ABANDONED. YA: Boy falls into a ocean in a well after getting on a boat in it.

It's on earth in times before guns. There is a well and in it is vast waters like a ocean. It is filled with monsters. A boat that is going on a trip in it, has a boy on it. He falls into the water cutting himself. When his blood hit the water every monster knew his name. Knew about him. ( long story short they basically read his DNA through his blood). The spoke into his mind saying his name.

I read this book about 5 years ago I can't remember much, but ask questions about specific details and I'll answer. I think there was more then one on the series atleast 2 books. It was a thick book I estimate maybe 600 pages. Thick almost like Harry potter books. The cover in hardback has a monster on the front. The boy has a sister

Could it maybe be Brave Story? It was thick, I think the MC had a sister, and I might vaguely remember something about water like that....
