Books like The End of the F***ing World

Hi there, just finished the series and I plan on reading the comics. Do you know any books(not graphical novels/comics, just normal books) that are similar to TEOTFW? Books about teens running away together, getting into bad situations, falling in love on their journey, etc? It doesn't have to be as brutal as TEOTFW, but I won't shy away form heavier themes. It would be nice if it had (at least somewhat) happy ending, and please no rape and cheating on each other, that's something that I really don't enjoy. Thanks in advance :)

Life As We Knew It not sure that this totally matches what you want, but I thought I'd suggest it anyway. It's the first book in a trilogy. Gloomy, gloomy, gloomy. I'm still not sure why I read it and the other 2--I guess the writing impressed me.

Emergence this one I'm almost positive is what you are looking for. I've read it a couple of times and enjoyed it every time. There is supposed to be a follow up book, but I've never been able to find it. This might be hard to find too. I don't think it's ever been re-released or anything since it came out in the 80's.

I haven't read The End of the F*cking World, but in another post I solved someone described Nobody But Us as being nearly identical in plot.
