Ha! I keep thinking, “Wonder twin powers activate!” when I see the twin threads. Lol So glad someone used it!!
I love your name! I wanted to suggest it for Lori and I, but I wasn't sure anyone would know what the reference was.
SUPER!☺
I just saw an email from Half Price books about Midnight at the Bright Ideas Bookstore. They're reading it for their book club. It sounds really interesting!

Don't worry, there are plenty of us who remember those cartoons :)
Now that the Toppler is over, I've started the book. It reads pretty quickly and is different from what I was expecting.I like the heroine, but wonder about her determination to avoid her past. It seems that she has not moved on much at all and she's let is shape her entire life. Her boyfriend is sweet and funny. Though I must say that I'm not looking forward t learning the details of her past.
The mystery of Joey is bugging me. I'm wondering what he was doing with the books. At first I thought it was a message, but I can't figure out the purpose. What happened and where is his friend?
And I would love to spend time in that bookstore. I wondered if it was based on Tattered Cover, as they have a store in lower downtown Denver right by Union Station. However, that is a new branch and this book takes place in the 1990s (which also surprised me).
I read the author used to live in Denver and worked at the Tattered Cover. I am right in the beginning too. Sounds like about the same location as you.
Yes, I read it earlier this evening. It was pretty awful. And the mystery of the books is really interesting. However, I'm almost afraid to learn what message he left behind. And I'm wondering about Raj and what will happen with him.
Well, I left my book at work by accident. I am up to the point where Lydia has went to the mountains to talk to the investigator and he has put some doubt in her mind about her father.
You're further along than me. I'll get some more read this evening. It's a pretty quick read so far, but I'm only about 40% in.
Okay, I finished last night and am not sure how I feel about it. There were some nasty revelations at the end, though I saw some of them coming. There was just such a huge mess! And all because of one small act that wasn't even permanent. It definitely did not have a happy ending, but I didn't feel it was sad or depressing, despite everything. I'm avoiding spoilers until you have had a chance to finish, as its hard to say much about the last third of the book without giving something away.
Ok. I just finished it. So it was an ok book. She seemed to have blocked out a lot of what happened and didn't think of why she was still alive. Once Moberg told her about her blood trail and made her think of the noise she made and then she said the Hammerman seemed surprised that Carol was there in the house that made me think of Rohan as the killer. But I didn't think it was because the plumber was plumbing his wife, so to speak.
