Team I: There's No I In Team

The Blue Castle may fit Coming of age I think. Set in Canada. She is diagnosed with some disease, don't know if its life threatening.Female author.L.M.Montgomery.A classic.A standalone.Set in 1900s.

I've put you down for the 2nd book in a series

I really could do with the rest of peoples preferences, so we can work out who's reading what to fill the card.

Do you mean preferences of the people who haven't gophered yet, or from everyone? I'm flexible with those tasks I mentioned earlier, don't really have a preference.
Maybe at some point we (you) should just start assigning tasks to people, especially the more difficult ones, and then people who haven't posted their preferences can fill up the easier tasks (like male/female author, one word title, etc.).
Let us know if you need a hand with something!
Also, do we have a score tracker for next week? Might be a bit much if you have to do the organizing and the tracking.

Maybe we can use Vicki's suggestion of 'I on the prize' for our reporting thread?

The spreadsheet is already set up to keep track of points, so it's no real hardship for me to do it. But yes I will set up a separate thread for reporting before the Toppler starts :)

Currently what's left is:
MC is teacher / professer
Set during a war
Young Adult
Free space
One word title
Female Author
Laura, Annerlee and Naomi still have to be 'assigned' any categories as I don't have their preferences.
Of course, things can still be changed around at the moment ....

MC is a teacher and set during a war look like they might be tough for us.

Reading
At the Mountains of Madness for Professor MC or horror
Why I'm No Longer Talking to White People About Race on audiobook (female author or non fiction).
Is that ok?

As long as everyone has a first book planned and their name on any other's, my plan for my second and next books is to see what is open and let you know what I can read next. I really DO, have a book to fit every category on the first card. I have not looked beyond that.

Id like to find a few more books as backup and it would be good to know which categories to check.

With that in note, if anyone feels they are going to struggle with the amount they've been assigned shout now. That way we can probably give it to Lara (or swap something around).
I'm going off to put together card 2 spreadsheet now.

So for anyone who thinks they'll get to card 2, please let me know your preferences (who haven't already).

Epistolary style book The Nun * most likely
Horror At the Mountains of Madness "
Just checking through the posts and just noticed this - Anna please note that I put you down for Horror rather than Epistolary. I hope you don't mind but it fit better that way for the team.

Lara - You have 2 books on card 1 (I put you down for the free space), which I believe means you can read 3 books for card 2 but I don't have your preferences.
Naomi, Anna - You both originally said you might be able to read 1 more book than you've been assigned. However I've not got your preferences .... so assuming you can't do any extra?
Peggy, Cherie, Vicki & siriusedward - I've put your preferences in card 2 .... however I think we may have hit your maximum books on card 1?

How many of these can you potentially manage?"
Maybe two, depending on what I read - IF I finish all three for card 1. I have several that are under 250 pages. I should probably remove myself from The tree on cover. The only book I have has 493 pages.
The books I am assigned to on card 1 are 352 pages, 240 pages, and 223 pages.

I'm going to be out most of the day and evening too but will have my kindle with me. I will be back online to record anything on Sunday.
Please remember to report any finished books in the reporting thread, NOT this thread (link in the top comment of this thread)

Enjoy☺☺

Hi Lara - Is that the only three you can do, or did you offer to do these because they were currently blank? (totally fine if it's the former)
I'm asking because it would probably be more useful for you to do 3 in the same row or column. That way we only need two more people to read a book and then we get extra points for completing a row or a column.

Happy Reading everyone!

It was the latter. I can easily read others.

That's ok. The Nun will easily fit for 2nd card.

Do you know if the books you listed for card 2 also fit other tasks? If not that's no problem, but if they do it's always good to know so that we have options in case we want to switch things around.
And yes, toppler books can be combined with all other reading activities.
