can help. The book as I remember was well written.
