I've just finished At the Mountains of Madness for Professor MC. It was heavy going at times but the last chapter has really creeped me out. Wasn't expecting that at all!
It'll be interesting to see what you think. That Lovecraft has a WEIRD imagination.

...clutching book. I'm grinning imagining it ; )

Will also be ok for trees on cover, snow on cover, standalone, set in United States (Alaska), author debut

She has to be at work to open the restaurant tomorrow morning at 6 am and it takes almost an hour for her to drive to work, unless she rides her motorcycle. Ok, back to reading...

Non readers are so inconsiderate. I hate that! They think you're only reading out of boredom and because you've too much time on your hands..
Your daughter sounds so dedicated. She must love cheer leading.

I've finished book 1 Letters to the Lost and book 2 Speedbump, and in the middle of book 3 Finders Keepers (which I'll probably finish today) and book 4 The Hammer of Thor

I loved it. That's how I like my horror.

So, I just posted that I finished Viscount Vagabond and am now starting A Dangerous Talent. So far this challenge is encouraging me to read books I've had for a while.

I've never thought of listening at increased speed... good tip

card #2
trees on cover, set in 1900s, mc has special powers, mystery, set in England

I'm going to read book 3 next - an Agatha Christie for 'female author'. Doing a lot better than I expected.
After the Funeral

Does that mean you've finished book 3 Anna? I don't have anything in the reporting thread.

"
No, I'm currently reading it.

I am starting the beach umbrella on the cover book, The Girls of August. I saw that Almeta only gave it two stars.
Valkyrie Risingcould be used for Debut Novel on card two, and also female author, if someone else wants to read it. It will fit in my yearly challenge for the Mythology task and could also be used for female, unmarried and under 20 yo. Ellie is 16 in the story, set in Norway.

I have started my first book Slave to Sensation too.
It can also fit female author,MC has special power,MC belongs to a group or pack, set in USA, first in the series.

Have started The Gunslinger on audio for hat on the cover

I'd also like to tackle trees on cover if thats ok with everyone? I cant see page 2 of the spreadsheet on this device to check, but I think it's still clear...?

edit: hm, the box for trees on cover is coloured and has points, so I think that means it's covered already. But it does have your name and The Snow Child in it. Did you read it already?

Great. Thanks Lynn. Sorry for causing the confusion. I can't see page 2 of the spreadsheet just now...

I read it at the weekend and really enjoyed it. It has a fantastic sense of 'place'. I could hear, see, taste Alaska in the Summer and especially in the Winter. And I loved Esther!

You're on a roll now Peggy!

I see I am marked on card 2 as Police detective but I don't think I will be able to read for that one after all and I am the only one listed so if anyone can pick it up that would be great. I can always just go to the library and grab something quick though if needed but all the books I own are private detectives which I don't think will work.

No worries Vicki - you weren't down to read that category, just down as a preference. I've now removed it.

I don't know how much she loves Cheer leading, but she does love her daughter. She and her husband have been very supportive of the team. They have driven all over the state to provide food and drinks for the girls when they have been in competitions. You cannot believe what the kids end up eating most of the time. They practically live on granola bars and junk food from the concession stands - that cost so much money. Danyell made the Cheer team when she was a Freshman. Oh - and her team won 4th place in their division at the tournament on Saturday!
