Boy Dorms
>
Tobio and Cael's Dorm

"Oh, yeah, I- it was my mum's idea. My parents always get us one twin gift for whatever holiday it is." He said turning back to the stove and rechecking the temperature for the fourth time.
"It was a bit lengthy." He mumbled more to the us-than to Tevi. When he was completely sure that the pot wouldn't boil over he turned back around to see that Tevi had drifted off. He wiped his hands on his apron and walked over, laying the back of his hand on Tevi's forehead, no fever. His breathing looked and sounded fine. He kissed Tevi's forehead.
"I guess the cook will just have to kiss you instead." he murmured before sitting down on the floor and leaning against his bed.
((Sure.))

Finally, taking a deep breath, Tevi knocked on the door. He could only hope that it was Tobio who answered, not his roommate. Although in his entire relationship with Tobio, he had never even seen the other boy at all. He was always busy with one thing or another.

He'd just closed another dumpling when there was a knock on the door. He thought he heard himself say to come in but he couldn't trust that he didn't just think it. Clearing his throat he repeated himself.
"Door's open." He said, not looking up.

"Hey." He said weakly, slowly closing the door. The room smelled like vegetables and spices. It always smelled good in Tobio's room. He was a master cook. Leaning against the wall, he shoved his hands into his pockets and looked down nervously at the floor. He hated feeling so uncertain. Before, seeing Tobio made him nervous with butterflies, but the nice kind. Now it was just plain nerves. He felt like a horrible boyfriend, he was a horrible boyfriend. He liked someone else. He couldn't change the way he felt though and he knew that Tobio deserved to have some closure about their relationship.
"We have to talk... about us" He murmured gently.

"I know." He replied placidly. He'd known that this was coming. "If you don't want to talk you don't have to. I have an idea of what you want to say." He said. He didn't know what to do with his hands until he remembered he was wearing a hoodie and stuck them in the pocket. He looked up at Tevi, his green eyes mildly squinted, analyzing. The light was dimmer in this room, his normally white hair looked almost honey colored and the lenses of his glasses were reflecting the tiny bit of light they could. He couldn't look at Tevi in this light anymore. He looked down, worried he'd start the process of falling love all over again when Tevi was clearly here to end it.

The smell of vanilla reached his nose and he smiled softly. Tobio and his scented candles. It scared Tevi how placid Tobio was. It was as though he had been expecting it. Maybe he had. It would be hard not to notice that they hadn't been hanging out nearly as much as before. How something between them was just different. Tevi knew that Tobio was a sensitive person. He understood things about people that no one else noticed, it would be naive to think that he wouldn't have noticed those things in their relationship.
"I guess I just want to say that i'm sorry." He looked at his shoes and then back up at Tobio. He looked so beautiful and once again, Tevi felt a moment of doubt. Could he live knowing that he had hurt this boy? But he knew that he would only hurt Tobio more if he didn't break up with him.
"I promised that I wouldn't hurt you... and I am." He crossed his arms uncomfortably and looked away yet again.
"But I also wanna say thanks. Because you are amazing... and i'm an idiot to break up with you."

Tobio was almost completely sure he knew why Tevi was leaving too. It's not as if he hadn't known about the girl Tevi had been with prior to him. He knew of Sienna and he felt a tug in his gut telling him that it was for her. He could be completely wrong, but he did know that even if this wasn't for Sienna then Tevi was leaving him for someone else or something else. Tevi hadn't seemed unhappy in their relationship and if something hadn't been going on they probably would have been spending more time together. They'd both had other things happening that the other may have only had a vague idea about. Maybe if they'd communicated, maybe if they'd had a date night. All these maybes. It was too late now.
Tobio could see Tevi's adams apple bobbing, a key factor in determining the way any male was feeling, when it bobbed they were typically nervous. And this certainly was a fine time to be nervous.
"You don't have to be sorry." He said. He nudged a book aside and folded his leg under him, sitting on the edge of his bed. "And you're not an idiot." He looked up at Tevi, wanting to just kiss him now but knowing that if he did he probably wouldn't stop.
"I'm sorry that I made you feel so upset about this. It should be easier. I think I held on too long, but you know, better late than never I guess." He paused, biting his lip, he'd put the piercing back in since he hadn't had a reason to have it out any more, he was still forgetting that it was there and his teeth hit the cold metal ring. He looked surprised for a moment and then inhaled deeply.
"I don't think we're breaking up. We already broke up a while back. The door to our little birdcage of love was closed while we were together, and it's been open for a while now. We were just to scared to leave it. Now we're leaving it. And I think that while we flourished, it came our time to wilt, and we aren't perennials, so we're not going to make a comeback. This is it for us and I enjoyed the time we had together. The dance, the storm on the beach, the road trip. However unfortunate those may have turned out to be. I liked being with you and I still love you. Just in a different way now I guess. After now, I'm always here for you if you need me. Food, homework, comfort, whatever. I'm here if you need me."

He had never thought that it would be possible to love two people at the same time. it seemed inherently wrong. Love was a precious resource, it didn't seem right that someone should be able to love more than one person, it's a waste of love. But here he was, totally utterly in love with two people in the way only a teenager could be. He had tried really hard not to feel the way he did about Sienna but he couldn't help it.
As much as he loved Tobio, he had to let him go. Keeping him trapped in a relationship like this would be cruel. But he didn't want to let him go because he did still love him. Swallowing hard, he chuckled softly. The type of laugh that's there only to hide the tears. He wasn't crying, he didn't dare. Despite having reconciled a little bit with his father, Tevi had still grown up in an environment where men weren't supposed to cry. It was just habit now and he was dry eyed even though he was crumbling on the inside.
"Jeez, Tobio. Here I am breaking up with you and you're trying to convince me that i'm not an idiot." He smiled sadly. Tobio really was too good for this world.
"One day... you're going to be a famous poet and i'm gonna be able to say that I knew you in high school." He grinned and walked over to Tobio. He had been trying to keep his distance so that he didn't do something rash, but he knew that he had to say goodbye properly. It wasn't like they'd never see each other again but even if Tobio wanted to be friends, Tevi wasn't sure how that was going to work. Being 'just friends' with people in the past had worked well for him. That was why he was in this mess in the first place.
"I'm glad that we tried this. You make me really happy Tobio. Thank you." Kneeling down so that he was face to face with Tobio he leaned forward and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. It wasn't a romantic kiss, but all his feelings were in that little kiss. Everything he had felt for Tobio, and everything he still did. He was letting those feelings go and he felt selfish leaving them with Tobio, but he couldn't help it.
Getting up, he brushed off his pants absentmindedly and with another sad smile, left the room. As he walked down the hall, he promised himself not to look back. He wouldn't look back, but he couldn't help himself and glanced back for a second. Just to see the first boy he had ever truly loved, looking perfect in the honey lighting.

He trusted Tevi, in that he was sure that he did feel like an idiot for leaving him because he had loved Tobio so unconditionally. He'd felt that love, it's warmth, it's brightness. It made him smile, really smile for the first time in years. And Tobio would be forever grateful for that. For the anxieties and the calmest of moments. For the rage, for the sadness, for the joy, for some of the best times in his life.
That night on the beach kept coming back to him. both of them soaked to the core and shivering just a bit while the rain pounded and the waves were beating the shore with a fury unrivaled by any other. The state of their suits and caution thrown to the wind, the lightning and the thunder and the moment in the cave, that hollow silence that wasn't ever really silent just before Tevi answered the phone. That was them. They were a storm that ended soon after it began, leaving footsteps in their wake and chaos and love and disconnections that never really connected again. They were a match, struck, lighting a stick of incense, it was nice while it lasted but it burned out too quickly. The smokey remnants lingering in the room were finally leaving and the scent would be stuck in their shirts until they were washed away, leaving nothing but the memory of one night when a stick of incense was burned for ambiance.
"Well you're not an idiot. You're smart for avoiding self destructive tendencies. that's just the sign of a troubled teen." He replied with a touch of humorous sarcasm. He let Tevi kiss him, restraining himself and feeling everything that was going through Tevi's head. He wanted to pull him close and lie with him until this all went back to being better. He wanted to relight that stick on incense. He knew better though.
"Parting is such sweet sorry Tevi Valesco, I'mjust glad the first time had to be with you so every other one is dulled." Tobio responded softly, nearly inaudibly. He watched Tevi leave, making eye contact one last time before the door shut between them. He fell back into his bed, onto the clutter. Tears began to leak out of his eyes but he was hardly aware of them. He stood briefly and took his dumplings away from the heat to cook later and cleared a space on his bed where he curled up and cried until he fell asleep. The best part of his life, vanished, like the smoke of a stick of incense. Slowly at first, then all at once.

"Mmm, I play volleyball and hang out with friends and my boyfriend and I paint. I love painting, I think it helps get more out for me. I understand it better ya know." He said smiling again. "What bout you?" He asked as they reached Tobio's room. Sebastian stopped and knocked waiting for Tobio while looking at Charlie, awaiting his answer.
Tobio had just finished setting up the movie when Sebastian knocked. He sighed, not ready for the social interaction he knew that Sebastian typically asked someone to join them before asking Tobio if he was up for it so he was used to not having a choice in this. His brother didn't mean to do it, it just usually happened that way. He stood up straighter, though he was still slouching, and walked over to open the door. He swung it open and turned around to start fixing plates, then stopped and turned back around. He looked Charlie straight in his eyes. A list of obscenities went through his head.
"C'mon in." He said weakly, stepping to the side.

He almost forgot to respond but realized after a moment that Sebastian was waiting for his answer.
"Oh. I enjoy drawing. Actually I met your brother in the visual arts class." He said with another quick flash of a smile before the door opened. Tobio's expression was the best part of Charlie's day. Well... actually his lack of expression was. His face hardly seemed to change at all, but he locked eyes with Charlie and the message was clear. Tobio was not happy to see him. Which Charlie didn't mind at all. In fact, he had been counting on it. In response to Tobio's long stare, Charlie smiled widely and stepped into the dorm room. He felt a little bit like a vampire who had just been invited into it's next victim's house. Very, very powerful.
"I hope you don't mind that Sebastian invited me to eat dinner with you... I was actually hoping to talk to you about that art project we're doing so this is kinda perfect!" He said, the perfect picture of a polite guest. He then twisted his face into a concerned frown and asked quickly,
"Do you need help with anything?" He asked.

"Tobs!" He said rather loudly as he squeezed his brother. Tobio just patted him on the back.
"Charlie said you two know each other?" Sebastian asked, hoping to illicit a happy response. Tobio just nodded. He was dead set on giving nothing away tonight. Of course Charlie would do this, he'd been struggling to figure out what to tell Sebastian but it had already happened. The same day Tobio had tried to stop him Charlie had managed to force his way into Sebastian's life as well. Tobio had no doubt in his mind that Charlie would find a way to break Sebastian and all he could do was try to pick up the pieces.
He twisted his head and looked up at Sebastian, if he had ever bothered to stand up straight he wouldn't have to look up at his brother, they were the same height.
"Can you select the English version and get through the previews on the movie?" He asked Sebastian to get him to give Charlie even a moment to exchange a look.
"Of course." Sebastian said practically prancing to the TV.
"Everything is set up so don't worry about it." Tobio replied to Charlie in monotone. He gave him a simple blank look, everything was conveyed through those bright green eyes, set in his face like pools of liquid ivy. There was anger of course, and sadness, but also relief. He was relieved that someone he knew had come instead of a stranger and he hated himself for it. Tobio closed the door to his room. It was significantly dimmer in this room than most others. He'd turned on two lamps because they were having company but he typically only had on the small one on his desk. His bed was made up with simple black sheets covered in white writing. There was a small table next to the bed and floating shelves of books lined the wall that connected to the bay window. There were even more books stacked around the bed and on his desk which had an open manuscript on it, there was a trunk that held his manuscripts and the wall above both the desk and his bed was covered in sticky notes of different colors. At least in his own room he didn't stand out.
He ran a hand over his face under his glasses. "We're having dumplings and yakgwa, it's sitting in the oven to keep warm until we're done. There's about six different types, help yourself." He said, leading Charlie to the kitchen. He made a plate with at least twelve dumpling on it and handed it to Sebastian, already knowing what he liked. He curled up on one edge of the couch and Sebastian sat down in the middle, patting the seat next to him for Charlie.

Although he was looking at Sebastian, he could feel Tobio's gaze prickling at his skin. Eventually, he turned to face the other boy, locking eyes with him. He knew he should be focusing on the messages being sent to him through that solemn gaze, but instead, he found himself falling into the deep green of Tobio's irises. They were such a pure green, not like anything Charlie had ever seen before. Not the muddy green-brown which people liked to call hazel. Nor the sea-green which shifted from blue to green on any given day. Instead, his eyes felt like the bright green of a forest after a rainfall. Everything bright and dripping with crystal droplets of water. They were so calm and yet so lively at the same time. Like the forests they emulated, so full of life but calming to a city boy choosing to walk into the quiet trees. But it was easy to get lost in the forest and Charlie did not want to turn around only to find his path had disappeared. He forced himself to back away, out of the green whirlpool which threatened to pull him in. As he was drawn back into reality, he saw the emotions flashing through Tobio's look. Anger but also a sense of familiarity. As if he was semi-comfortable with Charlie's horrible nature. It may be cruel and destructive but at least it was familiar. For some reason, the relief in his gaze made Charlie feel a spark of contentment.
"You're quite the cook." He said with a raised eyebrow. He didn't smile. His smiles were Sebastian. Tobio knew better than to expect them. Grabbing a plate, Charlie selected a few dumplings. He wasn't a very adventurous eater but he had to admit they smelled amazing.
With Tobio having retreated to the couch, and Sebastian also sitting away, Charlie allowed himself to take a moment to look around the room. He had to admit, it had been exactly what he had expected. Books lining shelves that floated against the walls. Papers sitting by dim table lamps and sticky notes everywhere. The air in the room was thick with thoughts. Charlie had a distinct feeling that if he were simply to reach out his hand he might be able to grab an idea just from the air itself. The entire place was so... Tobio. It made Charlie quiet a little bit. It was not a room that invited chaos.
Stepping past the writing-table, Charlie sat down next to Sebastian with a gentle smile. He had been hoping to sit next to Tobio rather, but he wasn't going to ask for a change in the seating arrangement.
"So, what are we watching?" He asked, peering over at Tobio.

He looked at his brother from the corner of his eye. "Careful that's a soup dumpling. You have to eat the whole thing at once or it'll spill." He said, "You too Charlie, the small round ones are soup dumplings, you have to eat it in one bite. My bad for not telling you sooner." He said. He blinked out of reality and back to his brother's nature. Sebastian with the flashlight eyes and the hollow point smile, piercing through to anyone's heart, bulletproof or not. His energy could do one of two things. It could spread, making other people more energetic and happy, or it could take by sucking the life out of others. Sebastian was none the wiser but after living with him for so long Tobio could tell. He'd built up a bit of immunity to it but when Sebastian was too intense for too long he did tend to get exhausted.
"Sco-"
"Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World. Sorry Tobio I'm excited." Sebastian cut in.
"That's fine." Tobio said turning back to the TV as the movie began.
((Sorry I've been gone, mentality went down hill real quick lol))

Charlie didn't know the movie, but he smiled faintly anyway. It was still jarring to see the difference between Tobio and his more energetic counterpart. Something about Tobio disappeared in his brother's presence as if he was a shadow being overthrown by the sun. Still, Charlie was somewhat grateful he was there. He wasn't sure he would be able to handle Sebastian's energy without Tobio's dampening quality. While it seemed much less effective with Sebastian close by, Charlie could still feel the gentle calmness that radiated off of Tobio.
He took a bite of a dumpling, luckily not one of the soup ones because it was the tiniest most hesitant bite in the world. Charlie had always been peculiar about food and this was far out of his realm of routine. Immediately he could tell that the food was good. It had all the tastes and the spicing of great food... but he didn't like it. He didn't know why, but he just didn't like it. His diet of cold pizza, crackers, apples, and carrots seemed boring to others, but it was nice for him. Usually when he didn't like something he would just leave it on the plate. But as the movie started, he risked a glance at Tobio again. He knew the other boy had worked hard on the food and for some reason, he didn't want to disappoint him by not eating it. Charlie had never felt such an inclination before. To force himself to eat something he didn't like simply to spare another person's feelings. But before he had time to even think about it, his mouth was already closing around the rest of the dumpling. He tried his best to swallow quickly and hold his breath so he couldn't taste any of it.
((It's totally okay! These are trying times...))

Tobio had curled his legs and rested his head in his hand, keeping watch on Sebastian, the movie, Charlie and the oven, it was just on keep warm but he still didn't want the dessert to become overdone. When both the other two were finished he unfolded himself from the couch and took their plates to the kitchen and put them in the sink. He pulled the yakgwa out of the over and arranged it on a plate for them to take an eat off of. He set it on the coffee table and went back to the kitchen to start quietly putting the extra dumplings in containers. He'd eat later at night while he was writing and leave the rest to Sebastian and Charlie if he wanted any. He'd seen Charlie attempting to keep a poker face while he was eating. Tobio figured he must have screwed up the spices or something. Maybe they were under cooked? Or overcooked? He was stressed now, what had he messed up, these were recipe's he'd had perfected for nearly two years now. Was he too mentally preoccupied when he made them? His hands were shaking and he transferred his dumplings to containers to store in the fridge. He had half a mind to throw them out and restart. Or cry. But he held his own and finished packaging the dumplings. He walked over to his desk and scribbled a note 'Rework the dumplings, they're bad.' He stuck it on the fridge for later and sighed.
As he sat back down he curled up again, trying to pull himself from his thoughts and back to the movie.
"This is good." Sebastian told him with a pastry in hand.
"I figured you'd like it cause of the honey."
"I do, have you made them before?"
"Nope. I was testing something new for you." He replied, his eyes softening.
"Tobs." Sebastian said hugging his brother again and laughing. Tobio rolled his eyes playfully and motioned to the TV.
"Right, back to Scott Pilgrim and the vegan ex-boyfriend." Sebastian said, focused again.

Charlie watched Tobio move around to the fridge and then settle back on the couch. The dessert looked good, but Charlie wasn't willing to try it. He had already pushed his was through the dumplings and he wasn't willing to do it with dessert. He was happy that Tobio didn't suggest he try any and instead turned his attention to Sebastian. With a start, Charlie realized he hadn't even thought about Sebastian for almost the entire movie. He had been too busy thinking about Tobio. He watched them interact now with a bemused look. How lovely it would be to have a relationship like that with his brothers.
As the credits rolled, Charlie stretched out and then stood up, shaking out his limbs.
"That was really good!" He exclaimed, gesturing to the screen. In reality, he hadn't been paying all that much attention to the movie plot. He smiled gratefully at Sebastian and thanked him again for inviting him. Still playing the happy-go-lucky boy who was just enjoying being invited to hang out with some friends. Picking up his plate he retreated to the sink where he looked around for some soap to wash his dishes. On the way he noticed the sticky note on the fridge. He had seen Tobio writing something during the movie but hadn't been able to read it. Now he could see what it said. Setting his plate down on the counter he glanced up until he caught Tobio's eye, took the sticky note off the fridge and tore it in half. He tilted his head slightly before smirking. After another pause, he strode over to Tobio and said softly,
"You're an anxious little thing aren't you?" He muttered, ensuring Sebastian couldn't hear.

"Right? I love that one. The combination of video games and cinema and then Michael Cera just being super funny. I Love that one." He said excitedly.
Tobio unfolded himself from the couch slowly, rolling his shoulders. It had been a while since Sebastian had brought a friend over, but that was only because he was preoccupied with his boyfriend. Tobio walked towards the little kitchen area to take over on dishes when Charlie made eye contact with him, he watched Charlie's hands and his stomach lurched. Tobio glanced back at Sebastian who was busy trying to get the DVD out. When he looked back Charlie was right in front of him. Tobio raised an eyebrow at him.
"I thought you'd have noticed by now." He mumbled slipping the torn note from Charlie's hand and slipping past him. Why did Charlie feel the need to do this? He was trying to fix something he'd obviously messed up and Charlie just had to go and nitpick that too. And yet, the only reason he wanted to fix the dumplings was because Charlie hadn't liked them. He sighed and lined up the sticky note as best he could and pressed it back on to the fridge. Staring at it he ran a rand through his hair before turning and picking up Charlie's plate. He washed it and set it in his little drying rack before turning and leaning against the counter.
Sebastian finished with the movie and set the case on the coffee table. He picked up the plate of Yakgwa and brought it over to Tobio who promptly took it and started putting it in a container for him.
"Dumplings?" He asked.
"Oh, I'm, uh. I'm gonna revamp them a bit so I need the rest to see what I can do to them."
"I think their good. Why change them?"
"I just, felt like it I guess. I'll bring you some of the new ones when they're done yeah?"
"Okay." Sebastian said cheerfully. Tobio hadn't touched the recipes for those dumplings in years, but he obviously didn't want to talk about it so he didn't press.
"Do you want me to walk you back to your dorm?" Sebastian asked turning to Charlie.

Also... is Sebastian gonna break up with Colt??? (been stalking your rp with Bennet)))

Also, yes. Aside from some other things, I'm just not diggin the relationship anymore so they will be splitting up.))

"I've noticed you have anxious tendencies. I didn't realize you were anxious." He replied with a shrug.
He watched again from a distance as the two siblings interacted. They were so at ease with each other. Sebastian, the shining sun, and Tobio, the gentle moon. They seemed to live in tandem with each other. Always aware of the other, but never infringing on their brother's privacy or needs. He should do some art about them. Not just Tobio, but also his brother two. Together they made for quite the contrasting piece. Charlie had always been fond of contrast. It seemed Tobio hadn't gotten the message about the dumplings, but Charlie wasn't about to outright say something like, 'they aren't actually bad. I just have very picky taste and it's not even really about the taste, it's more about the texture... so like, they aren't bad. I just don't like them' so Tobio was just going to have to figure it out by himself.
Swinging his bag onto one shoulder, Charlie gave Sebastian a lopsided grin.
"You've got stuff to carry and my dorm is kind of far, but I'd be happy to walk you to your dorm!" He said pleasantly. he wanted to see where Sebastian's dorm room was. Maybe even get a sneak peek into it.
((Ooooh right.))

"I'm more than just anxious." He shot back, exasperated. There was so much he needed to get done. When we he going to fix the dumplings. The ideal tie would be right now but he didn't have the ingredients and the one's in the fridge would be getting col. He'd just go it tomorrow and see what he could do. He also had to think of next week's meal plan for Sebastian. He'd mentioned wanting Mexican not long ago. He wandered back over to his desk and searched through a small pile of notepads until he found the one he was looking for. He flipped through it, muttering to himself.
"Okay!" Sebastian replied smiling. "Goodnight Tobs." He said opening the door to his room. Tobio waved at him, lost in thought and scribbling things down. He needed a cigarette. When the door finally closed he pushed open his window and lit one, blowing smoke out while writing something down again. He sat with his back pressed against the wall under his window, making notes before abandoning the notepad on the floor, mid sentence to make a note of something else and sticking it on the wall. He came back to his notepad and finished what he'd been writing before going to make coffee. He had a little extra whipped coffee and didn't feel like making a whole new pot just yet so he made himself an cup of that and sat back down at his desk. He lit another cigarette, he really needed to stop smoking. after another drag he rested his head in his hand and started writing.
"Alright well my dorm is this way." Sebastian said heading towards his room.
((Yeah lol. Horray for whipped coffee trends tho lol. I love that stuff.))

Perhaps it was just that Tobio was his brother, but Sebastian seemed unknowable as well. He was such a cheerfully extroverted person that it was difficult for Charlie to see anything else. Still, there must be something underneath all that. No one was that happy all the time. It didn't seem possible. After seeing the twins interact with each other, Charlie couldn't help but feel like there was more to it. They didn't really act like twins. Tobio had treated Sebastian like a younger brother almost. He cooked and planned meals, he was always alert when Sebastian was around. There was a deep protectiveness between them. Charlie knew that when he hurt Sebastian, it was going to impact Tobio quite a lot. He was sure of that now.
As they stopped by Sebastian's door, Charlie felt a strange feeling wash over him. He didn't want to hurt Sebastian anymore. That bond he had seen between Tobio and his brother was so pure, so innocent, and he didn't want to take advantage of it. It felt like taking advantage of a child who trusted in all that is good in this world. Why had he wanted to hurt Sebastian in the first place? His heart was no longer into this challenge he had set for himself. Still, Charlie wasn't the type to make promises and then not fulfill them. He had promised Tobio he would break him, by going after Sebastian. He wasn't going back on his plan now. Even if he didn't really want to do it anymore.

"Ah yes. Dorm sweet dorm." Sebastian said. "Ah my, b-roommate is probably out for practice or a workout of something right now, as usual, so you can come in for a bit if you want. Though it is getting a bit late. But it's up to you." He said pushing the door open and walking in. Colt's half of the room was still littered in workout gear, he looked at his room now, the lighting was brighter and there were paintings and paint everywhere. Sebastian could never work on one project at a time so he was constantly moving between two or three paintings at a time. He stooped and grabbed a loose brush, setting it back on his desk with his bag.
He stared at it for a moment before looking up a Charlie and smiling. He hadn't been painting as much since he'd been dating and broken up with Colt. He knew the action sketches Colt had asked him to do were still somewhere in this room, he couldn't imagine where though. He'd probably stay up a bit later tonight and start painting again. Seeing them unfinished made him feel partial.
((Really? Dalgona coffee is so good. It blew up in early March but I really like it.))

Charlie raised his eyes at Sebastian's little slip-up. Boyfriend? Or roommate? Sounds like someone was having some relationship issues at the moment. Charlie was immensely glad he had a single room. It had taken about five million calls to get a single. BLA didn't give single rooms to people who didn't really need it... and they hadn't thought that Charlie really needed it. It was a good thing they had eventually come around to the idea because he probably would have put his roommate in hospital by mistake at some point. Not because he wanted to... just because it was inevitable that at some point his roommate would put something in the wrong place, or breath too loud, or worse, bring friends back to the dorm, and Charlie would just go full on Kung fo on them. Probably the only thing worse than a roommate, would be a roommate who doubled as a boyfriend. Because once you broke up... what are you supposed to do then? Awkwardness all the time. Charlie needed his room to feel like a safe place. It was the only place he could relax and let his mind take over. Sebastian definitely didn't have that if his boyfriend was also his roommate.
Charlie didn't come into the room. Rather he propped up a shoulder against the doorframe and peered into the room. The two sides were so different it was hilarious. One had sports gear spread over ever surface, while the other was brimming with paintings, and bare canvases, and buckets of paints. Charlie much preferred one side to the other.
"Nice paintings." He said softly. He was being honest at least with that. They were good paintings. Sebastian had mentioned that he liked to paint but Charlie had assumed that, like most people, he probably wasn't any good. But he had assumed wrong. The whole room felt like walking into a studio and it put his mind at ease. But Charlie had spent a lot of time with people today, and he could only do so much talking. He needed to be alone for a little while.
"I think I'm going to head back actually I have a lot of homework that needs finishing." He replied, scrubbing a hand through his hair.
"But thanks for the lovely evening. I really appreciated it." He added before turning and disappearing down the hall.

When Tobio got back to his dorm he fell into a groove, he turned on some music quietly so he wouldn't wake anyone and just started cooking. He went off his original recipes first, making the measurements ultra precise and then slowly started changing them, it was hard because there were so many ways to tweak it. By six the next morning he was surrounded by multiple variations of different dumplings and was squatting with his hands folded on the counter above him and his head pressed against one of the cupboards, ultimately defeated. Nothing tasted right now. He'd gotten the recipes to the point where one if his mom's friends who came straight from China said they tasted authentic and now he couldn't figure out what was wrong with them. He let his arms slip down to the floor with him and he sat there. He felt sick, he never at this much. Checking the time he packaged up all the dumplings, there was a ridiculous amount. His mom was having some book club thing tonight, he would have asked her to come and get them but he didn't want anyone having them, he felt like he'd failed immensely and he most definitely had nobody to turn to for something as trivial as this. He started sticking them in the freezer, altered recipes on sticky notes littering the kitchen. He'd just have to eat them himself. First he had to get ready for classes though, and probably throw up.
"Ah, thank you." Sebastian said smiling and looking around him. He took pride in his work, it felt good to get praise from someone other than Tobio.
"Okay, make sure you get some rest then." Sebastian said smiling as he closed the door after him. He let his hand slip from the handle and he sat on his bed staring at one of the paintings. It looked awful unfinished. He hated his unfinished paintings and never knew if he really liked them until he was done. he pulled on an apron and sat kneeled in front of one, letting his brush work, then let a section dry and moved to another painting and continued this cycle between three paintings for a few hours. When he looked up it was nearly midnight. He texted Tobio to ask how he was doing, he'd seemed stressed when they'd left. All he got back was an 'I'm fine.' Same as usual. He went and showered and set his alarm and went to bed.

One hand resting on the doorknob, Charlie glanced around furtively before turning the knob and stepping hurriedly into the room, closing it behind him quickly. There was no going back now. It was the end of the school day and Charlie had skipped off math class to do this. It was the only time he knew for sure that Sebastian and his roommate wouldn't be around. He had closed the door without turning on the light so he searched around on the wall to find the lightswitch. It lit the room up, revealing the rows of canvases which covered Sebastian's half of the room. They looked beautiful. Full of expression, and emotions that Charlie hadn't thought the bright and bubbly Sebastian could feel. Their beauty made him angry all over again. The same way Tobio's handsome face made him seeth.
Charlie wanted to get this over with, so he quickly strode over to the first canvas and snapped the frame in two with his knee before using a pocket knife to slice through the canvas itself. Slowly, the fury which always simmered just beneath the surface of his skin began to take over. He began to rip at things more furiously. His fingertips bled from the effort of tearing apart rough canvas and splinters from wooden frames. He became a tornado of destruction. A flurry of colour and fury, throwing everything Sebastian had held dear around the room. Charlie was human, but sometimes he felt like a natural disaster. One he couldn't even protect himself from.
By the time he was finished, the room looked like an art piece itself. Scattered with ripped up canvases and paint. It was beautiful in the way scary things can be beautiful. Charlie wiped one hand over his cheek, smearing a pastel pink colour across his face. His hands were shaking and the scene in front of him made him a little bit nauseous. He had utterly destroyed Sebastian's room. Not only that, he had ruined the boy's passion. His paintings were all wrecked. All that hard work for nothing, and Charlie didn't even know why he had done it. He had to do it. But he didn't know why. He didn't know why he did things sometimes, and more often those things he did got him into a lot of trouble.
With a little choking sound, he staggered out of the dorm, automatically turning the lights off and closing the door behind him. The hall looked perfectly normal, no one knew anything was different. No one knew that something inside of Charlie was falling apart. And knowing that no one knew, made that thing inside of Charlie break even further. No one would know who had done this horrible thing, except for one person. Tobio. Tobio was smart enough to figure it out. He would hold Charlie accountable. He would know, and that comforted Charlie in some unnamable way.

After class Sebastian went to Tobio's dorm to grab something he'd made then left for his own. He wasn't sure if Colt was back yet but he didn't really care, he'd gotten over that. When he walked in he stepped on something and looked down. Why was his canvas all the way over here? Actually, it was only a piece of a canvas but there were more. The longer he stared at the room the longer he could feel his body reacting in ways his emotions couldn't yet process. He was crying but that much was obvious, and shaking violently. He could see bits of his unfinished paintings, and parts of some of his oldest.
Every single one was destroyed. He stared, wide eyed, frozen in place until he could manage to think that he needed help. He wasn't sure what kind of help but he somehow called Tobio, he didn't say anything but he could hear Tobio say that he was coming to the dorm and to stay there.
Tobio had just given Sebastian a container of taco salad he'd made and sat down to start working on his manuscript again. Tonight was light on homework so he had time. His phone rang and he glanced over at it on his bed, Sebastian's smiling face lit up his screen. He picked up but Sebastian didn't start talking right away like usual which was odd. It only got worse when Sebastian didn't respond to anything he was saying. A normal person would think it was a but dial but Tobio couldn't think that way. He kept the call going until he got to Sebastian's dorm and whipped open the door.
Tobio looked out over the sea of shattered canvases and ended the call. He couldn't react right now. That's not what Sebastian needed.
"Can you fix it?" He heard Sebastian ask. He looked at his brother who had the most desperate look on his face and for once in his life he offered Sebastian a hug. It all seemed to finally be hitting him now, all the emotions as he staggered forward into Tobio's outspread arms. After about a half hour of standing like that Sebastian was just dry sobbing and Tobio managed to pull his brother back to his dorm, away from the wreckage. He took Sebastian's phone and explained what happened to Colt and told him not to touch it.
When they got to his dorm Sebastian was still clutching his bag in one hand and the container of food in the other, Tobio knew it was a common habit for people to cling to whatever they were given at times like this. Sebastian sat down on Tobio's bed and stared at the door.
"Cael's never here, kitchen is open for you. Do you want me to stay or will you be okay here by yourself?" He asked, he was about to explode and there's one person he needed to talk to.
"You can go." Sebastian replied softly.
"I'll be back." Tobio said before leaving and closing the door behind him. He didn't know where Charlie was or how he was going to find him but he knew where Charlie's dorm was and that was a start. He stormed through the hallways, stiff and quick, looking for one person and one person only.

Still, Charlie felt like he had somehow crossed a line. He was always hurting people's feelings and destroying things around him. It was like a curse. But he had never actively gone through the trouble to hurt someone else. It always just seemed to be the side effect of him talking to other people. When they spoke to him or spent time with him, they got hurt. That was just the way it went. But he had never sought out trouble as he had with Sebastian. Trouble just seemed to find him. Now he felt like he had crossed some boundary which he had always stopped short of. The boundary that separated him from just being another evil, good for nothing boy who found pleasure in putting other people down. He had always toed the line of that boundary, but today it felt like he had crossed it.
He didn't close the door behind him as he dropped his bag onto the floor. He didn't even notice it was still open, nor did he turn on the lights. Instead, he just kicked off his boots and crawled under the covers of his bed, still fully clothed. He felt like a child again who believed that nothing could get to him if he was underneath his blankets. And he just lay there, waiting for Tobio to come and show him that this time he had gone too far. Waiting, and hoping desperately that Tobio would come.
"I would very much like to kiss the cook." He remarked, giving Tobio a flirtatious smile. That was probably one of the cutest apron designs he had ever seen in his life. Tobio was also undeniably one of the cutest people in the world. He listened to Tobio ramble on about things for a while with his eyes closed, enjoying the sounds of his voice. Tevi had always liked the noise. He always had music, or the radio or a podcast on in the background. That was another one of his extroverted tendencies.
"Thanks for the explanation." He mumbled with a smile. It really was adorable the way Tobio rambled on about this. It was interesting actually. The first time Tevi had met Tobio, he had hardly spoken at all, and now he was rambling on about things! Finally Tevi dropped off to sleep with a content sigh.
