I've noticed that occasionally Amazon and Audible don't agree on whether an ebook/audiobook title is Whispersync or not.
For example, I recently bought a Kindle ebook - Wild Swans - that was not reported as Whispersync on amazon. However, the page for the audiobook - on Amazon and audible - did report it as Whispersync, with a nice discount. However, after the audiobook purchase, my audible library did *not* report it as Whispersync (the link to the ebook was "unavailable").
Furthermore, the service on Amazon that checks whether any of your Kindle ebooks have Whispersync audiobooks failed to display this title as an option; the same feature in the Kindle iOS app displayed it!
This was not the first time this has happened; I remember one other Kindle ebook like this - The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, if I recall correctly.
All I can suggest is: if you're buying a Kindle ebook and it has an Audible audiobook that is not reported as Whispersync, check the audiobook product page on both Amazon and Audible, not just the ebook product page. Yo might get lucky!
