Wow, 4th place is pretty good. I can believe the junk food kids eat when left to their own devices... Pretty much the same over here 😉

Annerlee | 2871 comments I'm half way through Hollow (trees)
Hollow by C.T. Marleau
It's a book for young teenagers and there's always something happening.
Also About a third of the way through The Gunslinger which is a re-read and a real pleasure.

If you did Beach Setting then we definitely have one row completed for Card 2 :)

message 155: by Vicki (new)

Vicki | 1538 comments I'm making good progress on my books so I should get a fourth one in. I'm going with Ella Minnow Pea: A Novel in Letters but it will only work as the free space in card 2 that I know of.

message 156: by Lara (new)

Lara | 1426 comments I'm planning to read a police book next, but could do the beach setting instead since Naomi has a police book.

And I finished Zoe's Tale for card 2 starts with Z.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I finished The Girls of August and reported it in the reporting thread.

I'm starting on my third book, The Water's Edge for police procedural. This is an Inspector Sejer Mystery.

message 159: by Lara (new)

Lara | 1426 comments I finished Maid for Love for beach romance and have started Sweet Nothings for food on cover.

Anna Kļaviņa (annamatsuyama) | 1355 comments are we going to move to card #3?

or is there any category/ies on card #2 that has to filled first?

message 162: by Lynn (last edited Feb 13, 2018 11:36AM) (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments We have to fill card 2 first before we move to card 3 .... and yes there are plenty of categories left. Can you not see card 2 on the spreadsheet Anna?

message 163: by Vicki (last edited Feb 13, 2018 12:00PM) (new)

Vicki | 1538 comments I reported ella minnow pea. I was thinking we could move Lara's free space book on card 1 to author starts with T and then still have a free space left.

I will try to read a Debut for card 2 next as well as finish my 1800's book.

I can see it, and thanks for updating it. :D

I plan to read An Unsuitable Heir for new release or historical

OK scratch that. I will attempt to read from an animal's perspective: White Bone: A Novel.

message 168: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Hi Lynn,
I finished my third book and posted it in the reporting thread. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to read now. I'm on my mobile app and can't really see the cards. Do you want me to start on the animal's prospective for card 2 or fill in with something else? If animal, I will start The Art of Racing in the Rain in the morning.

message 169: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Oh, I just saw Vicki's post from two hours ago about her reading Bone White for animal.
I'm confused. Are all the slots for card one assigned and on track? If yes, tell me what you want me to read to help with a spot on card two.

message 170: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Cherie, I think card 1 is on track. All the spots open are currently being read or have been reported but not yet updated. The only one I'm not sure about is Siriusedward for vampires/werewolves/ghosts.

I see your name on Card 2 with family relationship in title, non-fiction and set in US, so I think any one of those would be good. Maybe the first two are the best, as set in US is easy to fill later on if we have to.

message 171: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments You're all reading so much more than expected! Awesome!

I'm coming to the end of my audiobook (person with hat on cover) and am starting to think about what 'listen' comes next. I think I'd struggle to find something for 'family relationships' on audio, but can cover US quite easily.

Is that OK with everyone?

message 174: by Lynn (last edited Feb 14, 2018 04:37AM) (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Ok, this is where we currently stand ....

Card 1
All categories have either been completed or assigned.
The categories still to complete and who they are assigned to are:

First book in series - Peggy
Vampires, Wearwolves, Ghosts - siriusedward
Set in the 1800s - Vicki
Romance - siriusedward

Is there anyone in that list who thinks they might have a problem completing their categories?
Shout now, and we'll probably be able to do something about it

Card 2
The following categories still need to be completed and note whether someone who has been assigned or not:

Trees on Cover - Annerlee
MC police officer or in service - Naomi
Animal Perspective - Vicki
Special Powers - Lynn
Set in US - Annerlee
Food on Cover - Lara
Free Space - No one assigned
Non Fiction - No one assigned
Person with Hat - Annerlee
Historical Fiction - Anna
New Release - Lynn
Family relationship in title - No one assigned
Mountain Setting - Lara
Planes or Trains - Anna

Once again, please shout if someone feels they won't be able to complete the category.

message 175: by Annerlee (new)

Annerlee | 2871 comments Thanks for keeping us right Lynn : )

message 176: by Annerlee (new)

Annerlee | 2871 comments Is Naomi reading for mc police/detective ? (Message 152)

message 177: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Nice overview Lynn!

I'm currently reading 1st in a series and I'm sure I'll be able to finish in time.

Lol, when I counted the number of books we could read based on what people reported when signing up, we ended up with 4 books on Card 2. Now we have only 4 tasks on that card left to finish!

message 178: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Annerlee wrote: "Is Naomi reading for mc police/detective ? (Message 152)"

Whoops, missed that one! Thanks for pointing that out :)

message 179: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Mikaleigh wrote: "I have a Book for family relationship in the title if i can do that one thanks"

Yes that's fine Mikaleigh, you're now down for that.

Cherie - Can you do Non-Fiction?

message 180: by Lara (new)

Lara | 1426 comments I listen to nonfiction in the mornings and just started a new book, so can take one if needed: The Now Habit: A Strategic Program for Overcoming Procrastination and Enjoying Guilt-Free Play.

And last night I started Evan Help Us for mountain setting, as assigned.

Lynn | 2974 comments Lara wrote: "I listen to nonfiction in the mornings and just started a new book, so can take one if needed: [book:The Now Habit: A Strategic Program for Overcoming Procrastination and Enjoying Guilt-Free Play|1..."

Great Lara, I'll put you down for Non-Fiction then :)

Cherie, that means you get free space and can read what you want.

message 182: by Annerlee (new)

Annerlee | 2871 comments Does that mean we can take a glance at card 3... just in case? If so, it might be better to focus on one line (first)?

message 183: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments So as long as everyone can complete the categories that they have been assigned, we will now complete both card 1 and card 2!

Please do shout now if you think you'll have a problem. Otherwise, Card 3 has now been added to the spreadsheet!

message 184: by Lara (new)

Lara | 1426 comments For card 3, I agree that it would be best to focus on a row or column. So, I nominate one of the following:
Row 2
Row 4
Column N
Column G

N might be best because it has the free space and so gives more flexibility. Of course, that means that row 3 would also be good, and looking at the categories again I could easily do nearly any of those.

message 190: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments So, I can read anything for the free space? I will let you know what I will read and look at card three.

message 191: by Anna (new)

Anna Kļaviņa (annamatsuyama) | 1355 comments i started Splintered for card #3, fantasy.

Vicki | 1538 comments Cherie wrote: "So, I can read anything for the free space? I will let you know what I will read and look at card three."

Looks that way Cherie! Though maybe you could do something for card 1 in case siriusedward doesn't make it? Have we heard from them?

message 193: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments siriusedward checked in on 11th Feb saying they were starting their first book.

I've just sent a friend's request, and included a message asking how they were doing and to check in on the team thread.

message 194: by Cherie (last edited Feb 14, 2018 12:10PM) (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I can start a romance when I get home from work tonight.
I only brought my Nook with me, so I am going to start Hero. It is set in Australia, is a 1st in Series, and is Science Fiction, which covers two squares in the free space column on card three, if need and will cover me for the Free Space on Card 2. It is only 221 pages. I might be able to do one more... ;o)

message 200: by siriusedward (last edited Feb 14, 2018 01:12PM) (new)

siriusedward (elenaraphael) | 887 comments Yes I do,Thanks Peggy.

And at least I could read some books nonstop.
I am also reading Scarlet...
Can Cinder be one of the MC here, since half the book is about them...more or less...?
It does have train in the story...with some action around it.. so maybe I can use it for that instead..?
