Darren | 7 comments Hi,

I'm fairly new to this and I've found it quite awkward reading books in PDF and Word formats on my pc. The problem for me is that in order to have the text a comfortably readable size, I have the pages too large to be fully displayed on my screen from top to bottom and have to scroll down to finish each page, rather than tabbing to the next. On my phone the pages don't even display side to side in full and I'd have to scroll along, down then back repeatedly (that's using Moonreader btw).

Is this something other Beta Readers have trouble with, or doesn't it bother you? Have you found a setting or reading software that lets you adjust these formats to suit your viewing?

My current workaround is to just convert whatever format I'm sent into Epub with my Calibre ereader, since that then adjusts the text to suit whatever display I use and seems far more easily customized to suit the reader than the formats primarily used for writing.

Any comments or advice please?

Thanks,

Darren the Noob.

I think that there are some tradeoffs. I don't particularly like working from a screen copy. I am much more comfortable with print. I like Word and PDF for search and annotation features. I can send back an annotated copy showing things that caught my attention.
PDF can be downloaded to either the Kindle or the Nook and treated like an eBook.
